Wednesday morning feel good story
Chief Tango sends us a link to our feel good story this morning, this time from Pennsylvania where a 69-year-old answered an unexpected knock at his door along with his two friends, Smith and Wesson;
The alleged intruder, Francis Muchanic, 31, of Susquehanna, Pa., knocked on the door of a home at 948 Creek Road in New Milford Township around 7:40 p.m. and told the homeowner he needed to use his phone due to car problems, police said.
The 69-year-old homeowner answered his door while carrying a loaded Smith & Wesson revolver and tried to shut the door on Muchanic after seeing he was wearing a mask, police said.
As Muchanic allegedly forced his way inside and knocked the homeowner to the ground, the homeowner fired three shots and struck Muchanic once in the groin area, police said. Two people who allegedly drove Muchanic to the house, Dylan Brewer, 20, and Evan Hess, 20, fled in a vehicle after the shots were fired, police said.
Yeah, I was incapacitated just by reading about the groin strike. You are a ‘go’ at this station.

3 shots with only one hit? Must have been a small target. Just sayin
Well, this just may be a true rarity: a Darwin Award winner who lived.
Jonn – Typo in the title of this post.

Mr Muchanic went from being “Francis” to, “Ohhhhh Fraaaancissss”.
Aaaaah, one to the groin from Smith and Wesson. Works for me.
That’s gonna leave a mark!!
My friends, Mr. Heckler and Mr. Koch, always assist me to welcome suspicious visitors at my door.
That hurts just thinking about it. Good on our gent. Mr. Muchanic may not have assumed room temperature, but there’s a pretty good chance he won’t procreate, at least.
@7: My door greeter is named Harley. He’s a pleasant fellow.
I’m trying to think of something to say along the lines of crooks running off and leaving their friends at the sound of gunfire and soldiers running towards their friends at the sound of it but I can’t come up with a good one.
Jonp, you just did. Nicely done.
I do not usually respond to these Feel Good Stories, as much as I like them, but the comment from JONP struck home with me. Running towards the gunfire is what I would want in a shipmate.
