Tax hikes coming?
The Washington Times reports that John “get me a tissue” Boehner, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal says that President Obama has no intention of cutting government spending to balance the budget;
Boehner added that President Obama continues to maintain that America’s federal deficit is caused not by governmental overspending but by “a health-care problem.” Said Boehner, “They blame all of the fiscal woes on our health-care system.” Boehner told Obama, “Clearly we have a health-care problem, which is about to get worse with Obamacare. But, Mr. President, we have a very serious spending problem.” Obama eventually replied, “I’m getting tired of hearing you say that.”
I’m getting tired of hearing that you don’t believe it, Mr. President. Well, the article should be corrected, because the President is cutting government spending – in veteran health care.
In another article, the Washington Times reports that the Democrats in Congress are looking for tax hikes, but not spending cuts;
Democrats are bubbling over with ideas for raking in additional federal revenue even as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell declared Sunday that “the tax issue is behind us.”
But clearly it’s not over for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, who on Sunday described the revenue increase negotiated in last week’s deal on the “fiscal cliff” as “significant” but “not enough.”
I think it’s strange that the only cuts in spending that anyone can agree upon are cuts to veteran healthcare. Well, and defense, in general. What’s even stranger is the number of veterans who support these ass-clowns. And I mean the ass-clowns who call themselves Conservatives, too, but then collapse in a crying jag for the cameras.

How many times have we heard “balanced approach”? $41 in taxes to $1 in spending cuts certainly meets that criteria…Man, we are going down and going down hard. Can’t borrow trillions at low interest rates forever.
We need to start with a wholesale gutting of federal agencies, czars and other unelected jackwagons.
What I would especially like to see are two pieces of legislation.
1.) Congress shall pass no law which pertains to the citizens which does not also apply to the congress. Congress shall pass no law pertaining to the congress which does not apply to the citizens.
2.) No agency shall make any rule, regulation, finding or any other such issuance without first obtaining, in each individual case, the permission of both houses of Congress.

Why, exactly, would Boehner expect him to see any sort of spending problem when he has no qualms whatsoever over spending taxpayer dollars so lavishly on himself? Of course he doesn’t see a spending problem, only lots of cake.
Tax hikes are not coming … there ARE here:
Afordable Care Act = TAX;
Pay Roll – TAXED;
Income – TAXED;
Eliminating Deductions = TAX;
and anything else THEY can get their hands on = TAX!
My wife and I have been kicked in the Fiscal Jewels!
And Washington is still spending like a “Drunken Sailor!”
PS: I would like to apologize to all those who were, are, or may be in the future a “Drunken Sailor”. My previous comments were wholly insensitive and not called for. It is my experience that a “Drunken Sailor” would never spend like Washington. Typically, when a “Drunken Sailor” runs out of money, he returns to the ship.
@5 – In this case, the “Drunken Sailor” has returned to the ship to borrow more money from his buddies with no intention of paying it back, only to leave the ship and return to town and commence a spending frenzy.

One of my friends got a raise of $100 in her salary that went into effect on the first of the year. She makes about $30,000 a year. Yeah, in her first paycheck, she is now bringing home less money than she did before her raise.

Aside from Defense spending, has anything else ever been cut? Ever?
Well, there’s still:
military retirements to cut.
Tax-free pay for service in war zones.
Soldiers’ & Sailors’ homes.
Family programs.
Hazardous Duty Pay (they volunteered).
Training programs like Ranger School (too long, not enough women).
Flight school (too expensive, too long, not enough women). Combat Training Centers.
short floats (less than 12 months).
Superfund helping pay for the abatement of pre-EPA ungreen practices.
Real property maintenance and upgrades.
National Historice Site maintenance.
Refit from duty in A-stan and Iraq.
Recall the Panetta’s single greatest contribution was to work with the military’s top brass and civilians to ensure American citizens who serve in the military could not vote.
Military and veteran healthcare isn’t piss in a bucket compared to what can be cut.
Tax hikes? Probably. A Dollar collapse? Very likely.
The fact that no one in the media, at least outside of smaller reporting outlets that is, seems to be covering the 700 trillion derivative bubble that’s about to burst. That bubble is 12+ times the GDP of the entire world. When that happens, it’ll make the civil unrest in Greece look like a frat party in comparison.
