Worst jingle ever
OK, so I was worried about my Patriots yesterday. Frankly, the team scares the bejesus out of me this year because the receivers are like Clifford Franklin from the Washington Sentinels. Luckily, yesterday they pulled the good Clifford Franklin.
So anyway, I’m listening to the game streamed on the internet while watching the unwatchable Bills/Jets game. Only, every time the game goes into commercial there is the same fricken commercial, over and over and over. It features this horrid jingle:
Anyway, after I bitched on Facebook about it endlessly, people told me it runs in a ton of places. Have you ever heard this crap song before? I don’t want to say bad things about kids and such, but this is the worst song in history. It was so bad I would just hit refresh over and over and wait until the game came back on.
So has anyone heard this shit horrid jingle before?
UPDATE: Looks like I am not alone, some dude from SF Gate said he’d rather drive his car off a cliff than donate to Kars4Kids:
I remember the first time I heard the jingle, while I was listening to KNBR during the morning kindergarten/babysitter dropoff. Most radio ads are annoying, and I usually don’t mind. I know a lot of nice people who work in radio and television. If hearing from Stephen Moskowitz every three minutes means a few of my friends get to keep their jobs, then God bless him and his no initial consultation fees. It’s easy enough to tune this stuff out.
But the 1-877-KARS-4-KIDS ad was different. Horribly, horribly different. This advertisement couldn’t be ignored. It’s amazingly simple, featuring a slightly out of key adult, child or group singing the same jingle over and over. (The vocals change from commercial to commercial, but the tune doesn’t.) And yet the assault on my senses is all-consuming. There was no unringing this bell. It’s the audio equivalent of walking in on your parents having sex. Hear it once, and it’s in your head forever.

Hear it all the time on the radio here.
it was on the radio here in the Boston area for a long time… turned it off every time it came on. It is one of those things that makes you want to poke scewers into your ear drums… even worse than that “Friday” song.
i cant get the videos to play, but nothing can be as bad as the fox song that was posted here a few weeks ago
That bad, eh? Thankfully I have not heard it. One more of the benefits of weaning myself off TV a few years back. I won’t open the video here, and hope that it is not a “self starter”.
Thanks for the heads up.
There are a couple of radio stations I listen to here, and they play that song ALL THE TIME. It grates against my nerves, too – so I turn the radio off/down when it comes on.
They play it all the time on radio stations in the NY/NJ area. I’ve also heard it down in Baltimore. The reggae mix and the country style mix are equally horrible.
They are the NAMBLA of radio commercials.
A buddy of mine worked at a large radio station in NYC doing their marketing and advertising. KARS-4-KIDS is well known to be a scam and have very shady business practices. In their weekly meetings he would bring up these facts in an attempt to get that horrible commercial off the air. In more or less terms, he was told that because they have so much money and dump so much money into radio commercials there was no way the radio station could take them off the air.
I have not heard that noise yet, so I will take your word for it.
Frankly, I detest ads so much that I usually won’t buy the product advertised. I used to put the TV on ‘mute’ when I still had one that worked and went out of the room.
But K4K is nothing but a scam like all those other fundraiser things, and most people know it.
Thank God, no.
Bad enough I have to put up with those fucking furniture selling hippies Bob and whathizname from Jordan’s.
Never heard it before (Philadelphia Area) but I usually have the Samsung phone plugged in listening to some kind of music over radio almost any day. That was a truly bad jingle.
We have it on the local DC station that carries the traffic report. It is one of those things that you just can’t get out of your head.
I didn’t hear it. I was too busy watching my Colts punch the 49ers in the mouth.
Yeah Twist, I am buying the new Colts. They looked horrid last week, but they were amazing yesterday. Just pounded them all over the place. (I also watched that game)
I turn the channel as soon as it comes on. It’s horridly annoying!
Never saw it but this thread suggests another: Commercials I hate and those I love. I have a long list of the former but towards the top is the series where some jerk is sitting with some first graders. I can’t even tell you what the commercial is advertising but it’s a channel changer.
It’s a short love list but my top two are the latest AFLAC commercial. I actually saved the commercial to watch it whenever I need a good laugh. I also like the insurance commercials where some guy is Mayhem and some ESPN or Sports center commercials. I forget which.
They play this ad on WMAL in D.C. I turn off the radio when I hear it.
Not a fan but there is an infamous Imus rant about this ad, I think it’s on youtube. I’m in North Jersey and this jiggle has been around on various radio stations at least since the mid-90s here. Its one of those vocalisations, like Larry David’s agent’s wife, that make your teeth and jaw hurt.
this is my current favorite commercial.

I used to love the etrade baby commercials.
AirCav–the one with the kids is for Sprint, IIRC. Actually, that’s one of the few I can semi-tolerate. GEICO is the other (What day is it?) and the ESPN Sportscenters are always good for a laugh…one of my favorties was the Y2K test:
It plays in the Twin Cities at least once an hour, which nearly always causes me to change the station.
This one made me laugh out loud

An old one from the new Sleepy Hollow PD Captain.
Thanks for the links you guys. I enjoyed your selections. I had forgotten about the 7-11 and Y2K ones. Here’s the latest AFLAC commercial where he’s rehearsing for his return after serious injury and therapy. It would seem that physical injury may have been the least of his problems.

Um. That should have been 7-UP (Yours), not 7-11.
Thanks for sharing these! If you ask me, there is certainly one jingle that I think would make a good addition to this list, and that would be Denny’s Nannerpuss song:
