That ‘shroom eating gun nut is on the street
One of our friends sent us a link to the latest news on Adam Kokesh who was busted for loading a shotgun on the streets of DC and for having “Medicinal” mushrooms in his apartment is out of the hoosegow on $5000 bail according to the DCist;
The outspoken gun rights activist Adam Kokesh is out of jail on $5,000 bond, but a Fairfax County judge has ordered that he await trial under a condition that might come as difficult to him…[Kokesh] was prohibited from possessing guns pending the completion of his case, WJLA reports. The 31-year-old former marine was also placed on pre-trial probation, and will next appear in court on Oct. 2 for a preliminary hearing.

Kokesh had spent most of the past week in Fairfax County lockup following his arrest last Tuesday night by Herndon police. At hearings last week, Kokesh refused to answer a judge’s questions or submit to fingerprint scanning and a photo, thus prolonging his detention.
Knowing Kokesh like I do, he won’t sit still for this. I predict that he’ll be arrested for something else in the near future. I also predict that one his tongue-bathers will be in here to defend him.

Well, if he’s not going to cooperate with a judge, he sure as hell ain’t gonna cooperate with the pre-trial release conditions. That will land him back in the pokey (or it should, anyway). We’ll see.
$5,000? That’s not much bail, they apparently aren’t real concerned about him being a threat or running…..they probably know he needs a show to keep in the spotlight so it will be easy to find him, that and the whole finding Nirvana through psychotropic plant life…

Of course he’ll get arrested again. It’s what attention whores do. The only difference between him and Cindy Sheehan is that she finally just faded away.
Eventually, even D.C. and Fairfax County will grow weary of Adam’s horse-sh-t antics. With any luck anytime in the future, he’ll be locked up for a longer period of time.

Kokesh is getting some support from 2nd Amendment activists who see his arrest as a big deal. They are not interested in his douchebaggery through the years, they see him as some kind of hero in the war against gun grabbing.
If nothing else, Kokesh is a goddamn chameleon and able to be what he feels he needs to be to keep his name in the press.
I have gotten into a debate with a former Marine that I served with who totally ignores all that Kokesh has done to get himself where he is today and looks only at the recent arrest.
If Kokesh is the kind of representative they want, then I say drive on, but don’t get butt hurt when your hero turns into the turd many at TAH have always known he was.
Someone should set Kokesh and Dan Choi up on a blind date. They could have dinner in DC, and find some lame excuse to get arrested togther, and spend some quality cell-time to get acquainted.
Kokesh is a nuttah in the first degree. I just wanted to add a style tip, I would have gone with shroom-gobbling, gun nut in the headline. It just sings a bit more, don’tcha think?
