Dinguses in the weeds
This is what really torques me off about the gun control discussion; The people who want to restrict gun ownership, don’t even know what they’re talking about. For example, The Mr. Wolf sends us this screen shot from the New York Times. See if you can spot the Glock in this picture;
No, neither can I. I see what looks like some version of Colt’s 1911 with a scary-looking competition trigger that has holes in it, and a scary looking competition ramp sights, but, no Glock. It looks like NYT has taken the picture down, but regardless. Now dingus #2 doesn’t know what high capacity magazines are called, but he knows that he doesn’t like them;
Yeah, if you can find me a magazine that fires a whole bunch of bullets at once, I want it, I don’t care what it costs.
They can’t speak the language, and they’re not even sure what it is that they don’t like, just they know that if they call it “common sense gun legislation” people will line up for it, because of their emotion-fueled opposition to being shot by the millions of us who own guns and don’t shoot people.

Cenk Uygur loves gun control…without it his Turkish ancestors couldn’t have pulled off the Armenian Genocide.
Can anyone explain to me why we should listen to a person expound on a subject who says in his first sentence he knows nothing of the subject? Not just guns but any subject? oy…
Flamethrowers.
The new-new thing.
No magazine, no bullets, just fire.
Then they’ll outlaw hi-capacity liquid containers….
High capacity eating utensils are making people a bunch of fatasses. Ban them.
That means the sidearm the Army issued me in the early 80’s was a glock. I knew my instructors were full of sh!t
Man, wish the military would go back to issuing those sweet glocks.
Shouldn’t this entry be titled ‘Dinguses ON weeds’ ??
A magazine that can fire all it’s bullets at the same time? Wasn’t that the metal storm weapon system they had on youtube a while back? I mean, if the kid had one of those in the theater I might be a whole lot more willing to believe the conspiracy bs.
Listening to the talking heads describe “assault rifles” makes me sick. According to their definition my .22 squirl rifle is an assault rifle.
The first picture is a bit blurry but it looks exactly like my Springfield 1911 Mil Spec .45 with the standard drilled performance trigger. Sadly for liberals familiarity breeds safety, which explains why these anti-gun fanatics are so terrified of something they’ve never owned, much less used. Luckily the overwhelming response to the anti-gun nonsense being spewed from Bloomberg and his coalition of tyrants has been more focused on what could have prevented this, and not how to keep guns off the streets and out of the hands of law-abiding citizens, despite the media’s best efforts.
Have posted this link over at the “false flags” topic, but it may be even more appropriate here. Seems that there is another view being expressed by Ice-T on the subject:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/07/23/ice-t_defends_gun_rights_the_last_form_of_defense_against_tyranny.html
It’s pretty clear that the interviewer was not prepared to argue against the “last defense against tyranny” explanation!
Huh–that looks a lot like my .45. Who knew all along it was a Glock?
Does this mean that I should have been buying .40 ammo when I went to the range to practice? I’s so cornfuzzed…
Ignorance is bliss with 99.99% of the anti-gun crowd. They don’t know a damn thing about firearms, except they’re scary. Admit they know nothing about firearms, except that they’re scary. Yet, they feel they are an authority to criticize and disparage others who own firearms, because they’re scary. Driven purely by emotion, no logic necessary, yet they try to act as though their argument is based on logic versus emotion with their “common sense” crappola. Since when has an anti-gun type ever been accused of having “common sense”.
Painful to listen to.
But the honesty was refreshing.
Seems I always end up posting this link when this topic comes but, but here goes again (The Journalist’s Guide to Firearms Identification): http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2010/11/robert-farago/journalists-guide-to-firearms-identification/
Is there some kind of law out there that says journalists must know absolutely nothing about guns to be journalists? It certainly seems like there must be, because they seem absolutely clueless most of the time about the subject. 🙁
something like 42,000 people died in car accidents.
Fuck. cars are dangerous. I have a right to live.
