Oh Boy

| May 19, 2014

The VA treatment scandal keeps spreading. Now, a former psychiatrist at the Huntington VA Medical Center, Charleston, WV  VA – Dr. Margaret Moxness – has come forward with some pretty damning accusations.

Specifically, Dr. Moxness claims she was told to delay treatment for patients needing it.  She further claims that her complaints about those delays were ignored by her superiors.  And she also claims  that at least two individuals committed suicide while awaiting treatment.

This is not exactly a new case, either. The individual reportedly worked for the VA at Huntington VAMC from 2008 to 2010.

Details are here, courtesy of Fox News.  IMO, it’s worth a read.

The VA has not yet commented on the matter.

Well I’ve heard about every excuse from the VA so far. It’s about time for us to hear the “disgruntled employee” excuse.

Twist

I know this is off topic, but my granddaughter was born yesterday. I’m just a proud grandfather and can’t help but shout it out to the world. I am also going on my young daughter’s field trip to Lucas Oil Stadium (sorry TSO).

Twist…Congratulations Granddad! I am happy to hear everyone is healthy and doing well. Go ahead and thump that chest!

That’s wonderful sir. Enjoy feeling extra-special old in the next few years 😀

Club Manager

Great, know the feeling and you are blessed. Now go on line to the U.S. Mint (real deal not the commercial outfits) and buy here complete sets of 2014 coins and if they still have them, and you can afford it, a double eagle gold dollar and a real silver dollar. Then go to the Post Office site and purchase a block of the first stamp issue closest to her birth date. Put all of the above away until she turns 18 and graduates high school. If you are no longer in this world, they she has something to remember you because you will include a photo.

I might add to Club Manager’s suggestion, a copy if the paper from the day she was born.

Twist

I would like to add that she isn’t my first grandchild. I plan to spoil her with energy drinks and unrealistic promises from Santa Clause before sending her home to her parents with a whistle. Isn’t Karma great?

Sparks

Twist…turn her on to a drum set, then send her home with it! 😀

SFC D

Negatory on the drum set… Might I recommend bagpipes?

And a puppy.

Congratulations, but while I think you’re too young to be a grandfather, you will very likely be a GREAT grandpa!

+100!

Twist

I married an Alaskan 8 years my elder and haven’t looked back.

Congrats to you and yours, Twist!

Twist, Congrats Grandpappa,(Opa)!!

I go to this VA Health Clinic that Dr.Margaret Moxness was employed at. And I can tell you first hand that the service you receive is excellent . But they are understaffed big time. It is nothing to be put on a sixty day waiting list in order to see a Dr.

I use VA Habor in NYC. It is kinda like visiting a theme park … Many costumes (I’d you know what I mean) and very motivated employees trying to the best they can.

I have faith … Yet it is tested at each visit.

Sparks

Master Chief…I haven’t heard from you in a while. I hope you and the family are well and life is good on all fronts. I’ll drop you a line in a day or two. Take care Sir.

Sparks. Rog that. All is AOK …

I can vouch for the tests of patience that the VA gives, OH, the heartburn their “robo-operator” system gave me when I tried to reschedule an appointment today…

Andy

Is anyone starting to wonder if the guy that shot up the Navy Yard was on an unofficial wait list…

She claims she was “functionally silenced.”

Please, let me put on my wadders before listening to this woman again.

I am sick and tired of people who say they are committed to helping others keep silent when there are tones of ways to address and let others know of what can be said is illegal conduct.

Anyone, and I mean anyone, who was aware and took part in this fiasco should be prosecuted and or fired.

No exceptions.

It is time to send a message.

I know someone that used to work for the VA, she quit because she couldn’t take the bullshit and laziness any longer.

Liberal cowards (especially bureaucrats) love to play ignore-it-and-it-doesn’t-exist (like 5 year olds) on the assumption they gave a subordinate all their power and if snubbed that subordinate can’t do anything (which sorta works if buddies play along until that subordinate complains to someone else who gets pissed)… anyway, it’s dang childish.

And now we have a news story out Cheyenne, Wyo. The VA hospital there has leaked other vets records while copying records to CD’s tosend out to those who requested their own..

The Huntington VA is one of the worst around. They screwed my Grand Father over back in 1990 and more recently they’ve did the same to some of my buddies I grew up with. They told my Grand Father he had heart burn, nothing serious. A year later it got worse, VA still did nothing. He finally went to St. Mary’s Hospital. It was too late then, he had cancer and they couldn’t do much with it. He hung in there for two more years. He was 64 when he died. A good chance he could still be here today if the VA hadn’t screwed him over. The hell he went through in Korea and that’s how a grateful nation repaid him. It’s disgraceful this is allowed to go on. The men and women that serve our nation, whether they see combat or not they stood up and served when most of us don’t. They deserve the health care they earned and more.
