Algeria says terrorists were well-prepared

| January 22, 2013

I’m still in shock that the Obama Administration is calling what happened in Algeria this last week a terrorist attack, but anyway, in case you missed the news, 38 hostages were killed along with 29 terrorists, according to the Algerian government. Stars & Stripes reports that they’re still looking for 5 missing hostages. 3 Americans were killed and 7 escaped. From another S&S report;

“You may have heard the last words of the terrorist chief,” Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal told reporters. “He gave the order for all the foreigners to be killed, so there was a mass execution, many hostages were killed by a bullet to the head.”

Only one of the hostages who were executed were Algerian.

[The prime minister] said the Islamists included a former driver at the complex from Niger and that the militants “knew the facility’s layout by heart.” The vast complex is deep in the Sahara, 800 miles (1,300 miles) south of Algiers, with a network of roads and walkways for the hundreds of workers who keep it running.

The attackers wore military uniforms, according to state television, bolstering similar accounts by former hostages that the attackers didn’t just shoot their way in.

They’re guessing that the raid was in response to French intervention in Mali, as if terrorists need a reason to kill people. In another S&S article, one eye witness to the French attacks on the Islamists in Mali says that some of the fighters appeared to be boys as young as 15 years old.

While adults stayed mostly indoors, terrified to venture out, the rebels in Diabaly encouraged the youth to wander around, offering candy and money, asking them to sit and have tea.

As if we need another reason to hate Islamists. There should really be a global war against those terrorist guys…oh, wait.

I’m confused – or maybe I’m missing something?

3 Americans were killed and 7 escaped? And 4 Americans were killed in Benghazi and the Obamanation Administration still hasn’t classified it as a terrorist attack.

Maybe they have the whole workplace violence and mass shooting definition confused with the latest crisises.

Emboldened Islamic terrorists involved in terrorism because of inept President Obama administration policies, inaction, and negligence?

INCONCEIVABLE!

Flagwaver

You keep using that word — I do not think it means what you think it means.

UpNorth

Wait!! Weren’t we told in the run-up to the election that Al Quaeda was on the run? They were no longer a threat? That with the Arab Spring, everything was unicorn farts and skittles? Wha’ happened, dude?

I, too, am shocked. I pegged this workplace violence myself. I guess the international flavor and the fact that it didn’t occur in the US (like the Fort Hood massacre), forced the admin to use the T word. (As for Benghazi, the admin could not have failed to prevent or adequately to respond to a terroristic attack if it wasn’t a terrorist attack. So, it WASN’T a terrorist attack, dammit.)

OWB

It seems that previously the admin had said that aQ was decimated. Could be correct, since the word actually means reduced by 10%. (What? Just because they hope that there are no peoples left that understand what words mean…)
