Skeptical bunch that we are, several of you have sent us links in regards to Miss Kansas, Theressa Vail. Yes, she’s a buck sergeant in the Kansas National Guard Medical Detachment like she says. And, I’m sure to the horror of SMA Ray Chandler, she’s inked;

According to People Magazine, her tats are the Army Dental Corps insignia on her shoulder and the Serenity Prayer in the gentle curve of her side.

She’s also an expert M16 marksman, a bow hunter, a skydiver, a boxer and a mechanic. She finally had to stop motorcycle racing after breaking all the fingers in her right hand – a potential stumbling block, she decided, to reaching her goal of becoming an Army dentist. She can skin a deer, she has a great squirrel stew recipe (it features sauerkraut) and, one day, she hopes to hunt bear with her bow and arrow.

People says that her commanding officer encouraged her to enter the beauty pageant. The article also says that she took another burst of six years with the Guard, so it should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Common Sense

If you haven’t watched her video or voted for her on the Miss America site, you should.

She was a mechanic before she was dental, she is getting her pilot’s license soon, and she’s very smart, no air head beauty contestant here.

Good kid.

OWB

Oh, oh. She is about to be interviewed on Faux.

Hot damn she can handle a rifle and looks halfway decent! Need to rut her for a few years and put some scars on that belly and make her know her role. She will leave all that beauty contest nonsense behind her. She got a purty mouth too!

A gun and a military person versus cultural diversity. Guess which won? The winner, New York’s Nina Davuluri, is being feted as the first Miss America of Indian (as in India) heritage. Her “pageant platform was ‘celebrating diversity through cultural competency.’ Her talent routine was a Bollywood fusion dance.”

Yeah, okay. I’m glad the Miss America Pageant isn’t political, aren’t you?

OWB

What the hell is cultural competency? (Gonna guess it is NOT correctly wearing a kilt.)

2/17 Air Cav

@55. Yeah, it could be that, but I think it means dancing the Bollywood fusion w/o spilling your drink. This was the chick, by the way, who was recorded calling another contestant a fat cow. I thought cows were good things to Indians. Speaking of unanswered questions, what’s up with Indians and teeth? I mean their chompers are always perfect and as white as a Klansman’s hood. (Hey, I’m just doing my part for political correctness.)

OWB

Ah, so she is a libby. It is just fine for them to be all judgmental because they are the betters of all, but one must not ever contemplate being critical of anything they do or say.
