Oliver North and Wayne LaPierre at CPAC
I met Oliver North briefly one evening a few weeks after 9-11-01 and I’ve always been a fan. The good folks at the NRA sent us his address to CPAC during which he does what he does best and most often – honoring the troops;
Being the NRA, they also sent the video of the NRA’s CEO and Executive Vice President, Wayne LaPierre, TSO’s former boss, who says that when Barack Obama is defeated in November, he’ll have gun owners to thank for it;
He goes on to say that the Obama Administration made a conscious decision to avoid the gun issue during his first term, looking forward to his second term to address the divisive issue. I honestly don’t doubt that because the Giffords shooting was the perfect opportunity for them to begin restricting our rights to gun ownership, but they passed on it for the time being. Voting for Obama in 2012 is voting for gun control.
LaPierre also lays out the case against the Obama Administration in regards to the Fast and Furious operation for people who haven’t been seriously following it thus far.

The administration didn’t pass on restricting citizens’ right to own and operate guns. They are working through surrogates like Bloomberg, and laying the legal groundwork through the extra-Constitutional appointment of czars in defiance of Congress; the NCLB waivers that aren’t permitted by law.
Some things take time.
North has not always been the Boy Scout that he now projects.
I’m in the Singlaub faction that has nothing but scorn for him after he hung General Singlaub out to dry during Iran-Contra.
Suggest that you read “Hazardous Duty” John Singlaub’s autobiography to catch up on North’s character flaws.
Look at Romney’s record on gun control. Look at what Gun Owners of America have to say about him. Obama is not the one you have to worry about. As for suragates, look at Scott Brown in MA and the National Right to Carry.

Mud, I met him in Fallujah in 05. He overheard us talking about a prostitution problem we were having at the time and chimed in about having similar problems in Nam.
North was a criminal and sought personal gain over his duty. He cloaked his wrongdoings with his twisted interpretation of the Constitution. That you should revere him says a lot about you as well. Open your eyes.
