Steven Cushman; lying politician in Florida
So there’s this guy in Wakulla County, Florida running for commissioner named Steven “Steve” Cushman and this is what he’s saying about his Air Force career;
So, Scotty gets his records and it turns out that he did some time in the Air Force Reserves and got out as an E-3 after a year or so. I’m pretty sure that if he had gone to ROTC, he would have been a commissioned officer and he might have been a pilot, but that’s not the case here.
If he’d spent any time on active duty, there’d be a FOIA from the NPRC, instead the NPRC referred the request to the Reserves. So he probably didn’t even go to basic training.
Yeah, after many of the guys who we’ve seen on these pages, this seems rather pedestrian, but, obviously he was a dirtbag who couldn’t make it in the Reserves. Now he’s trading on the reputation of people better than him in order to win an election. If he’s as qualified as he seems to be, he didn’t need to even mention his stunted Air Force Reserve career. Yet there it is and he’s making excuses about “voluntary disenrollment offered during the Clinton Administration”. He was a reservist for a year. And Clinton wasn’t President in August 1990 when he left the service according to the Air Reserve Personnel Center.
So he’s trading on the reputations of real veterans to deceive the voters. I wonder what else he’s lying about.
Category: Phony soldiers
Why use two words (lying politician) when one (politician) covers them both?
Exactly, is there any other kind of politician?
Florida.
I will not even say it.
Here … let me say it for you:
Hey Boss man. This POS is located in TX instead of FL.
I am not so sure, Scotty.
There is no “Wakulla County” in Texas. The article announcing his candidacy is from a Florida newspaper.
His Facebook page talks for his campaign talks about issues in the state of Florida – not Texas.
https://www.facebook.com/SteveCushmanforWakullaCountyCommissionerDistrict4
Finally, there is a Steve Cushman running for County Commissioner in District 4 listed on the Wakulla, Florida Supervisor of Elections site.
http://wakulla.electionsfl.org/Candidates/2014-Candidate-Information-Local-State.aspx
If that is the guy you are talking about and it appears that it is from your site, he is a Floridian.
My Bust, He moved from TX to FL. My apologies for missing that bit of information.
Scotty – can we assume (yeah, I hate that word too) that the original info is correct?
Yes, The orig. info is correct. I had to go back and double check my notes.
So many POSers , So little time.. Aggg !
Order up! 🙂

Different Steve Cushman I know, but quite some claims. Surprised he doesn’t have a Dos Equis sponsorship.
“At age 18 he joined the U.S. Army as a Private, Infantry. Following his selection and graduation from Officer Candidate School, he commanded a rifle company of the First Infantry Division in Vietnam at the age of 23.
This was his first serious Adventure experience.”
Legit?
Not likely.”During his military career he was trained in numerous REMOTE “outdoor” and “adventure” courses, including Jungle Survival/Escape and Evasion in Panama. While assigned to central Alaska he completed the Arctic Infantry Training Course.” No such creatures.
Stuff happens.
There is not a person who writes for a blog or comments on a blog that cannot say they have made a similar “oopsie.”

