Wow…”Instead of entitlements” The ignorance of the posters will continue to astound me. I have a client who is self-employed making 16k/year. I don’t know how he survives, but he would never ever pretend that his accountant doesn’t deserve what he makes. I charge the guy nothing for his returns, because he pays self-employment taxes, has had cancer and deserves a fucking break according to me. He gives nearly a thousand dollars to his church, FFS and never complains. Those other people should just STFU and take a lesson from life. No one owes you jack shit! Your “luck” is seizing the opportunity, period.

I have a really hard time with movies these days, feel like I am wasting time when I sit there and watch them….I went with my wife and friends to see “Gravity” recently everyone who saw the film with us loved it…I found it to be one of the most boring 90 minutes I’ve had in a long time I couldn’t stand the film…as this has been the case fairly often in recent years I am beginning to think the problem lies with me, which is usually the case in most other aspects of my existence. I just don’t find movies all that interesting any more…I’m not any big message guy I like stupid comedies as much as the next person but lately all these movies seem to be a sort of pre-packaged pablum designed to please the masses without actually entertaining or stretching your imagination….probably just me…
I did like the bullying post about the team beating their opponents 91-0….most of the DUers to their credit were not upset about it, but a couple of whiners were all kinds of butthurt over whether or not it was fair to beat someone like that….
@3 I was debating a liberal just yesterday on the merits of Obamacare and he said I should just stay out of the debate since I receive free government healthcare. When I reminded him that I had earned it for 24 years of honorable service to my country, he told me to stop beating my chest. Fortunately for him, he was sitting behind a computer screen in Florida when he said it or the chest beating would have been more personal than he probably wanted. These fuckers just do not get it. On any level.

I’m not sure you understand what socialized health care means.
All it means is that medical care is provided by a state agency and paid for with funds obtained by taxes. It has nothing whatsoever do with whether the recipient “earns” the care.
Veterans receive health care provided by the government and paid for by the America people. Therefore, it’s socialized medicine.
…and the quality of care obtained via the VA is better than private-sector health plans.

@12 No spoilers, just long and boring to me without any real interest. I think it was sold to me as a cool realistic looking space flick and it appears to be all fantasy and bullsh1t from my warped perspective…I’ve seen movies that were almost 3 hours long and felt they were over too quickly, this movie was barely 90 minutes and it felt like I’d spent 3 days caged in the theater…
But that’s just me, I was the only one who thought that in my group of attendees. Every single other person enjoyed the movie immensely. I can only conclude it’s my limited ability to enjoy fine art and pop culture that prevents me from enjoying what the rest of society finds pleasure in doing.
