Occupy SMA Chandler’s FB

| November 25, 2011

Pat sends us this screenshot of a former soldier, Kevin Baker, who decided to “Occupy” Sergeant Major of the Army Raymond Chandler’s Facebook page with some class warfare BS;

The existing officer corps should be dismantled and replaced by enlisted service members who are democratically elected by their units and who are subject to recall at anytime. Officers should no longer enjoy special privileges, including hand salutes. We also demand the right for lower enlisted ranks to unionize and form committees to address grievances with the chain of command, the unit and the
military.

If you’re going to elect the officer corps among the masses, why stop saluting them?

Now, if you look at Kevin Baker’s Facebook page, you’ll notice that he’s a student at Los Angeles City College…that’s probably the root of his problem. A half-assed education among the intelligentsia who couldn’t get a real teaching job. Baker forgot to mention that we be reimbursed our premiums for SGLI and demand a Cold War medal.

Actually, this Facebook rant is a monument as to why we don’t put privates in charge of having ideas.

If TAH ever holds a contest for Teh Silliest statement ever made concerning the military this aught to be nominated.

Daniel

Gee, he forgot to include voting on what missions to accept and where to deploy to. Common everything needs to be democratic, I’m sure the military would function just fine.

The Dead Man

We’re sure this isn’t Soupy on a shoeshine bender right?

Old Trooper

This idiot probably was tossed for being a douche and now he’s butt hurt about the whole deal and wants to whined to anyone he can.

QMC

Yeah, all that might resonate if we had an army of peasants born in the last decade of the 19th century.

Spigot

Total moron, pussy and douche nozzle.

I hope the SMA finds him and rips his face off…literally.

S.G.

Awww, he’s FB friends with IVAW’s Jose Vasquez theres a surprise

Joseph Brown

I dreamed this up back in the ’50s when Whiteman AFB decided to build a golf course for NCOs(E6 and E7-no E8s and E9s back then)and officers.
my theory was and is= The first 3 graders do the work, NCOs supervise the work and officers take the credit. You probably haven’t figured out who built that course, have you.
I have absolutely no problem with the military way of doing things and hopefully never will. It’s supposed to give a person incentive to advance in rank.

S.G.

Ow wow! old home week at CPUSA, the fuckstick is FB buddies with TJ Buonomo, Michael Pysner, Zach Choate, Ward Reilly, Under the Hood cafe, IVAW Seattle, IVAW, various socialist radicla groups, no Matthis though> surprised.

faboutlaws

Comrade Baker must have chaffed a bit under military discipline.

Pat

Especially ludicrous that occu-dummy posted this under the SMA’s Thanksgiving message.

The Sniper

If I may be so bold as to sum this line of thinking with a short Monty Python clip.

Sums these idiots up in three minutes.

ARoberts

Yeah I saw this yesterday on our all NCO Facebook page. There are some seriously pissed off people over there who really just want to go pound this guys face in.

Just Plain Jason

I got nothing for this level of stupidity…

UpNorth

Ho-hum, another IVAW skidmark on humanity’s underwear, nothing to see here, move along.

GaigeM

I added Mr. Barker to my Facebook profile and am currently engaged in a fairly civil discussion with him.

He’s crazy as a loon, but it’s civil.

You know officers get a bad rap. For every West pointer in the Army there is a green to golder who was a former enlisted. I wonder if he considers Warrant in this? They have to be saluted like officers, and the majority of them are former enlisted who went warrant.

Doc Bailey

so just out of currosity when it comes time to say “charge that machine-gun nest” and the “officer” gives the order to move, does that mean you vote on if you should risk death to gain that ground? How about if you’re supposed to hold so others can retreat do you just say “no this seems like WE would get hurt more. Let’s pull back now”, and doom large numbers of troops (but at least you’d be self actualized while you did it). Give me a fuckin break.

This dude is nuttier than squirrel poo.

Daniel

@17 Why all the West Point hate?

Based on accemptance requirements 15% of the class has to be prior service. That is why they instituted the Prep schools.

Come on, give us a little bit of a break, not all WPs are douchebags (well maybe a little, if I’m wearing my ring of power).

Militant Bibliophile

Yeah, this is Red Army circa 1918 crap. Got news for you, boss, it didn’t work then either! Leon Trotsky had to go back in and completely redo the army along traditional (read: hierarchical and non democratic) lines before they became capable of fighting their way out of a wet paper bag. Eh, one more nutty utopian with little to no connection to reality. LACC, why am I not surprised?

streetsweeper

I’ll call it a “wet dream” and move on….smartly.

B Woodman

Traitorous Communist talk there, son. . . . .

B Woodman

And I’d LOVE to totally fisk that entire statement, line by line, but it’d take too much time & space. Suffice to say there’s not an intelligent thought in it.

melle1228

>Why all the West Point hate?

Just figured you guys and the Norwich(or nawich as on of the guys my husband use to work with called it) guys would be considered the “elite” stereotypical officers…at least to those who think officers are elitist like the above poster.

>Come on, give us a little bit of a break, not all WPs are douchebags

Nope I agree… The best commander my husband ever had was a WPer and the worst one he ever had was a WPer.

Doc Bailey

melle Ring knockers are fucking annoying. Which is not to say that i didn’t want to try very hard at one point in my life to be one of them. The better version.

Outlaw13

West Pointers are almost as annoying as Aggies.

Sig

One of my favorite officers was from West Point, but I didn’t know it until I became the admin guy and had access to his records.
