Fake CIA agent arrested at “RED 2”
In a theater in Grand Blanc, MI, a man was arrested when patrons called police about a man wearing body armor, carrying a weapon and wearing a CIA badge, you know because CIA agents operating in the US wear their badges all of the time to theaters.
Police say when they arrived, he was watching “Red 2,” a movie about a retired CIA agent.
“When they see things like this, someone with body armour on and a gun strapped to their side, they get nervous,” said Detective Matt Harburn with the Grand Blanc Township Police Department.
“They ask him to step outside to talk to him, the gentleman does that, and once they’re outside they inquire how he’s dressed and at that point he displays a CIA card, like an official card that he tries to pass he’s a CIA agent,” Harburn.
That fake ID badge is what got him arrested. Delavergne has a license for the gun and it’s not illegal to carry it in the theatre, but now he’s charged with impersonating a federal agent. The FBI is handling the case now.
The FBI also says Delavergne had more than 100 rounds of ammunition in his car.
According to the news, he wore the badge so no one would get nervous about the gun. Nice try, dingus.
Category: Dumbass Bullshit
At least he wasn’t sporting an unearned Apollo Doorgunner’s shoulder patch!!
What a Rocket Scientist!!
After watching the cops following the Boston bombing, and the rest of the news coming out of the FBI, CIA and all the rest of the government agencies, this guy ought to fit right in with their incompetent asses…
What a knob…
Tool! What happened to concealed carry. But, in a CIA spoof movie you want to be sure folks know you are “one of them”. Clown.
I wonder if this guy is related to the late Bernard P. Fife.
It’s those types of dumbasses that make the rest of us gun owners look bad
He was watching the movie, eating popcorn – with his mom.
That’s nice.
None of you asked the obvious questions:
1 – Why was he wearing body armor at a movie about a retired spy?
2 – Why did he think a business card with the CIA’s info on it would make the po-po think he was a spy?
Doesn’t he have a first amendment right to claim to be a CIA agent?
I commend the police and the theater for not going all SWAT over this idiot’s delusional activity.
Someone is about to lose their CCW…at the very least.
Spade: good question, actually. Not sure at what point a false verbal claim of that nature might bleed over the line to impersonating a federal agent (or a LEO, for that matter).
However, the fact that the tool was using a faked credentials to reinforce the verbal claim kinda makes it a moot point IMO.
He either needs his meds doubled, or cut in half. Either way, he REALLY needs to be under psychiatric care.
I wonder if he was TRYING to be as stupid as possible, or if it just came to him naturally?
RangerX: if convicted, that’s a distinct possibility. As well as the right to own firearms at all.
Impersonating a Federal Officer or Employee (18 USC 912) carries a maximum penalty of 3 years. That makes it a felony.
Using a faked badge plus a verbal claim of being a “CIA agent” might qualify as a violation of that part of Federal law. The use of a fake badge would seem to satisfy the “acting under the authority of the United States” element required to constitute a crime.

Everyone can just back off. Rick Fine called and said he worked with this guy when he was sniper for the CIA.
This idiot is lucky he wasn’t popped a new arsehole in the forehead. What the heck was he thinking? Now, however, the Presidential Propaganda Wing (read: Mainstream Media) will claim that he is indicative of all gun owners and demonize us all as just waiting for a reason to shoot up a theater.
maybe he felt like he needed self defense measures because he was GOING to a theater….the CIA card was just icing on the loonie-cake
