Hagel commands Female Rangers and SEALs by 2015
The Associated Press reports that they have documents from the Pentagon which will be released tomorrow or thereabouts in regards to the services receiving orders from Secretary of Defense to move ahead with plans to allow women into most of the specialties from which they are currently excluded;
They call for requiring women and men to meet the same physical and mental standards to quality for certain infantry, armor, commando and other front-line positions across the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel reviewed the plans and has ordered the services to move ahead.
The move, expected to be announced Tuesday, follows revelations of a startling number of sexual assaults in the armed forces. Earlier this year, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey said the sexual assaults might be linked to the longstanding ban on women serving in combat because the disparity between the roles of men and women creates separate classes of personnel – male “warriors” versus the rest of the force.
That’s what is Marty, your colonels and generals are sexually assaulting women because they can’t be Rangers. You’ve got your finger on the pulse of human nature, by golly gosh.
Under the schedules military leaders delivered to Hagel, the Army will develop standards by July 2015 to allow women to train and potentially serve as Rangers, and qualified women could begin training as Navy SEALS by March 2016 if senior leaders agree.
Yeah, like I’ve been predicting since this discussion began in earnest recently, they’re going to “develop standards” instead of maintaining the tried and true established standards which has proved successful in combat.
The proposals leave the door open for continued exclusion of women from some jobs, if research and testing find that women could not be successful in sufficient numbers, but the services would have to defend such decisions to top Pentagon leaders.
That will happen, I’m sure. What makes our special forces special is their adherence to a strict and steady training regimen. They aren’t born that way, they just train harder than most units. But, since the traditional forces can’t grasp that simple fact, they figure they can lower the standard of training and still produce the same product. But the political masters will be pleased, I suppose, well, until the body bags start coming home and it hits them in their political wallet.

What gal doesn’t want to resemble Janet Reno or Helen Thomas by their 25th birthday?
@48.
Good point.
Ok this is probably a bad post but well actually IS kinda related so let me ask, do you guys know about how picky the recruiter is with age? I THINK I finally have a green card sponsor but the stuff will execute in April, at this point only Navy reserve would take me problem is I hit 39 in june next year and I think I’m like ULTRA close to the maximum age .. so … should i get my hopes up? (I’m literally excited as hell with the prospect of being honored to serve this country) or should I just softly let it go? …
We apparently have TWO trolls gracing us with their presence tonight.
#1 Mr Spin-on-my-Meat
and #2 Mt Scott Funk/F**k in the facebook comments at the top of the column.
Since I can’t get my reply to Mr F**k to post there, I’ll post it here:
Scott Funk, STFU and crawl back under your troll rock.
Jonn posted the stats and data on military sexual assaults within the past month.
If you don’t like them stats, why don’t you provide your own? Instead of disparaging better men then you.
ACH yes, I got so caught up in Mr F**k, I forgot to post my original:
“this idea of having women in the SF/Rangers/etc will be successful (as defined by this current crop of TAH) when monkeys fly out of my various body orifices.”
We had this discussion back in January.
I thought we got everything settled then. Maybe not.
@#30-I’ll go ahead and “out” myself as a poser now too. Run a FOIA on me and you’ll see I don’t have a CIB either. So I guess I can’t say that women in Rangers/SEALs/Special Forces/infantry/cav/armor is beyond a horrendously stupid idea?
Jonn Lilyea:
Guess what?
The spell checker doesn’t like the way your name is spelled!
Mox nix.
I just want to say how very pleased I am to see that, when you wrote this post, you correctly knew the difference between, “regime”, and, “regimen”.
Do you realize how RARE that is today?
It’s like the difference between, “flout”, and, “flaunt”, which even television news anchors habitually get wrong.
It’s like saying, “gender”, instead of, “sex”, which is a deliberate misuse and distortion of English vocabulary.
It’s like referring to the conflict of 1861 – 1865 as the “Civil War”, or any of a gazillion other corruptions of our contemporary language and/or history, all because of choosing what’s popular, rather than what’s right.
So, congratulations, Sir!
(I still can’t figure out whether you’re an NCO or an ossifer.)
Thank you.

#30 An “Ad Hominem”, the trademark of the lameness.
See the problem is the trolls are stupid, they can’t even be original, see I could have said “Well if you see Annie Thorisdottir or Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet they are hardcore in crossfit they might be able to make it as they kick men’s butt in the tournaments” but nooooooo you have to come with the ol’ “Paul K Wickre” song and dance … bigger man than you have tried and failed .. go away let us big boys talk.
An EXORD was published a month or two ago giving 1 January 2016 as the date that most MOS’ will be open to females. This doesn’t specify a timeline for special operations units, but rather affects us lowly Infantry types and other not-so-special MOS’ currently closed to women.
The regiment had a regimen enabling the regime to stay in power.
Didn’t see the stats on who committed assaults in the military but have the powers that be broken down the military specialties that these criminals were in? The reason I ask is because the people who think they are smarter than us seem to think it’s because women can’t be SF. Just wondering how many of these crimes were committed by men in combat arms fields. I doubt there are many.
This is morally reprehensible. Not only does this destroy the capability of one of the greatest fighting force this world has ever seen, but any country that would willingly put forward those that by nature of their gender are that nation’s future mothers is immoral. I know that women are capable of more than simply being mothers and that’s all well and good, but to voluntarily or involuntarily (because the next question is will the draft now apply to women? Norway says yes: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323566804578548954255789098.html) put forth its women as combatants is national suicide. I for one would be vehemently opposed to my daughter being drafted into the military, let alone a combat MOS…this whole thing is just…FUBAR.
