One of our ninjas sent us this video entitled “Austin Stands With Gaza“, I guess it was taken yesterday. Unless you turn your speakers off, it’s NSFW.
I’m still trying to figure out how “Zionism is racism” since the Jews and the Palestinians are all Semites. And then, somehow the video goes on a jag about the drone war in Afghanistan, Yemen and Pakistan. What does that have to do with Gaza? Well, unless you think we’re fighting a war against a religion instead of fighting a war against murderers, that is.

Look, if all they want is just ice for Palestine, and many a sign says just that, why not give them ice? What the heck, right?
These people deliberately ignore the Israelis killed by the terrorists. I got into an argument with one of my friends on Facebook, and he said straight out that “it doesn’t matter that Israelis are being killed” because they are occupiers. Hogwash.
“Zionism” is the belief and movement to have Jews live in Israel. The Jews who supported, and appeared at Iran’s anti-Israel conference a few years ago are anti-Zionist. They believe that if Jews rule in Israel, G-d will end the world. The End-times beliefs of Jews, Christians, and Muslims are the same in that ‘G-d’s People’ rule Biblical Israel.
“Semitism” is about race, but I’m thinking it’s more about the cultural origin of one’s religion, as Jews and Muslims aren’t confined to just one race/color group. One can be anti-zionist without being anti-semitic.
Of course, it is Austin, which is the San Francisco of the Midwest and South. More than likely, these kids are just doing this for extra credit. Offer them extra credit and they’ll be out protesting the death of Hostess.

The Palestinians if they wanted “peace” could have agreed to the Two State off by the United Nations when it was made. Instead they allowed their fellow Islamic neighbors with the help of former Nazis to seek to destroy Israel and the Jews. It was not the other way around, though I think we can all see where some of the Israeli took some extreme steps with the British under the existence of the Mandate.
Since the very birth of the nation of Israel they have been under attack by Palestinians and their puppet masters in Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and Iran. Yet Israel is the bad one…
There will never be real peace there, not until the likes of Hamas and others are gone.

Austin was and is a nice place, except how the developers have overbuilt the place. There are lots of empty places in Texas they could build. these type of demonstrations were going on 40 years ago, this isn’t news. They also has Libertarians, Marxists, and Klan members out there. Usual nut cases.

@3 got it right. It’s Austin, it’s what they do in Austin. If it was College Station there might be cause for concern.
The beat kept me listening almost halfway through it. Otherwise, it was just the same idiots – once you’ve seen them there is no need to see them again.
Their ignorance might be a bit easier to tolerate if they at least showed a modicum of gratitude for being able to act outrageously in public. But no – they simply expect that magically they will always have the freedom to do and say stupid things without paying a thing for that freedom.

That’s the way I heard it, too. See there were these developers and they said, “Hey, let’s build. No one will buy because they want to let the folks who are all ready there keep the city to themselves. But that’s okay. And zoning, well, that’s not a problem because we’ll just disregard whatever zoning retrictions and limitations that would hamper us. Whadday say, who’s with me?” And then, with a deafening roar of gung-ho approval, all of the developers went out and overbuilt Austin. Yep, that’s what I hear happened.
I always ask turds like these two questions:
1) What is the historical and ancient capitol of Palestine?
2) Why aren’t the surrounding Arab states giving their Arab brothers any land, or welcoming them into their society?
Tricky huh? Never was a capitol…or an actual state, and the palestinians are considered ignorant low-lifes among other Arabs, mainly because of their JEWISH descent 🙂

Funny how that works.
I just got off the phone with my sister, who fell and broker her elbow a month ago. She told me, in plain English, that there was never any reason for the Arabs who were living in what is now Israel to leave in 1948. They could have become part of the population and the culture, but they refused to do so, and instead moved themselves and their families into what were basically slums, which has resulted in entire generations growing up with the ‘why me’ whine as part of their popular mythos. She said the Syrian refugees camped out in Turkey are smart enough to get rid of al Qaeda as well as the Syrian government, but they are refugees because they are lazy and don’t want to do the work. She doesn’t have a whole lot of sympathy for any of them over there. She also said that the kids coming into college wanting to be doctors can’t do college algebra, can’t write comprehensible term papers in English, and don’t know how to study, and they are all products of our public school system. Everything is dumbed down so that everyone can pass to the next grade level and nobody gets their feelings hurt, but the result is children in adult bodies who are functionally illiterate, who have to take remedial English and remedial math as freshmen in college, don’t understand why it’s all so HARD, and don’t want to do the work. This is why it now takes six years — count ’em — to get a four-year undergraduate degree. And they want to be doctors. Man, I was so ready to get back to work that I took extra hours and went to summer school to finish in four semesters after I get out of the Navy on my first hitch. I already had three semesters before I went in. I also managed to make the Dean’s list every semester. I think the Navy did me a hell of a lot of good. They gave back Gaza and the West Bank. Made concessions. And they still get “rocketed” by people who could be tossed if the populace had any backbone or desire.

@18: I think I would be heavy handed, too, if I had rockets raining down on me every day of the year. The rocket attacks from Gaza aren’t new, they have been happening every day, for years, but it only gets noticed by the outside world when Israel gets tired of it and decides to spank the spoiled brat. Then, the media takes notice and the palistinians start crying to the UN, and anyone else that will listen, about how the big meanies in Israel are attacking us. That methodology has worked many times over the years, to get the palestinian warlords more free money and sympathy from the international community, along with condemnation of Israel, in the past, however, I think they have over-played that hand this time. The only ones buying that bilge, anymore, is college kids and old hippies.

@ #17: Yes, and this has been going on for quite a while. Even my step-daughter (the one who now IS a doc) had to spend an extra year doing remedial math etc in college after us having been told that she had the highest IQ in the public school system, although they probably told many people that lie.
We knew 20 years ago that our school system was horridly corrupt when she chewed me out for correctly using the word “Oriental” in a sentance. That was the first time I was ever called a racist! Yes, she had been taught in school to do exactly what she did. (Oh, yes, she got a lesson on acceptable behavior that day!)
Point being that if our schools cannot teach simple math to children it should be no surprise that they also don’t teach history. Or complicated stuff like the sovereignty of nations including Israel.
So damn tired of people who have no idea what they are talking about speaking on things with authority. Show me any country in the world that would put up with rockets raining down on their heads, villages and schools on a near-daily basis. Freakin’ idiots. Sorry, used to live there and have a lot of friends still in Israel. Don’t mean to be so one-sided but well, it is hard. @23, Yeah the public school system sucks. My 10 year old got into a fight at school because one kid kept telling her that since she is Alaskan then she wasn’t an American. She kept telling the kid that Alaska is part of the United States and that her Dad is an American Soldier to no avail.

There was an anti-Israel protest in the Loop last night. Snarled up traffic and cluttered up the sidewalks so that no one else could use them.
Today, there will be a pro-Israel demonstration in the Loop. As someone living in Israel told a WGN reporter “I had to move because they were bomoing my neighborhood. I think we have a right to fight back.”