Cars should be banned.
Swimming pools kill more people than guns- no joke, its a true statistic.
Therefore, pools must be banned. SAVE TEH CHILDREN!
Swimming pools? Swimming pools are useless without water. How many drownings are there in America? Too many. We should ban water!
Hell, I’ll take it a step further…an average of 195k people a year die from medical malpractice, yet these assholes want to tell me that me keeping a gun in my home is a health hazard? Fuck you, Dr. Shitdick.
Let’s use California for an example of “gun control”. All the laws are written by people who hate guns, are afraid of guns and have no understanding of how they even work. In the past, they’ve written laws to ban a gun used in a crime- but wrote down what the media said about the gun so they didn’t even ban the right gun!
CA has some of the highest numbers of violence per capita– because the criminals know most folks can’t carry a gun in public- only the few cops and criminals can…and do you know how many cops don’t bother to carry off duty?
I had a deputy DA come into the range/ store where I train people…she wants to learn to shoot and get a CCW permit because she put a jail who has made threats to kill her. (I’ve only had suspects make threats to me about a hundred times)…but because of the strict laws in CA, that deputy DA may not be able to get a CCW permit!
As for “assualt rifles” look at how many are sold and are in the hands of good citizens- compared to how many actually get used in a crime- the last I heard it was less that 1%.
Don’t give em any ideas, Flagwaver. Remember Nathan Zohner and “dihydrogen monoxide” (1997).
If they TRULY wanted to get gun usage down, all they’d have to do is put a tax of 10 bucks per bullet on ammo. I could see BATF or some agency putting out a ‘rule’ initiating that (similar to EPA rules).
200 bucks for a 20-rd mag? Ammo would become the new ‘crack’…
My son was able to purchase an M4 at 18 but has to wait until he’s 21 for a pistol and CCW. How does that make any sense?
About as much as being allowed to sign a contract, vote, and fight in the military at 18 but not be allowed to buy a beer.
One of my favorite videos from years ago that shows just what you can hide in your pants:
Congress is going to avoid gun control issue like its the plague – politicians consider this way too radioactive and a career ender. These guys have long memories and saw backlash Presidential candidate Al Gore received from Dems & GOP voters when he broached stricter gun control in aftermath of Columbine shootings. Dems felt 2000 presidential election was theirs to win and believe Gore sabotaged it partly by “talking guns”. Romney and Obama won’t repeat Gore’s performance.
Even Bill O’Reilly last night called AK- 47’s “heavy weapons” He also said that anyone could buy bazookas and machine guns. My god, there is no shortage of ill-infomed media people!
Cenk Uygur is a fool on the channel run by the man who invented the internet….if he leaned any more left he’d fall over….
Cars and weapons deaths are minor compared to deaths from being a smoker or a lardass or both…. (CDC estimates 600,000 die from smoking and obesity), cheeseburgers and smokes should be banned if we really want to save lives..guns are a joke at 2.5% of this total…
at least he didn’t call it a clip…
I asked someone at work today to define an assault rifle that she claimed she adamantly wanted to ban, and her answer was “you know, like not a normal gun.” Frankly didn’t surprise me since what she was really thinking is what most banners are really thinking – “I don’t need to speak intelligently on this, just ban ALL guns.”
Trains kill people, especially when they jump in front of one. Let’s ban trains.
Planes kill people when they crash. Let’s ban trains.
Tornadoes kill people. And they’re bad for your health. Let’s ban tornadoes.
Cancer kills people. And it’s bad for your health. Let’s ban cancer.
You can have all the gun control laws you want. It won’t stop people who are dead set on abusing weaponry.
The Duffle Blog has the right idea. They have created a petition an Change dot org to call on the Obama administration to ban all gatherings of ten or more people, to include children. F’n hilarious.
@24 – Your son has too much money. All I could afford at 18 was a 7.65 Mauser Argentino…. $50 in the classifieds.
In Kimber we trust!
