Vandals deface memorial in WA
Nucsnipe sends us a link to what he spent Fathers’ Day doing – cleaning up after vandals at a war memorial in Port Orchard, WA;
“If the people that desecrated this had seen what was going on in combat they’d probably have a different perspective,” said veteran Don Winslow Sr, 81.
“This crosses the line. This will be the last time,” said Mark Traylor, an Iraq War veteran.
Traylor and other volunteers, including his 17-year-old son Aaron, started cleaning up the memorial Sunday morning.
“Not how I wanted to spend Father’s Day but you know what, that’s worth it,” said Traylor.
“These people on the wall are fathers or have fathers or sons. They don’t deserve to have their names defaced,” said Aaron.

I’m thinking we need to borrow from the Singaporeans and bring caning to the discussion.
Sometimes there are just no words.
The left has completed their long march through the institutions-and been extremely successful in infiltrating education in particular-now they are the ones who teach our nation’s children and they teach them contempt for our country and it’s traditions and history.
Incidents like this should come as no surprise-the rot has grown very deep indeed.
@2 Some specific profanity comes to mind.
If I were to come across any of the vermin that did any of that, I would thoroughly enjoy every bit of the physical pain I could give them, scumbags like that are in need of an extra-painful BEATDOWN!!!
On the bright side a young man showed respect and spent his time helping restore what was damaged. I will still hold some faith in our younger generation.
I’d keep an ear to the track, might be some of the local Kitsap Penisula Occutard wannabe’s were more than likely involved. Evergreen College, Tacoma Community College & the UofW, Tacoma campuses are all that far away.
er …..are not all that far away
It’s kids, and they need to be horse-whipped.
Amen to that, Ex-PH2, horsewhipping and some time in a pillory!!
@9 and 10, agreed. I cannot fathom the type of creature that would willfully desecrate such a memorial.
For shame.
It is not uncommon for these memorial desecrations to come in groups. Y’all watch your local memorials closely over the next few weeks, ‘K?
In the US Southwest, a specific punishment for certain abominations was used by local Native American tribes. The punishment involved a large anthill, ropes, large stakes driven into the ground, and honey. I’ll spare everyone the details.
Seems to me something like that would be rather apropos here, too.
So far the local police haven’t turned up any leads. Gonna try and get it in the local papers and put out some fliers and see what comes up. Almost finished restoring the wall still have a few tiles to redo the inlay on.
I’d beat a motherfucker until my hands were broken over some shit like that. This gets my blood boiling
Hondo-
Id stake them to a chair and peel open their eyes and have them watch the “Facts of Life” with all their specials.
The bull the Casino Royale treatment they gave Bond.
Make them wish for death, then deny it to them.
Pieces of filth, utter pieces of filth. I hope they all die painfully and slowly.
That’s right across Sinclair Inlet from the Bremerton Shipyard. I lived near there during our drydock period last year. It’s mostly white trash failures and haters in the area. But is is Western Washington.
[…] If the police ever catch them (and we hope they do) a just punishment may be being forced to clean the wall again, and then enlist in the military. Let some drill sergeant get a hold of their scrawny, ignorant, vermin-eaque butts. (h/t to the folks at “This Ain’t Hell.”) […]
@13, Hondo, I’m all for tying them to a fire ant mound here in the Southeast!!
Make love not babys
On a veteran’s memorial….indicative of a few things I think, clearly ignorant and stupid since they can only use 5 letters to spell 6 letter words speaks volumes about where they are being educated. No respect for the property of others, probably taught that by their parents.
On the plus side there is a young man cleaning up after the 4ssholes. I would hope they were found, and a creative judge sentences them to 1000 hours of community service scrubbing the intake tanks at the waste treatment facility. When they are arrested it would be a shame if they were to fall repeatedly and bounce their moronic heads off the pavement a dozen or so times….
Proud Infidel: that would indeed work quite well too.
@19–and people asked me why I never did a boomer tour. The surrounding area is gorgeous, but the people are inbred idiot libtards.
VOV–I’m all for having them do a few months of cleaning and painting tanks and voids of a 40-year old carrier in the yards. That ought to give them a sense of appreciation.
@24 I’m not against issuing a severe beating, but I know that’s not going to happen anymore than the Army will hang Manning…..so keeping it in the realm of what usually happens to vandals community service in a really disgusting fashion is probably the best I can hope for….
Of course Karma may step in and have one of these 4ssholes have an unfortunate accident…that would be funny.
VOV, you mean like “accidentally” getting rolled around naked in a pile of broken glass, followed up by a rinsing with isopropyl alcohol, then getting run through a patch of poison ivy, then they get dunked in a septic pond? Hey, that’s my happy thought for today, but a tumble down a dozen flights of stairs would be fine as well, followed by a horsewhipping and their being staked to a fire ant mound!!
@24 It varies. Poulsbo, the town closest to the boomers, is very military friendly, probably due to retirees. Bremerton and Port Orchard suck.
Quick update: Police arrested and charged a 17yo boy and a 15yo girl with the vandalism. Questioning 3 other darling youngsters. I’d post the article, but the local paper went behind a paywall.
Glad they were caught! I say we start a policy of public caning with these being the first.
nucsnipe: looks like this one might be part of the story:

Sparks: I’d have no problem with that. Unfortunately, the SCOTUS likely would. Caning/flogging is now so unusual that it would probably constitute “cruel and unusual punishment” under the law. Whether it should or not is another question.
The 17-year-old can, before his ass whoopin’, be forced to memorize the names of 100 Fallen servicemen who were 17 when they fell.
