Feats of Clay…

| July 10, 2012

Think about it for a moment: If that black half of Obama’s brain is as brilliant as all his impassioned people-of-color and liberal, white devotees credit him with, then the other half must be the most lacking white intellect ever to occupy the Oval Office. Seriously, folks, we’ve been told for years now that this supposedly all-knowing, Athena-wise character, Obama, who seems to have sprung like that goddess, full-blown from some unknown head of Whoziss, is the brightest light in every room, if not every country in the world. Yet, through the past three-plus years, we mere mortals have witnessed national and global events that lead us to believe this bright, shining god has some really big feats of clay. And perhaps an intellect of the same sticky substance.

Far from the ObaMoses he presented himself as being to the world, a tan, man-god who could, among other feats, command the seas to do his bidding, our pinto-gened president, has revealed himself to be much more like the pale, foiled and wet-footed King Canute than the desert-darkened biblical savior of god’s chosen people. Yeah, his Canutian feats are all wet now and they appear to be swelling painfully and perhaps fatefully as this Janus-like, dubious deity finds it increasingly difficult to show first one face and then another, even to the shrinking crowds of ambrosia drinkers (that’s Kool-Aid for those of you out there in Rio Linda) who seem to be awakening. They, somewhat later than the rest of us, are becoming aware of the growing odor of this guy’s malodorous feats when we catch him with his political sneakers off.

Yes, even among some of the fervent disciples, there is a growing realization that a sun-bright brilliant, black cerebral hemisphere combined with a truly dim-bulb white hemisphere (and yes, as whites, surely we all must accept the collective blame for that failure in spite of his being granted every affirmative action, educational advantage our nation has to offer) is going to yield a really mediocre result in governance and leadership, somewhere at the level of say, um, maybe an admirably and slightly above-grade performance community organizer, hmm? Perhaps even a mediocre, present-voting, Democrat state senator.

But that could only be in Illinois or California, of course.
In 2012, Publicus Americanus, is awakening to its own 2008 folly of believing that a god had returned to earth to save us from our myriad follies. Almost four years into the political continuum, they have had ample opportunity to learn one of the fundamental lessons of the ancients:
Men who would be gods all too often trod across our world with feats of clay.

Feats = feets??

SFC Holland

No, feats is correct. feats as in accomplishments or acts.

also, pinto – gened? I don’t like the guy, but damn. That reads pretty racist to me. I guess it would be more of a slur if he was hispanic. Still, I found this hard to follow.

NHSparky

Oh, shit–you done pissed off insipid now. Shrieking cries of, “RACISM!!!” in 3…2…1…

And if a sitting president is in a statistical tie this far out, this bodes not well to the current resident of the White House.

SecretSquid

Love the site — long time reader, and first time poster.

But I have to flat-out disagree with you and say that I am frankly disapointed with you. This rant is just laden and dripping with bias and flat out racism that is far too evident in the far right circles. If Obama wasn’t black and still Democrat, you would still dislike him, but you wouldn’t be bringing race int it.

I’m not saying that the Obama Administration has not been disapointed, and has been unable to accomplish much (the reasons as to why and how much the admin is responsible is a seperate discussion), but damn dude.

Your argument has more credibility if you attack the man’s policies, and not try these very very thinly veiled race-rants.

I grew up in the deep south of Mississippi and Louisiana. I had a brother and two uncles who were part of the Church of Jesus Christ Christian (aka. the Aryan Nations). In high school I couldn’t find South Dakota on a map, but I could recite the “15 words” in my sleep. Long diatribes like this remind me of sleepy days in Sebastapol, sitting in church and hearing the preacher drone on about the pure Aryan race and Eve’s carnal sin with the serpent that led to the existence of the mud people. It certainly brings back a lot of memories.

It was my time in the Army that actually made me stop thinking like this and question everything I had ever been taught. I completely disagree with you on pretty much every point that you failed to make.

But thanks for bringing back some old memories. If you are ever in Utah, lookup the Silent Aryan Warriors (SAW). You’ll fit right in and have a hell of a time.

Okay, SS–why is it okay for him and his sycophants to bring race into it (You criticized Obama? RACIST!!!) but not for us?

Are you honestly saying that he would have been taken as seriously had he been white? Would he even have been taken seriously in the 2008 primaries, or would he be another perennial wannabe/marginal candidate like Kucinich, Larouche, Huntsman, Paul, etc?

