The Heroes of Hempstead

| November 13, 2008

Those brave souls who couldn’t summon the courage to support the country until the war was over stood up to the greatest threat they ever faced in their pathetic little lives Monday. The American Justice System.
The so-called Hempstead 15 (er, um…14) showed up for their arraignment Monday in Nassua County, NY and bravely told the court system “Not Guilty” (Yay! How brave). At the point in the video that they announce to the adoring press that they all pleaded not guilty, fat-assed Bill Perry (the guy who bravely cowered in a mamasan’s hooch while his platoon was ambushed a few meters away) gives Adam Kokesh a big wet one on his cheek. Will there be a Proposition 8 violation in their future? Who knows. Perry appears to  be open to it and Kokesh ain’t hatin’ it.

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the story, the arrests stem from the Presidential Debate in Nassau County last month when IVAW tried to demand time to ask the candidates questions – not exactly the format that particular night. But anyway, three were initially arrested and when the crowd was asked to disperse, the police dispersed them forcibly, causing one of the arrestees to be injured. He looks fine now – but I’m guessing he wasn’t all that stabile to begin with.

Anyway, here’s the video below the jump;

It’s too bad they could summon that level of bravado to fight the real enemies of this country instead of just fighting against common sense. But then, the Islamists wouldn’t have left them standing after a confrontation while the Nassau County Police would. It’s easy to brave when you know the opponent will exert a measure of mercy.

Also notice that IVAW and Veterans for Peace have decided to become the arbiter of what makes a “war hero” and they’ve decided that John McCain isn’t one. But crybabies who bitch about a war that was almost ended before this year’s election are somehow heroes when they stand up to a democratic government.
