Bloomberg’s big lie
Ex-PH2 sends us a link to an article about this, the latest video ad from Nanny Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns crowd;
the video has a dingus with a gun sitting on the tailgate of his truck and his kids playing in the background – because he’s just like us. I always sit on the tailgate of my pickup with my gun, don’t you? Well, anyway he tells us how he’ll fight for his gun rights and then he says that “background checks have nothing to do with taking guns away from anyone”.
But then, Goober, tell me why the new background checks provision of that bill in the Senate requires that there’s a method for keeping records of those background checks and purchases? If it was a about background checks, after a buyer’s eligibility to own guns has been established, why would anyone need an archived copy of the purchase?
Bloomberg and his minions claim that 86 percent of voters support background checks. Sure, put me in that number, too, I support background checks for 100% of gun purchases, but I don’t support keeping a record of those purchases. I also support background checks for every purchase in a back alley or out of the trunk of a car – but nothing in this bill will stop criminals from transferring guns. The only people who will take the time to go somewhere and have a background check performed will be the law abiding citizens. And the only reason for keeping a record of those purchases is to eventually register guns and eventually confiscate guns.
Goober on the tailgate doesn’t understand the bill, and neither do those 86 percent of voters that Mayors Against Illegal Guns touts as the reason the Senate should pass the bill. By the way, the illegal guns that those mayors oppose, they’re your guns, after the Bloomberg crowd makes all guns illegal.

It’s a little off-thread, but here it goes: Authorities now believe that a man shot and killed by Deputies in Texas was the man who murdered Colorado’s State prison Chief. The catch? He’s a convicted felon with a long rapsheet, and felons are already prohibited from possessing firearms or ammo, aren’t they? Existing laws against what that scumbag did sure didn’t prevent him from carrying our his crimes, did they? All the left wants is for us to be disarmed, controlled by, and totally dependent on them and their bureaucracies just like in the USSR or in Cuba or North Korea today!
*BLEEP!* Forgot to put this in before i posted, here’s the link: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/23/investigators-man-killed-texas-called-suspect-colo/
These are the same people that say you can’t have voter ID laws requiring proof of citizenship because it will deny voters their right to vote. They want it both ways using the same logic.
I can’t wait for Mayor Bloomerbutt to start asking for background checks on people who want to buy Mounds, Snickers and Snickers ice cream bars…. just in case the buyer has diabetes or is going after a sugar buzz.
Jonn,
I must respectfully disagree with your position via-a-vis background checks. I can’t see a single valid use for them.
Of course, were I the President, I’d pull an Obama and issue an Executive Order that stopped all federal funding for all firearms laws, and strip the BATF of all of it’s powers except those needed to keep the place clean until Congress could eliminate it.
I see no valid reason for government at any level to in any way regulate firearms sales. Same with ammunition. No FFL’s, no paperwork, no laws, background checks, wait periods, whatever. If I can afford, then I ought to be able to buy it and carry it anywhere, concealed or open, unless the property owner posts a “no-gun” sign.
This society needs to move away from prophylactic regulations and laws that punish everyone, and restore our liberties fully. Use the law, instead, to hold people responsible for their OWN actions, but don’t punish all of us for the actions of a tiny percent of the population.

Yeah. What Tim said.
I am uncertain about the meaning of “background check.” If it means criminal records check, I’m all for it. A felon loses (in most states) his right to vote and I have no problem with his losing his right to own a firearm legally.
#1- If it comes out of Bloomin’idiots mouth, it’s a lie.
#2- And with Bloomin’idiot’s money behind it, it’s a big lie.
I detect the stench of a Hollywierd staged scenerio. Rent an authentic set location, and a few extras to romp in the background. Hire an unknown actor, dress him in authentic worn costume, put a prop in his hands and give him teleprompter lines to read. Ta daaaa. A sound bite that will fool the local fly-over country yokels, and cause them to flood their Kongress Kritter’s phone lines and emails. Said KK’s are now persuaded that their constituants want registered background checks, and vote for it. Bill passes and is signed into law by El Prez. Libtard elitists problem solved!
Well, all I have to say is, FUCK YOU!! Not only NO, but Fuckin’Hell No!

A lot of criminals htere, but they are dems so it dosent matter.
I SO want to plop a whipped cream pie right in Bloomerbutt’s face, and then unload a double-large regular Coke on his head.
Bloomerbags is such a control freak, he’s almost in the range of obssessive compulsive disorder stuff. Think about it for second.
He probably jumps if a car backfires anywhere near him. Is he the one who wanted to take pointy-end kitchen knives away from people?
I’m tellin’ you, the man is on the edge of nutballism.
YOu guys are going to REALLY enjoy this article from NSSF about Bloomberg and his out-of-control behavior:

“Is he the one who wanted to take pointy-end kitchen knives away from people”? That would be him, along with regulating pain meds for hospital patients, apparently their doctors don’t know what they’re doing. And, restricting formula sent home with new mothers and newborns, because they should all be breast-feeding, cuz Doomberg says so. And, of course, the big soft drink ban, and the salt ban.
Doomberg has gone way beyond “the edge of nutballism”.
I guess I am wondering where the tallboy can of PBR or Schmidts is?
2/17 Air Cav: unless I’m misreading 18 USC 922, I think a convicted felon loses the right to legally possess a firearm nationwide. But I could be misreading it.
@12 UpNorth, so he does all these idiotic things, they get publicized, and people still elect him mayor?
Well, I can only say you elect the idiot you deserve to have.
I’m curious why you think 100% background checks is a goal worthy of increasing the scope of the federal government. Is there any evidence that private resale of firearms is such a significant source of guns used in crimes that trying to crack down on it justifies adding any more government intrusion into the lives of otherwise law-abiding citizens? All the law would do is inconvenience those of us who are sticklers for following the letter of the law and make felons of those of us who don’t want to bother. It would have no noticeable impact on violent crime. Oh, but for the leftists it would have the desired effect of fracturing the gun rights community, so congratulations for playing along with the enemies of liberty.
Obviously, some of you aren’t catching the sarcasm.
I was suffering from coffee deprivation. 🙂
That’s my story, anyway…..
This is on my front page this afternoon. Bloomerbags is on a roll, spending money like it’s going out of style, to have HIS way. POLITE WARNING: If you are easily annoyed, put breakables and spillables out of reach before reading.

I don’t know where he gets his “90% of the public” statistic, but I’m NOT one of that 90%.
Read the whole thing.
Analysis of Mayor Bloomerbutt: out of control, paranoid, and needs to be put on tranquilizers.
If dipshit has been using guns all his life, then he has had very poor teachers since his finger is in the trigger well
Jabatam,
That was my first thought also. Why do these libs always have their fingers on the trigger?
@1 – My thoughts as well, especially since ol’ Chickenlooper was in the act of signing our unconstitutional gun bills into law when he heard about the murder. Especially ironic when it turns out that said murderer was the son of Chickenlooper’s very good friend.
#20 and #21 – re: finger on the trigger.
Don’t think so, go to YouTube and enlarge the video frame.
YES! universal background checks…
Because we want NY and CA gunlaws imposed on us in other states!
We want to be a prohibited person for speaking to a therapist 20 years ago.
We want to have our property seized for a DUI in the 70s!
We want to have our civil rights stripped over a smoking cessation class! (addiction treatment clause)
REMEMBER WOUNDED KNEE! Federal Gun control wherein ~300 unarmed women and children were slaughtered by FEDERAL SOLDIERS in the name of GUN CONTROL!
