Buckingham pleads guilty to bilking public for vets’ raffle
We first wrote about Matthew Buckingham in February when he was arrested for a Craigslist scam in Missouri. MCPO Ret. In TN sends us a link today which reports that the little worm pleaded guilty to yet another scam in court yesterday.
A number of people responded to Buckingham’s ads [on Craigslist] and he arranged to meet these people at restaurants and bars in the St. Louis area. After introducing himself as “Tyler Matthews,” Buckingham showed the people a binder with various documents claiming he was affiliated with the military and other paperwork that appeared to legitimize his charitable activities.
While talking with these people, Buckingham said he served in Afghanistan and Iraq, that he was a Marine and had been injured in the war, and that he later worked as a military officer and sniper. After returning home, Buckingham said he worked in the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Coast Guard, and that he presently worked in an “undercover” capacity in north St. Louis infiltrating gangs and combating crime.
Matthew Buckingham pleaded guilty to impersonating a federal agent. He faces up to three years in prison and/or fines totaling $250,000 when he’s sentenced November 25.
I hope Missouri sees that this assmonkey is endangering legitimate charities and locks the little weasel up soon, because apparently he works harder at scamming people than he would at a real job.

I’ve got a brilliant idea. Let’s get the DoD to put together an entire brigade made up of jackasses like this one, and Phildo and — dare I say it? – Shovelshitter GIDuck — the more SV slime, the better, and send their sorry asses into the front of combat in Syria first.
That way, they can prove they were there, they’ll get all the bennies they wish they really had, and they won’t have to lie about anything, because they’ll be in the BTDT category.

I wrote a bill for class where I took the existing Federal language of the SVA and changed it for legislative approval in the state.
And I raised the penalties.
All of the liberals in class were complaining that it went to far, to harsh and did not take into consideration mental deficiencies (TBI, PTSD, etc.) – as if that is a factor. “I have the PTSD and now I am COL in the SEALS”. Yeah.
Anyway, I pointed out it was not a victimless crime. A man molests your kids and he goes to prison, but you and your kids still have to deal with the memories. A man rapes your sister and goes to prison. But you and your sister have to deal with it. A man defrauds your family and puts you on the street. The man is ordered to pay restitution but has nothing and goes to prison. Your still on the street.
Liberals did not get these examples. So I asked them, “What if it happens to you?”

Andy: different sources give that version as well, also attributed to Rizzo. Haven’t been able to trace it to original source and determine which is correct. Both could be.

I am actually not conservative. More of a reformed southern/moderate Democrat.
That being said, I live in reality and have seen what negligence, arrogance and blind stupidity can accomplish.
GT: I was actually referring to the change your acquaintance showed (@8 and 9), and offering a quote that explained the change.
FWIW: my experience growing up in the Deep South was that pretty much all southern Democrats were reasonably conservative (they didn’t tend to get elected otherwise). It was the Democratic party in the South that changed over the years.

Why is it a crime to impersonate a federal or local police officer but the Supreme Court struck down the original SVA for the same thing for military? Don’t we have a 1st Amendment right to pretend to be a cop?