Wow… a non AF officer pilot who is a professor at a junior college and involved in several lawsuits. Someone stole Cheveliar’s playbook.
God, is there some sort of petri dish where they grow people like this? Do politicians seriously think there aren’t people who make it their business to check their bios and sniff out things that don’t smell right? Dickheads the lot of them.
Ironically, “investigation is his specialty”. Oh yes, it is.
Where do these critters come from, someplace called “ASSWIPES ‘R’ US”?
All-Points Logistics.
LOL!!! GT is still the reigning TAH ‘Chip-Shot-to-the-Head’ KING!
Interesting; we get a lot of these folks here in Florida.
August 1990? What a coincidence? Invasion of Kuwait? Left the Air Force Reserves at that time. Hmmm.
We also get the so called candidates who use a family members military service. Example; son of a proud World War 2 veteran. Whatever.. these idiots are everywhere.
This clown claims to have a degree in psychology from the University of North Texas where he attended ROTC. I thought the Air Force would only to consider applicants for flight school who had at least a 4 year degree in one of the sciences or engineering. He’s also deleting any posts to his Facebook page that bring the subject up.
I’m not aware of any subject requirement. My dad was a pilot with an English degree.
He’s either taken the page private or banned me from posting. Coward and liar.
You know, any time I come across the following intros on TAH, I know I’m in for a real treat.
“So, Scotty gets his records and…”
“So, Don Shipley talked to x, and…”
“So, TeamSergeant sends us this, and…”
So,
Steven Cushman
Steve Cushman
Steven “Steve” “Doucheman” Cushman
Feeling the heat? This ain’t hell, but I BET you can feel it from here. See Green Thumbs employment recommendation for your next job… God I love this place.
Well, great…this lying sack of shit is claiming to having gone to my former alma mater at UNT.
Funny thing, I think I remember him in a few classes long ago.
Either way, thanks, Steve the Shithead. Disgrace quite a few people there, both civilian and military.
Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Are you saying that a politician is lying to us? I am shocked! Shocked, I say.
I think all political offices should be filled by holding a lottery. The winner gets evaluated every year. If his service has been satisfactory he gets another year. Only one term may be served and that would be paid at the same rate you were earning upon selection. If unsatisfactory he gets fed to a wood chipper.
The lottery names would come from voter lists. Each name drawn would be checked against lists of convicted felons, welfare recipients, and taxpayers. Only those on the taxpayer rolls would qualify. Any office holder who has more money in the bank at the end of his term than he had when he started would have it taken, and he would then be fed to the chipper. That ought to keep them honest.
Sounds good.
Maybe we should go back to the founding fathers way of “SERVING” (seems that they have forgotten that they are there to serve the people, not the other way around)
The founding fathers would go take care of the business of their elected office and then return to their farm to WORK for themselves.
Even my local politicians are (for the most part) crooked.
It seems simple enough. Term limits for all federal office holders. If it’s good enough for the presidency, it’s good enough for Congress critters. Each state decides if it will give it’s representatives raises and at what rate. Elected officials use the same insurance as everyone else and follow the same laws (no more legal insider trading). Elected officials get no retirement pay for years served. We now have a political class in this country who think they are royalty. Their entire careers are spent in elected office. That’s not the way it was meant to be.
Pilot, 7 years in reserves…oh no doubt he lied and he is confronted by the lie. No way he could get out of it. I guess thought nobody would challenge him on his military career.
Florida…land of the fakes.
Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes; Florida, the land of 10,000 military fakes.
Gonna start referencing that for now when we get Florida fakes lol.
Look like Steven Seagal sitting in that chair.
Or Steven Seagal’s moronic brother.
Put a fake little ponytail on this fucker.
I see a road trip.He lives within ten miles of my son/
Hope you at least send this to him?
Go get him!
Smug-lookin’ ‘lil POOP STAIN, ain’t he?
Well, if the special little snowflake was a DEP attrite (and might well be, given no graduation from Lackland School for Wayward Boys) it might well be a case of, “Holy shit! Saddam just rolled into Kuwait! I might have to actually no shit go to war! Fuck that!” and simply RTO or copped to some shit that got him booted.
That being said, even if he wasn’t a military pilot, betcha he knows when, how, and why he has to check the fuel level in his tanks.
I think the Air Force had a top secret program in which Airman First Class flew Stealth fighters.
So, dingus here writes to tell us how we’re all screwed up – his Reserve Air Force service was completely while he was in ROTC. He says that he completed ROTC Advanced Camp at Lackland…so we’re all stupid, or something. He says that he’s a veteran, despite the fact that he really wasn’t – he was a college student who didn’t finish ROTC.
But anyway, it was a thousand-word email supporting my impression that he’s a bloviating liar – well-suited for his political career.
He will go far in Politics !
And at All-Points Logistics.
So much for being a reserve police officer. Back in the day in Denton Texas. It appears the Cush mobile filed suit against the City of Denton, the Denton police dept, and the police chief. Cush claimed his civil rights were violated. The suit was filed Nov of 2011. Said suit was dismissed.
I think he has a real future with all points!
Police chiefs name is Roy Minter Jr. Would be real interesting to get his take on the Cush Mobile!
If he completed Advanced Camp, and signed a contract, he would receive a monthly stipend which is equivalent to E3 base pay. Now usually once a cadet starts collecting a stipend they would owe Uncle Sam a two-year enisted tour if they withdraw from an ROTC program….either that or pay back any scholarship & stipend money they receive. I wonder if he got cold feet and that got mommy and daddy to bail him out?
He was born as Steven Dwayne Okada.
…and he graduated from Denton High School in 1987. He ran either cross country or track. (I knew of this guy, but didn’t know him personally. DHS was a relatively small school back then). It’s plausible he attended the University of North Texas, but I’m sure a call to the school or AFROTC Det 835 would verify his attendance at the school.
He claims to have worked at a cattle ranch in Denton. Which one?
Denton County Texas court records show he has some litigation behind him, to include his car repair business. The site doesn’t list specifics of the cases, but its a coincidence he’s having litigation in FL for similar issues.
I can’t post the Denton County records here, but if you type his name under CIVIL, FAMILY & PROBATE CASE RECORDS, unspecific info about the cases appear:

Have this idiot show us his DD-214 He’s a disgrace to real veterans!!!!!! Pilot….. my ass
Since I drove through Alabama and seen a space shuttle at a rest stop….. I guess I have been to space.