He got elected for exactly two reasons, and two reasons only–1, he was black. 2–after 8 years of Bush, the country wanted someone/anyone else. Most of the Dems in Congress got elected in 2006 and 2008 based on their “Hate Bush” strategy, including my former Congresswoman, Carol Shea-Porter (or Che-Pelosi, as I call her.)

And when we found out what kind of shitstorm the Democrats had in mind for us, we threw a whole assload of them out in 2010, and looks like there are going to be a lot more having to update their resumes come November, including Obama.

Bottom line–we tried criticizing the man’s policies, and they used race as a shield to deflect it or attack those who would criticize or question this administration.

Goose, gander, shit like that.

I’m with Squid, I’m new here for certain not a long time reader or poster but these kinds of posts do little to advance the argument sir. Indeed they almost play directly into the Obama camp’s pointing out that a lot of opposition to him is because some white people are uncomfortable having a black president….

Obama has done nothing of consequence as president, he did nothing of consequence as a senator either but none of that is because he is black it’s because he is a liberal in centrist’s clothing….so neither the liberals or moderates believe him at the end of the day….keep to the issues of debt, no job creation, failure to end the wars as promised, whatever you like that is issue based and I will agree wholeheartedly…otherwise this seems awkward at best and outright racist at worst….sorry to offend, that is not my intent.

NHSparky

a lot of opposition to him is because some white people are uncomfortable having a black president

I wouldn’t say a lot, and I don’t give a shit about his skin color. I’d have no issue voting for a Condi Rice, Allan West, Herman Cain, Michael Steele, etc.

The MSM and Democrats have used his race. They’ve bleated that anyone who opposes his POLICIES does so because they fear a black man.

I don’t fear black people. I fear a socialist state, which is what Obama as the titular head of the Democrats wants. I fear a man who pisses on the Constitution and bypasses Congress to further his agenda, like Begala’s, “Stroke of the pen, law of the land–pretty cool.”

But most of all, I fear the ignorant who would hide behind the man’s race or use it as a cudgel. His resume is pathetically sparse. He had a pathetically weak record in the IL Senate, and an even weaker one in the US Senate, yet so many were fooled by the mantra of “Hope and Change” they never stopped to THINK and realize that hope is not a strategy and change is not a destination. Hope and change became hoax and chains, and the people are tired of it.

Obama, regardless of skin color, is like Carter in one other respect–he is living proof, like Carter, that the Democrats could have run ANYONE against Bush (McCain) or Ford (Nixon) and won. And like Carter, the electorate, saw through the bullshit and tossed this phony loser out on his ass the first chance they got.

One can at least hope when Obama leaves office next January, he’ll do something semi-productive like building houses or something, but I’m probably closer to correct when I say he’ll be more likely to build and play on a few golf courses.

I too have been reading this blog for about a month now. I must say that I find the humor rather refreshing. However, this post doesn’t express to me what this site is about. People will see this post and the Stolen Valor posts and call everyone here a ‘bunch of haters’. Racists that can’t stand the 1st ammendment (per SC decision). This blog does well to bring to light phony soldiers, it doesn’t need a racist tag on it.

Also, if you don’t like the President’s policies and you actually want to have him voted out in November–STAY AWAY FROM RACE. Focusing on Race will only incite more people to come out to vote for President Obama. Focusing on how there was no balanced budget, our economy is worse then when he took office, he hasn’t done the things he promised. (I don’t think he’s even started working on his promises….) (Oh wait, he did end the War in Iraq….)
Anyway, TAH is better then what could be labeled a racist laced post….
If the opposition wants to sink that low, let them stay there, we don’t have to go there with them.

Appreciate #5 and #7

Jon not to be confused with Jonn

Also apprecite #4…sorry.

NHSparky

Jon–again, it wasn’t those concerned with his POLICIES who brought up race. It was his own supporters who did and have.

Believe me, I’d love to have a totally color-blind debate, but the MSM/left/Obama administration and supporters won’t have any of it.

They sure as fuck can’t run on their accomplishments.

Joe

Some weird, semi-coherent s**t here.

Jonn Lilyea

Poetrooper is one of 19 people who write here, and I’m pretty sure that his opinion isn’t shared by all 19 of us and isn’t necessarily the voice of TAH. He submitted this piece to another blog and they probably won’t publish it, but his is a voice of a veteran, a veteran whose opinion I value. While I agree that there are other reasons to oppose Obama other than his melanin content, he was the one who encouraged us to vote for him because he doesn’t look like our other presidents.

But this blog was built on the diversity of opinions – evidenced by the willingness of several of you to disagree with much of what we write here. I’d no sooner censor Poetrooper than I would any of you. So disagree away.

