Kalashnikovs selling quickly

According to Fox News, folks are scooping up the existing stocks of Kalashnikov brand products since the President added the Russian company to the Office of Foreign Funds Control’s Specially Designated Nationals List last week;

Craig Ball, director of operations at Impact Guns, said the stores have seen increased interest from buyers looking for AK-47s over the last few days. Gun stores typically don’t keep many AKs in the pipeline, he added.

“Then something like this happens, and the supply dries up,” Ball explained.

Looking at Gun Broker’s auction website, there are still quite a few available there, along with some Saiga shotguns made by the Kalashnikov folks. I’m guessing that folks who had planned on buying the guns are just pushing up their timeline for the purchases. Prices are pretty steep, but they haven’t reached “panic” pricing yet.

Atlantic Firearms has this proviso on their website;

Please Note: Due to the recent Import Ban on Russian Based AK firearms we are experiencing heavy order volumes . Please expect it to take approx 4 – 7 business days for any order to ship out , CA Orders may be slightly longer. We are working hard to ship orders out as quickly as possible . Thank You

But one thing is for sure – this administration has done more for gun traders than any other administration.

Yes, if you want to bump up sales for a really good product, make sure you tell people that the supply is limited, or that once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Obama should be selling Yugos.

He’s not that much of a miracle worker.

I said it once and I will say it again, “everytime there is mention of sanctions, restriction, loss of liberty (with respects to weapons) and new gun laws … sales sky-rocket”.

President Obama should be a lobbiest for the the gun manaufacturing industry … he has done wonders for the bottom lines of manufactures of weapons and ammunition.

Another strategy well thought out!

Although it’s STILL a cast-iron bitch to find .45 P+ or .22 LR in any significant quantity.

The thing with 22lr is not so much hording but people buying all stores get in stock and reselling it on GB and other sites.

If people would stop buying common ammo on GB it would be on the store shelves.

Personally, I prefer the SKS for my 7.62×39 shooting needs, but then again, California-legal AKs aren’t even worthwhile anyway. But it is hilarious how Obama has not only increased gun ownership in America, he’s also increased interest in the scariest of “scary” guns. Seriously, this guy could fuck up boiling water!

I agree, I like the sks much better than I do the AK. Very easy to make 922r compliant and then you can do anything you want with one.
with the dual piston system it runs extremely clean. I do replace the firing pin with a spring loaded load. I have had a few that like to slam fire with soft primers. New FP takes care of that little bit of hell.

Ahh but is there still an ammunition shortage going on? Hard to fire the weapon if you can’t find rounds.

OWB

Heard a couple of guys talking about that last week. Sounded as if the shortage was pretty much over, except for .22 ammo which apparently folks are still hording.

Google Creedmoor Sports.

A case of SK 22LR is $839. That is about 3.5 times what I paid for the same case about 18 months ago.

Eley tenex is $1,900 per case.

Black Hills 300 win mag is $2.15 per round.

In my opinion those prices are typical.

Powder and primers are hard to find. Bullets are more available. I am paying $170 per 8-lb keg for powder, up from about $130 18 months ago. I cannot find cases of Federal 210M or 215M.

YMMV.

Yeah well what did people expect when over night at King Obummer’s whim, another AK manufacturer is now a collectable. Obummer’s admin also shadily banned Russian surplus ammo a couple of months back under completely bogus reasons.

I bet Tula ammo will be banned shortly. Clinton’s Chinese weapon ban is still in effect 20 years later making those weapons that are in the United States super valuable.

Shitty backdoor gun/ammo bans on Americans suck.
