Your Thursday feel good story

| July 11, 2013

Chief Tango sends links to the story of a Melbourne, Florida homeowner who encountered four men trying to turn their lives around inside his home. Some of them had guns, but so did the father and husband;

According to Melbourne police, three or four males — in their teens or early 20s — broke into the home and tried to rob the family.

The homeowner, however, shot at the intruders, striking one of them in the arm, police said.

The family’s dog was also injured, but no one else was hurt, police said.

The suspected intruder who was shot was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center.

One of the playful youngsters, the one who was shot, had warrants one him before the break in. I hope the family’s dog recovers, the burglar, not so much.

Can we send the dog a get well card?

“Suspected Intruder” WTF? When any person that I don’t know is shot in my house, he is not “Suspected”, he is an intruder. I know that under the law he is presumed innocent, however under my roof intruders are subject to summary infliction of explosive violence. If more home owners shoot these folks perhaps more of them will try to turn their lives around working at a job or in school.

Maybe they just wanted to get a jump on the Zimmerman verdict celebration.

Nice.

Here’s someone else that made a decision that resulted in the end of his law breaking activities. Unfortunately, common sense didn’t stick around that long:

In an ideal world, those burglars would be praying that the dog lived because they’d follow him in death.

Here is a little more detail on the incident from the Florida Today newspaper, which is closer to Melbourne and actually covers the area. (Better than the Sentinel.)

I never get tired of the “turning his life around” shtick. This variation is even better. Great post Jonn!

Three to four home invaders?

Hence the right to own so-called high capacity magazines. Or multiple wheel guns.

Somebody breaks into an occupied house, theft is note the first item on their agenda. And the lawful occupants won’t like those agenda items.

@1. “Six weeks ago, I culdn’t spel G-E-D. Now I amz wun.”

Is there a fund set up so I can contribute to the dog’s vet bill?

PintoNag

On top of home invasion, they’ll get hit with animal cruelty charges. In this day and age, it’s better to kill the whole family, than to shoot the dog!

OH MY GOD THAT IS TRAGIC … I certainly hope the dog will be OK!
