Failed presidential candidate may replace failed presidential candidate

| December 17, 2012

In the event that failed presidential candidate John Kerry gets the call to be Secretary of State, The Hill speculates that failed presidential candidate Michael Dukakis may be resurrected to replace him;

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) needs to find someone to fill Kerry’s seat until a special election can be held in the late spring or early summer.

Dukakis, who is 79, has remained politically active. He campaigned for Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) this fall and teaches at Northeastern University.

That makes complete sense because Massachusetts is the graveyard of failed political careers, I’m sure there are plenty of political zombies roaming the streets there that aren’t Kennedys.

    I don’t even have the words. The only “good” news is these political retreads aren’t worth a damn to actually run for anything. Dukakis won’t stay around as anything other than a placeholder, an elder statesman whose time has passed.

    Case in point: In 2002, Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN) died unexpectedly in a tragic accident. After the farce that was his memorial political rally–er…funeral–the Democrats turned to none other than Walter Mondale, who–despite the sympathy vote–still couldn’t pull off a win in a very purple state.

    Nah, he won’t make it–he’s not corrupt enough.

    Jesus wept, and the hits just keep coming.

    And Willie Horton rejoiced.

    NHS: Not corrupt enough? You’ve got to give him some time. Let him grow into the role. Never underestimate the depths of malfeasance of which a Massachusetts politician is capable. Have faith.

    Now, pass the rubbing alcohol and let’s toast Kitty.

    Normal people dispose of garbage. The Democratic party serves it for the main course decades later.

    As an unfortunate member of the PRoM there are more reasons every day to get the h3ll out of this state….I was hoping to see Scott Brown get another shot when we unload Kerry on the nation, but I suspect Brown might not be all that enthusiastic when the folks here thought a lying sack of sh1t like Lizzie was a better choice…

    They were talking about Teddy “Let’s go for a ride” K.’s widow as a possibility as well. Got all the “Royal” family lovers here all atwitter….. pathetic. hoping Scott Brown runs again in the special election if the twit takes the job at State.

    There is one reason for all of this–and I mean all of it. On election day, a few million more Americans (and some Mexicans) voted for obama than for Romney. This crap is just getting underway. He’s still in his first term.
