Thursday feel good story
OIF ’06-’07-‘8 sends us our feel good story to start our day off right. This one is from Philidelpia where two men were confronted by three gunman – a shootout ensued;
Nearly 40 shots were fired around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday when an armed man attempted to rob two men who were walking to their car. One robbery target grabbed his gun and a shootout ensued that saw 37 shots fired.
Two weapons were recovered at the scene overnight, and late today police found a third handgun believed to have been used during the wild shootout.
The robbery victim, 26-year-old Khalif Murray, was critically wounded and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The initial robber was mortally wounded, having been shot in the head, stomach and back. He is identified as 25-year-old Broderick Howard, who is known to police with pinches including firearms violations dating back to 2006.
Howard’s two accomplices remain at large.
I’m guessing a high capacity magazine came in handy for the victim.
Chief Tango sends us another from Oklahoma;
Around 9PM Tuesday, Altus police started getting calls from people saying they heard gunshots coming from the 800 block of North Jackson. When police arrived in the area, they found a man that had been shot twice lying in a church parking lot. That’s also when they noticed the house next door had its door wide open, and they figured out that house must be where the whole thing started.
“When they got to the house, they made entry because the door was wide open,” Altus Deputy Police Chief Mike Bell said. “It had been broken open. They made entry in the house and looked around, and there was nobody in the house. Right around that same time, we got a call from the hospital that another gunshot victim had transported themselves there.”
The victim at the hospital turned out to be the homeowner, Alejandro Obajaro. He said he and his girlfriend were in the bedroom when they heard the front door get kicked open. That’s when Obajaro went to see who was in his house.
“When he entered the living room, he noticed a black male and a white male standing in the living room area with guns,” Bell said. “One had a shotgun and one had a handgun.”
Obajaro approached the men, and they pointed their guns at him and made him and his girlfriend lay down on the floor. The suspects were talking to the girlfriend, and that’s when Obajaro made his move.
“The homeowner jumped up and got in a fight with the man with the handgun,” Bell said. “During the fight, the homeowner got shot in the foot.”
Obajaro was able to get the gun away from the suspect, turned it on the suspect and shot him twice in the abdomen area.
“At that point, both suspects ran out the front of the house,” Bell said. “The white male was lying in the church parking lot.”
I guess a bullet in the foot is better than the hundreds of other ways this one could have turned out.

Two incidents, two victims wounded, but in both cases, the criminals got the worst of the deal. Love these feel good stories.
“Known to police with pinches”? Was he a drive-by pincher?
He was known to police. I wonder if they had made sure to confiscate his guns? Oh, wait, that only happens to LEGALLY registered guns, not those illegally purchased on the street by CRIMINALS.
People who do home invavasions in Oklahoma can expect the same results as in Texas. The homeowner could have got a bad Deer season. Joe
