“I’m so glad we had that storm last week”

| November 7, 2012

ROS sends us a video of Chris Matthews expressing his pleasure that there are more dead people in the world and we had that storm last week, because it catapulted Obama into the lead;

You can see Rachel Maddow try to stop him from making his blunt point, although he’s not that far off. Not only did Obama get to strut around and act presidential but the Romney camp went virtually silent while he did it. And maybe those dead people in NY and NJ would have voted for Romney anyway, though not likely.

Good ‘ol Tingles, putting the “ASS” in class once again.

Expect more of the same gloating for the next four years.

Twist

Americans are dead because of the storm and this fuck stick is happy about it. Chris, please oh please suck-start a 50 Cal.

Devtun

Saw this segment live, and I immediately noticed how uncomfortable Maddow and the rest of the panel became…Awkward – time to go to break!

Frank

“… and maybe those dead people in NY and NJ would have voted for Romney anyway, though not likely.”

I kinda doubt they’d have voted for Romney myself but being dead and all, I’m quite certain they voted for the BlightBringer™.

Ex-PH2

Doesn’t it come back and hit you in the face when you spit into the wind like that?

Sid

Thank you Chris Christie, RINO’s everywhere, and our public school system for the outcome of this election.

Nik

I mentioned this to someone, a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat who was treating the election like the superbowl. First they denied it happened….then they tried to explain it awa until I offered up the fact it’s easily viewable on YouTube. Then they got strangely quiet and changed the subject.

Ex-PH2

You know, as angry as Matthews looks all the time now, he almost seems to be building up to a stroke or something.

JP

I’d love to give him some face tingles…with my fist.

Chris Matthews expressing his pleasure that there are more dead people in the world
So does this mean the Left has found its “optimal” number of dead Americans?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

When Rachel Maddow has to be your barometer of appropriate speech I suspect your credibility has long since left you. Chris Matthews will continue to misinterpret the results of this election. Hopefully republicans don’t do the same and learn the appropriate lessons for 2014/2016. Mid-term adjustments can be most interesting.

DaveO

#11 Veritas: Matthews isn’t misinterpreting anything. He is just telling his people what to think. “Misintepretation” implies the ability to both think and retain thought. In a welfare state, thinking is work, and work is hard for the indolent.

Ex-PH2

Looks like Sandy’s follower has already hit the area. Maybe Matthews can find something even more inappropriate to say.

It isn’t just threatening to snow, it is snowing and sticking in many places. It’s not like the Japan quake last year, which was in March and had warmer weather ahead of it. This is mid-autumn, going into winter. Someone let us know just how tacky Matthews gets. Thanks.

JP76er

I’m sure the dead in NY & NJ did vote last night. In Chicago.

Ex-PH2

@14, for that matter, two dead people won election to offices in Florida and Alabama.

What can I say?

skh.pcola

I wish that I could “Like” comments…lots of great ones on this thread.

Insipid

President Obama did not “Act” Presidential, he WAS the President.

President Obama would of won, with or without Hurricane Sandy. He was already ahead in the polls at that point. Perhaps he won Florida because of his response to Hurricane Sandy.

But let’s be clear- it was his professional response to the crises that helped him, NOT the crises. If he had responded to it the way our former fuck-up in chief responded to Katrina, we’d be looking at President-elect Romney right now.

Furthermore, this whole he-won-because-of-Hurricane-Sandy excuse falls apart when you take into account that you received a WORSE thumping in the Senate. Because of the fact that Democrats had to defend so many more seats, it was felt that the Democrats would be lucky just to keep the Senate. Now we GAINED two seats. Not only that but Democrats gained 6 seats in the house and the only reason you didn’t lose the house was because of redistricting.

This was a rejection of tea party conservatism. You can deny reality all you want, make all the excuses you want, but that’s reality. You’d better come around to it.

MCPO USN NYC (Ret.)

Insipid … you are one class act!

B Woodman

Insippy, you’re like a bad (is there ever a good?) case of botulism.

Ex-PH2

This is the reason he got re-elected.

“The president won because he ran a permanent campaign, keeping his offices open in the battleground states from his 2008 campaign, tending his coalition assiduously, and because he relentlessly defined his opponent. His was the better campaign. The Democratic candidate of “hope and change” beat the big business Republican in the trenches, in one state after another.”
“President Obama’s tactical victory is clear when you look at the election returns. He has no grand mandate that comes out of Tuesday’s numbers. He has been re-elected, but his policies did not win the day. Voters didn’t turn their faces up to the vision he painted the way they did in 2008. When voters were asked which candidate had a vision for the future, Romney won that question in exit polls, 55 percent to 43 percent. Asked about Obama’s signature achievement, health care, voters did not approve. Forty-nine percent said they wanted it repealed in part or whole. Voters also said the federal government was too large.”

Basically, Obama never stopped campaigning from the get-go. His politics did not “win the day”, neither did his photo-ops. He just wore people down, starting the day he went to DC as a senator from Illinois.

