To Obama; taxes aren’t charity

In this video (I picked up at Gateway Pundit) Barack Obama tries to minimize the damage the McCain campaign is doing to him by labeling him a socialist. He attempts to make fun of their alarmist name calling, but instead he reveals something more essential about his philosophy.

Gateway Pundit, rightfully noticed that Obama called those of us who don’t want tax hikes are selfish. But I noticed some stuff that was left out out of the transcript GP quoted.

In the video, referring to the redistribution of wealth Obama says “The point is though, you know, it’s not just charity, it’s not that I just want to help the middleclass….” Oh really? Government redistribution of wealth is “charity”?

He goes on to mock the McCain/Palin team, “You know. Next thing I know they’re going to, you know, find evidence of my communistic tendencies because I shared my toys in kindergarten. I split my peanut butter and jelly sandwich with my friend in 6th grade.”

No, actually, that’s charity, Barack. What you want to do is take toys from one child who might have two and give it to another child – a toy that’s not yours. You want to take half of a peanut butter sandwich from one child and give it to another one. A sandwich that’s not yours.

Doing something about this is charity;

Barack Obama definitely has relative in Boston.

His campaign confirmed to WBZ Thursday evening that his Kenyan aunt lives in public housing in South Boston.

The Times of London first reported Wednesday that Zeituni Onyango, 73, has a disabled-access apartment in the West Broadway Housing Development on Flaherty Way.

Doing something about this is charity;

George Hussein Onyango Obama, 25, said he’s embarrassed to reveal his identity – because he makes his home in a 6-by-9-foot hut on the outskirts of Nairobi while his world-famous brother is hoping to move into the White House.

“If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related; I am ashamed,” he told the Italian Vanity Fair. “No one knows who I am.”

Funding the school named for Obama as he promised would be charity;

He then turned to the school’s principal, Yuanita Obiero, and assured her and her teachers: “I know you are working very hard and struggling to bring up this school, but I have said I will assist the school and I will do so.”

Unfortunately, he has no plans to do anything with his own money like taking care of his family or helping the school to which his name’s been given. He wants us to fund those things with our hard-earned dollars without a say in it – that’s what makes him a socialist.

Of course, apparently he thinks our stuff is his stuff – I guess that why he doesn’t understand the term ‘socialism”.