#9 “Oh wait, he did end the War in Iraq….”

Nope, he fucked that one up too.

NHSparky

To be fair, Joe–if he’s so fucking brilliant, how come we have yet to see his grades?

Jon not to be confused with Jonn

#11 they sure were the ones who brought up the race issue, however, we don’t have to go there, just cause they do…..that’s all I’m saying.

I’m not saying that anyone is a racist, but reading that post, could you see some racial biased overtones?

SFC Holland

@6 – Okay, SS–why is it okay for him and his sycophants to bring race into it (You criticized Obama? RACIST!!!) but not for us?

Because we are Soldiers, men of integrity, and better than that. We hold ourselves to a higher standard, and values. We can debate on merits, and not get into the mud with people whom we disagree with, even vehemently.

Look at the hate filled ramblings of Insipid. He represents the Obama camp and liberals perfectly. I am not going to type a bunch of hate/racist garbage on here because he chooses to. People will see it for what it is. I get pissed at the double standard and hypocrisy of racists screaming racism too.

UpNorth

@#14, Sparky, notice that President Present is now saying that Romney has to release his records? All of his records? This from the guy who has yet to release any info?

SFC Holland

@16

Respect brother.

PintoNag

PT, bringing race into any argument will become a two-edged sword in a hurry. It’s best avoided.

Your point about “men who would be gods” however…that part I agree with completely.

Joe

I’m surprised he didn’t bring up alchemy, phlebotomy and the use of leeches in this diatribe based on 17th century thinking.

PintoNag

(Ummm…Joe…just FYI…leeches and phlebotomy are still used in medicine today…ahem…)

NHSparky

As is alchemy of a sort.

@17 SFC Holland–agreed that we are men of standards and honor and integrity. And last time I checked, I take those concepts very seriously, even though I hung up my uniform over a decade ago.

But since when is it racist or unfair or dishonorable to use the words or actions of your opponent against them? Something about hoisting on their own petards seems to be rattling around my brain case somewhere….

Frankly, the only people more thin-skinned than Obama are his followers, regardless of the color of his or their skin.

Joe

Well, yeah, but for different reasons. We don’t use it to release black humours anymore.

NHSparky

Joe, lemme guess–black holes are racist, too?

And let’s not even get into black ice, black arts, etc…

DR_BRETT

To any Nay-Sayers above — I say Nay-NO !!
This is a great post — thank you, Mr. POETROOPER !!

Should anyone get the wrong idea about me — WRONG !!
I was supporting, and still I support — HERMAN CAIN .

Veritas Omnia Vincit

@8 Sparky,

“Indeed they almost play directly into the Obama camp’s pointing out that a lot of opposition to him is because some white people are uncomfortable having a black president….”

I didn’t word my response nearly as well as I would have liked. I meant that the Obama folks are trying to use a broad brush and paint the bulk of the opposition with that brush as racists…I don’t agree that the majority of his opposition is based on race and I apologize for writing such a confusing opinion.

I was trying to make the point that I did not believe this type of rant advanced the argument as well as simply pointing out the obvious…we now have an unfunded liability of over a million dollars per taxpayer…we have triple the debt we had 4 years ago, job creation is a joke, and we have a health care plan that the ridiculously useless CBO thinks will pay for itself…this being the same CBO that can’t plot a budget out 10 months suddenly being able to see 10 years into the future with deadly accuracy….

These are the salient points that need to be driven home every day as often as possible, making a reference to tan man gods does less ( in my opinion only) to push that argument forward in a reasonable fashion to the independent voter…I don’t give a rat’s 4ss about the Obama faithful as neither you or I will change their minds, but independents who might consider an alternative could be swayed that associating with folks who reference a pale shadow of the desert-darkened leader of the chosen might not be their best move either…again that’s just my opinion if others are of the opinion that pushing this original post’s type of rhetoric moves the middle to the right have at it…I hope they’re right.

I will avoid that rhetoric in my posts, that is the only point I was making. Sorry for any confusion I created.

DR_BRETT

No. 8 NHSparky: — BRILLIANT .

Veritas Omnia Vincit

@27 Apparently my European descent got the better of me….

It’s often suggested the thinnest book ever written was the “Big Book of German Humor”

Clearly I didn’t get your point, I guess I have not paid much attention to the reports of Obama’s success being related to being a black man…

I’ve never been accused of being funny….I will suggest that because I am new here I didn’t realize what kind of a sense of humor you might have, and reading a lot of blogs from a lot of different writers at different sites doesn’t lead me to think most have a sense of humor that you suggest.

