Stuck in the 60s

| October 13, 2008

It’s as if the last four decades never happened. A reader sent this article about the woman who broke up the Beatles giving money to the veterans that broke up common sense;

When Bob Krzewinski, secretary of the local chapter of Veterans for Peace, called Yoko Ono’s agent to seek approval for a John Lennon tribute concert, he received the thumbs up and thought that was that.

A couple weeks later Krzewinski received a nondescript envelope in the mail, in it a check for $10,000, signed by Ono.

“Oh my God, is this real?” he remembers saying after discovering the check. “It’s just fantastic.”

The donated money will help fund the Peace scholarship, which is available to students studying conflict resolution or who are veterans, Krzewinski said. VFP also accepted donations during Friday’s concert at the Corner Brewery, the date after Lennon’s birthday.

We all know how much we need more money to send idiots to college so they can have useless majors and immediately join the ranks of the unemployed upon graduation. Not to worry, though, the old liars and players from the VFP probably squandered the money on slick new scrunchies for their ponytails anyway.

will the yoko/beatles talk ever stop?

Second Prize was a used Che shirt and a Vietnam Veterans Against the War pin.

The shirt is useless, but the VVAW pin assures you can make IVAW members dance to your tune…
