Another right wing nut with a gun
The Washington Times reports that Oscar Ortega-Hernandez, the fellow who shot at the White House on November 11th, 2011 hoping to kill the President had as his motive, the most basic tenet of the conservative movement;
The government also intends to introduce evidence “that the defendant smoked marijuana, admitted using marijuana, and expressed anger toward the government regarding the continued criminalization of marijuana.”
Yup, that’s right, he was just a typical pothead wingnut, cuz conservatives are just so opposed to pot laws, ya know. Huh? What’s that? Well he was anti-government, right? And he owned a scary black gun. Isn’t that a right wing trait according to Big Sis’ Homeland Security Department? So he must be a right winger, because the Southern Poverty Law Center told them it’s so..
“[T]he defendant claims that smoking marijuana makes people more intelligent and claims that the government refuses to decriminalize marijuana, ‘because, if we were all more intelligent as a whole, it would be harder to deceive us,’” according to the documents filed this week.
I guess he didn’t just smoke enough pot to become more intelligent.

Guess this kinda blows a hole in the myth that pot smokers are non-violent compared to alcohol users.
I always hear the argument that potheads just mellow out after they smoke, while drunks start swinging and taking on the world.

Weed makes you more intelligent? I thought it just makes people eat an entire box of Twinkies and go to sleep…remember Bob Marley thought the CIA was out to get him, and I can’t even begin to imagine the inhuman amount of weed that dude smoked/ingested/shot up(?), so maybe we can add paranoia to the list of side effects.

I remember when that happened. We just exited the DAR hall from a free concert (for military personnel) by the band Kansas and the Army Band. Traffic really sucked that night, with roads closed for the investigation. At least the show was enjoyable.
@6 – “according to the media highly trained” – I can’t find anything that says Hernandez was ‘highly trained’, and I doubt that firing at rocks in a BLM-owned crater counts toward being ‘highly trained’.
We all have our little problems, don’t we? If pot were legal, it would probably cost ten times what it costs on the street now, with taxes and all. Doofus Amongus should have kept his obssession and his Jesus complex in his back yard. Now he’ll have to be somebody’s bitch just to get a whiff of weed.
This just proves that pot does not make people smarter. It just enhances their public displays of stupidity.