You have my apology for misconstruing your intent.

Jon not to be confused with Jonn

Poetrooper,
I guess that I missed the humor–for that I apologize.
Respectfully,
Jon

DR_BRETT

Did I miss it —
is this thread about the painter Paul Klee (pronounced “clay”) ??

SFC Holland

@28 Dr Brett, on that we can agree. I liked and still like Herman Cain, and I think he would be great for our country.

On the humour thing, we can agree to disagree, I am not trashing you or judging you, and am grateful for the opportunity to read and visit the site, it makes the time go by faster.

I would echo Jon’s comments on 32.

Old Trooper

I have been mulling a response to the commenters, in this thread, who look at this as racist. On another blog, the race card was being thrown about the discussion with regularity and I stopped it with a question. Now, to qualify my question I will first give a little background, since I have been called a racist by several leftists that thought they could stop a discussion and take the win by calling me a racist on this site. My younger brother is half black and as he puts it, he has more African black blood in him than Obama does. He also considers himself a proud redneck that listens to Charlie Daniels and Hank jr. I have never been one to go on a person’s looks or the color of their skin or even their gender. I listen to what they say and what they think and how they act. Didn’t a famous civil rights activist once tell us to judge a man not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character? It seems we have forgotten that in this country, because everything these days is about race, or gender, or who they’re sleeping with. When we started “celebrating diversity” we actually lost the ideal of just being an American. We became the hyphenated American. African-American, Hispanic-American, gay-American, etc. What’s wrong with just being an American? We have tried so hard to prove we are down with the diversity thing that we even elected the most inexperienced candidate ever to the highest office in the land and we did it based on the color of his skin, not the content of his character. He is the Affirmative Action President. Then, and I knew this was going to happen, anything that someone says that is negative against this President is racist. If you don’t give blind support to him, you are racist. Well, sweet Polly Whitebread doesn’t want to be called a racist, so they don’t tell it like it is for fear of being labelled that horrible “r word”. They brag that they… Read more »

SFC Holland

@35 Isn’t using the color of a person’s skin as the deciding factor in whether you vote for them as President rather racist?

Well of course it is. There’s that double standard again. They can be racist and not be called on it, but you, no matter your opinion or criteria, who disagree with them, will always be marginalized, vilified, decried as racist, stupid, out of touch, old fashioned, whatever. It’s reverse discrimination, and it is a uniquely American trait.

I would love to link the quote during 2008 where one of the Dems said something to the effect that they had to be very careful that they didn’t lose their “victim” card if they had a black president. It’s a carefully managed image they have created. But if you expose it or comment on it, they are quick to marginalize it as racism or hate speech. An inconvenient truth indeed.

Conservatives have their black heroes too, but they are not acknowledged by the left, or when they are they are called uncle toms or roofus. This is their effort to guide the discussion and the message.

Not a big fan of the race debate, but we as Americans are going to have to keep at it until there is a concensus that we are all equals, and Americans first.

Doc 74

Sorry late to the party…my 2 cents worth… (plus inflation)
The current liberal progressive regime play by the Saul Alynski handbook, which to put it mildly emphasizes negativity and the breaking down of the morals, norms and hijacking of all that made this country.
As a veteran one of the various strategies I have studied is ‘Fight Fire With Fire’, as a consequence the gloves must come off. The days of being nice don’t work anymore and with so much at stake we have to be prepared to get down in the dirt and get dirty, we have to use the same weapons as they do only we have to use them smarter, faster and more effectively. If we as a nation are to survive and handover to our kids some semblance of what America once was then we have to use Special Operation type mentality… No mercy on these progressive insurgents, call them out on every their Racism….Now is not the time to be weak, we got to stop acting like sheeple… As for those who are offended by what they consider the not so subtle inferences to the use of the ‘Black’ card, get over yourselves, heavens sake, 1st Ammendment… God Bless It, don’t gotta like it, but its there for a reason, yah don’t like it because you have become so indoctrinated by the pc brigade you don’t realize it.
Finally in the scheme of things I look at life like this, people say stupid shit, stupid being relative to what you believe is stupid…get it… People have said racist shit to me about my wife who is a chink, yep chinese ethnicity, I laugh, after two tours of Iraq I have come to the conclusion that if they ain’t shooting at me, ain’t trying to ram my vehicle with a VBIED, drop mortars on me, IED my ass on Route Irish, then my friend its a damn’d good, Sticks and Stones and all that good shit..
