Blind vet kicks criminal’s butt

| May 2, 2013

Jeff and ROS send us links to the story of Gordon Besaw and his seeing-eye dog Derby who were on their way to the VA hospital in Oklahoma for treatment for glaucoma when they bumped into Christopher Andrews. Andrews accosted Besaw and got the surprise of his life when the veteran threw him to the ground;

“I pulled his shirt and turned my hip and I just hip-tossed him onto the ground,” says Gordan. Once he got Andrew on the ground, Gordan put him in a choke-hold and held him until police arrived. He says it was instinct. “I just didn’t want to hurt the guy, and I didn’t want him to hurt me,” he says.

KOKO writes that maybe Andrews isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer;

Andrew told police when he “gets out of jail, he’s going to apply for the police and demand a Lexus because he’s better than everyone else.”

That boy ain’t right.

I concur, Jonn. The perp seems to have some serious issues.

I hope they put Andrews in isolation for his own protection until he gets help. Can you imagine how he’d get treated in normal lockup once word got around that a blind guy kicked his ass and then restrained him until police arrived?

Poohbah, Lord High Everything Else

His name is Gordon, not Eli? (/movie reference)

Holy crap … can you imagine if Mr. Besaw was in a wheelchair or had a prostetic … he would have killed Andrews.

Virtual Insanity

Only way this could have been better would be if the vet was a woman.

“Gordan put him in a choke-hold”

Gordon, great job on combatives, next time, hold that choke a bit harder and longer. 🙂

Cleared the cobs out, laughing! It must be good news week all week. What a guy!

It appears that not only is Mr Andrews NOT the brightest light bulb in the socket, the electricity isn’t even on.

Flagwaver

Electricity isn’t on? I don’t even think that one is wired for power.

Well Gordon, life’s tough. It’s even tougher when you’re stupid.

Pineywoods NCO

It’s wired for power all right, but runs off the hamsters who provide power to the Geocaching.com website…

And the hamsters are on vacation.