@28 Well put, sir.
(a) Except as set forth in paragragh (b) of this section, the racial, gender, and sexual preference compostion of each unit and subunit shall be not less than:
(i) 15% female;
(ii) 30% non-White;and
(iii)20% gay, lesbian, or transgender.
@46 Hondo – You wrote: “I’d bet you can even guess which site that might be.”
Um, no… I can’t.
@20, I learned a new acronym today. TARFU!
Also, wait for the first female to be passed over for promotion and then sue for discrimination.
USMCE8Ret: look at the guy’s screen name and add “www” and “com”. Wouldn’t recommend visiting, though.
Based on Google’s description of the site, I definitely passed on visiting. Google says it’s a gay/tranny porn site, and that doesn’t appeal to me. However, since the individual responsible for comment 30 keeps trying to post the link directly and/or as his website when he comments here (and using variants of the site name as his on-screen moniker), I’m guessing he’s trying to tell us he’s into that kind of stuff.
gay/tranny porn
The term alone makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up….sometimes I wish that it had remained the “the love that dare not speak its’ name”…..no putting the genie back in the bottle now though…
Why are senior military leaders not resigning en masse rather than enacting this?
@68 – Meatspin.com is a site that shows a looping .gif of two gay guys going at it, the catcher is sitting on the pitcher’s lap and his dick is spinning around in a circle (hence “meatspin”). It’s thoroughly horrifying and meant to be a prank site–you’re supposed to trick your friends into going to it, and the site has a counter that counts how many times the meat spins before they close the window out of shock and horror.
PhillyandBCEagles: I’ll take your word for it. I pretty much stopped reading at the gay/tranny porn description part on Google. That was enough to tell me the site wasn’t anything I’d find worth visiting.
Next, the leftists will be screeching for LGBT quotas when it comes to schooling, promotions, etc. SPC Tanner, the squared-away hard charger will have to be passed over for promotion in favor of “Brucie” in order to satisfy someone’s PC quota and agenda, just think about what THAT will do for Units’ morale and cohesion!! Liberals are NEVER satisfied. The moment they get one thing they want, they screech and howl for a dozen more!
Well, I for one will not be assaulting a female ranger or seal. If they meet the standards, and graduate, then those will be some badass ladies.
@74…which “standards” might those be? No way in hell there’s a woman out there who can meet the men’s standards. Hell, 80-90 percent of the MEN can’t meet the men’s standards.
If the Marine Corps Infantry Officer Course is any indication, then the different services are going to have to voluntell females to get them in the schools. The Marine Corps has attempted twice to put women through IOC. First two females to try failed, for the second attempt, none volunteered. What is Sgt. Hagel going to do about that??
Did someone say, “gay/tranny porn?”
Aw, shit–the skimmers found a new source of pron.
@71 Well that let’s me know how out of touch I am, I’m missing the humor in the idea that my friends will see two dudes meatspinning after I send them there….I would be wondering if my buddy sent me there if he was trying to share his inner feelings with me….and I’d be skeeved out about spending any quality time with him for a while afterwards…
To Scott Funk, well all us grunts know fighter pilots are little fucking dudes because they have to be to fit in the planes, cockpits aren’t made for for dudes 6’3″ 240 lbs…the average woman is smaller than the average male so it makes sense for them to sit in planes like the little men do….
But pilots don’t ruck 80lbs of gear all over hell and in all kinds of conditions….shit most guys don’t ruck that gear either….and of the guys who can not many are able to pass SEAL or Ranger.
Comparing pilots to SEALs and Rangers because we spend a lot of money training them both is similar to explaining how sheep and wolves are roughly the same due to the four legs, mammals, and living in groups….while the wolves might listen to your explanation they know there is no truth in it….
“That’s what is Marty, your colonels and generals are sexually assaulting women because they can’t be Rangers. You’ve got your finger on the pulse of human nature, by golly gosh” Eggs-actly Batman.
Am I to believe Chuck Hagel, a man who has leaned on his time as a Vietnam infantryman during his political career, lacks the critical thinking skills to figure out why this is a horrible idea? Hagel has no credibility any longer on any National security topic. He wanted the position and no longer really contemplated what he might have to do to be appointed. He’ll make William Cohen seem benign in hindsight.
Panetta was a safe not threatening Democratic place holder who was a JAG(I believe) briefly in the early 60s. It was expected he would carry out the will of others with out much of a wimper. This isn’t just coming exclusively from the WhiteHouse though, a lot of the associate Secretaries of the executive branch departments are true believers and immerged from the Democratic Apparatchik over the last few election cycles. Obama said he was going to transform America, another awful example. I bet CNAS will have some of their people telling us what a great accomplishment this is in a few days.
#32 Absolutely Hondo. You know it’s just tedious having to make the same arguments over and over again. I could write a long essay on this covering the same topics others have, I have to stay my hand. This entire debate is the personification of that Chris Rock line about arguing with a woman, men are handicapped by having to make sense! They are willing to compromise combat effectiveness for an egalitarian illusion that can never be created. For a couple of political points they’ll risk our destruction!
#33 Good video. Your father? Nice to know your not the only one now or in the past.
Try to get some enlisted women to do this…
Good luck!