Insipid

Give me a break. Romney has been campaigning for the past 6 years. News flash: ALL first term Presidents campaign for re-election, he did it nor more than anyone else.

When Bush won in 2004 he received 281 electoral votes and claimed that he had enormous capital. President Obama got 332 electoral votes last night. He has a mandate that the right refuses to recognize at its peril

MCPO USN NYC (Ret.)

Insipid …. calm down. You sound … well angry. Oh … that is the REVENGE talking … so sorry!

Eric

Wow Insipid, way to do the same thing every politician does: Totally change the subject of a conversation to talk about what you want to. (And Chief is right, you sound angrier about your guy winning than people are about Romney losing.)

You can’t defend what a scumbag says, so you talk about something completely different to continue the gloating of Chris Matthews.

And sorry to say but Obama started campaigning long before Romney, he never stopped since about 2006. (And yay for you guys…Joe Biden is going to run in 2016, which means he’ll start campaigning by Thanksgiving.)

At the end of the day, this is about Matthews getting away with saying something so abhorrent and he’ll get away with it because he’s an ass kisser of the mainstream liberal media.

Hondo

Don’t be surprised, Eric. Changing the subject to deflect attention is a standard leftist rhetorical tactic. It’s used whenever they cannot continue their argument based on fact.

Sippy does it quite often.

Ex-PH2

Well, well, well. There are truly no surprises left with Shortandstupid. I was being nice…even gracious…to someone who obviously didn’t deserve it.

I simply posted a quote from an article by a liberal writer in a liberal rag, plus the link to the full article, which was researched and had statistics to back up the writer’s point. I can come up with the same basic analysis from a conservative writer in a conservative newsletter rag. I agreed, for valid and well-thought reasons posted with my agreement, and that lame-brained, knotty-pated measle pock couldn’t even accept that.

This, my friends, only proves my point: that Shortnstupid is so abominably self-involved and stupid, he doesn’t even know he’s alive.

It doesn’t matter that his dog won; he still can’t hump its ass.

Ex-PH2

Registricting? That was done to favor the Democrats. It didn’t.

Gerrymandering doesn’t always work the way the gerrymandering peones want it to work.

Twist

Is Insipid realy defending Matthew’s callous remark by saying that we are saying that Obama won because of Hurricane Sandy (which he was the first one to say that)?

Ex-PH2

I occurred to me that Matthews, with his poorly suppressed hatred and anger at just about everything, has just wished catastrophe on himself.

That aphorism — don’t spit into the wind — is just another way of saying ‘what goes around, comes around’.

Ex-PH2

This may be an answer to Shortnspiteful’s anger:

“Chinese researchers recently compared the brain scans of average Internet users to the brain scans of Internet obsessives. The small study found changes in the areas responsible for decision-making, emotions, and self-control – the same areas that are affected in substance abusers.”
— extracted from an article this morning on the internet news section.

Insipid

I did not change the subject. The original blog post by Jonn had this statement:

=====

“You can see Rachel Maddow try to stop him from making his blunt point, although he’s not that far off. Not only did Obama get to strut around and act presidential but the Romney camp went virtually silent while he did it. And maybe those dead people in NY and NJ would have voted for Romney anyway, though not likely.”

=====

So I was addressing something written in the original blog. In fact i quoted it directly when i wrote “He did not ‘act’ Presidential, he WAS the President.”

If you don’t read past the video, that’s on you, but I didn’t “change the subject”.

Twist

“ROS sends us a video of Chris Matthews expressing his pleasure that there are more dead people in the world and we had that storm last week, because it catapulted Obama into the lead”

That seems to be the subject and yet you completely ignored it. By ignoring it you look like you agree with what Matthews said.

Ex-PH2

Does this look like Shortnspiteful?

Here’s a link to Matthews today:

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/11/07/matthews-apologizes-saying-im-so-glad-we-had-storm-last-week

See, now he has to explain himself if he wants to keep his job. He has a habit of stretching the truth to suit his own needs. He has claimed that he lives in DC, when in fact, he lives in Chevy Chase Village, MD, east of Chevy Chase proper, not in DC.

Unless you’re someone like Steve Colbert, in the business of making snarky remarks, poking fun at people, and engaging in satire, saying something extraordinarily crass like this while you’re doing your job is a bad idea. It makes me wonder just how crass he is about the troops when he thinks no one is watching.

The weather on the east coast has now gone from bad to worse. Nantucket has had winds up to 68MPH; 13.5″ of snow fell in Clintonville, CT overnight. The cleanup is, and will continue to be, hampered by winter coming early in many parts of this country, because there is blizzard warning in Montana, Idaho and North Dakota, which translates to bitter cold and bad weathre for the midwest, and that all moves east from here.

If Mr. Matthews loses his job over what he said so thoughtlessly, I have no sympathy for him. He brought it on himself.

Eric

I doubt his job will be in jeopardy, or ever was. As long as he keeps his lips affixed to Obama’s backside, his job is safe, just like oh so many other MSM people.
