Airman Injured at Boston Marathon

| April 17, 2013

The Military Times reports that a member of the USAF was seriously injured at the Boston Marathon bombing.  The name of the individual has not been released.

Rest easy, my brother- or sister-in-arms.  Recover fully and quickly.

If you’re so inclined, please ask CINC-All to speed this Airman’s recovery and comfort their family.

GOD Bless. And as for those who plan and execute these acts of cowardice, God may have mercy on them if he sees fit, BUT I WON’T if I’m one of those who catches any of them!

Speedy recovery Airman.

They are also looking for a guy named Tyler. All they know is his first name, that he is a Sergeant, and an Afghanistan veteran. Apparantly he helped a woman after the blast and she wants to thank him in person.

NHSparky

Prayers up.

Combat Historian

Get better and get well, Air Force-type!

CBSenior

The Hacker Jester has some really good photos of a guy that has what appears to be one of the backpacks in his arms.

PintoNag

Heal quickly and well, Airman. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

NHSparky

Yeah, but I’m also saying I’m aware of his other “nom de merde” as they were.

@7 We make jokes when jokes are appropriate. There’s nothing funny about the Airman’s injuries.

Twist

We might make jokes, if PEOPLE HADN’T FUCKING JUST DIES OR HAVE BEEN GRIEVOUSLY INJURED YOU PRICK.

Miss Ladybug

Tyler has been found. Saw an short interview with him on Greta last night on FNC.

Pentagon chief Hagel calls Boston bombing a ‘cruel act of terror’ – does that mean the Airman will be eligible for a PH?

Just ran across an interesting side-note. Brandon O’Brien, an NFL hopeful, has re-enlisted in the Marines because of the Boston marathon bombings. The report said he’s already done a couple of tours in Iraq.

I do not doubt that if the person responsible for this act is caught and is found to be Muslim, have an apartment full of AQ propaganda, is shown have frequently visited jihadists websites, wrote a missive on why he did this to further Islamic war against America the president and DOD will refuse to call it what it is and refuse to award purple hearts. It just doesn’t fit Barry’s narrative of how he has ended the war on terror.

DaveO

On the question of the Purple Heart: doubt it.

Both Obama (for the first time) and Hagel have associated the bombing in Boston with the term “act of terror.”

Until the lawyers have dug into it, figured out their rewards, no one will know if it terrorism, manslaughter, a protest against Tax Day or whatever.

What is interesting is the coincidence of the poisoned letters being discovered and the media’s conflation of the explosions with the attempted explosions.

@22. There was supposed to be a congressional subcommittee meeting of some sort yesterday regarding the Boston bombing. But then the then-lone mail peppered with suspected ricin was found and the Boston matter was dropped like a hot potato. Why? Because they realized THEY might be in danger–so screw that Boston business! I got a kick out of that.

DaveO

The news coverage of Boston has been one big clusterf*ck. He said this, she said that, someone leaked misinformation, disinformation, mentioned his soy latte was cold which was translated into a suspect arrested.

As for congresscritters running for cover. It’s what they do. No congresscritter has ever earned an MOH for serving in Congress.

The aP is running a story that gives notice to a suspect that he is being sought. The story offers specific details of what store’s videos captured his image and what highly suspicious thing he did. Nice work, AP, and a special shout-out to the POS who gave it up:

“A law enforcement official who was not authorized to discuss the case publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity confirmed only that investigators had an image of a potential suspect whose name was not known to them and who had not been questioned.”
