Ah, the follies of Youth.

| September 30, 2011

I got this reply to a comment I made about this photo of some shirtless wonder being arrested at the Wall Street Protest. Mind you before you start that this person is still in High School. (I spaced it out for a easier read)

warren, no offence, but that’s a rather ignorant view… Professional protesters? Really? I’d sooner believe over half of them were there to pick up chicks. This is why I don’t support non-violent protests.

March as an army or not at all. I want no more martyrs and real changes. And if tearing everything down is the only way to make some changes, then so be it. And I guarentee some of these “hippies” (that just got assaulted for doing something that is specifically protected in the bill of rights) are starting to think more militantly as well. Hopefully they do something with those ideas within my lifetime (talking the next 20-30 years).

I have been jumped by cops, I have had cops give false testimony in court after being beat by my gfs mom and stepdad, I have been profiled and prejudicely accosted by police for looking like I fit their statistics. Don’t even try to say that the police didn’t instigate it and assault foolish kids and true patriots. Pigs were probably just bored of sitting around and figured they’d get the show over with… And of course a big problem is that the protesters did leave. They should have brought tents. And as far as I’m concerned, they should have brought an armoury and taken the building. THIS is exactly what “the right to bear arms” is all about. A gun was practically a necessary tool for survival when the bill of rights was wrote, it has nothing to do with owning a gun, really. And for the record, I don’t think guns would be the best means of fire power anyways… I don’t feel much sympathy for these people.

This is how American “non-violent” protest ends. the other side (police) instigates the violence and drag them away bloody and burned (if not gassed and shot with rubber bullets). History has a tendency to repeat its self. They knew it was coming, even if they WANTED to believe that THIS protest would be different. The time has passed for such nieve optomism. And you know, it’s funny how none of the cops ever make it to protect planned parenthood from protesters (or for similar protests) Simple fact is, the police are not here to protect and serve the people. They are against the people, even in every day interaction. And the judicial system is a running joke. And we’re basically back to the “nobility” stage. It’s time to remove this taint on our country! I say people need to start being MORE radical!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you prefer the “hippies” now?

She reminds me ofBobby Whittenberg but double the douch.

it’s clear that shit bird here has never had to work a day in his life. I would advise this POS to go read George Orwell’s Animal Farm. especially about how “some animals are more equal than others”.

Go ahead. Have your revolution. See how quickly it sinks to despotism. Ask how Leon Trotsky liked it after his revolution.

I am not still in high school, Warren, if you had bothered to take the time to do some research you would have realized this, however, judging from what I’ve seen on this site, research is not something you’re terribly interested in. I have seen nothing on here but a bunch of slanderous propoganda. No facts, No sources, no relevant refferences (calling me a douch was so totally mature -rolls eyes- and lends credence to what I have just said.) Yes, I am radical. It’s unfortunate that my health has prevented me from starting my own movement, as I had intended to after enlisting in the marines according to my high school plan. But I am not the only one who feels this way. I am not the only one who is outraged and angry and disgusted and disappointed by our society/country. A failing system tends to make people angry. You can call me unpatriotic or whatever, But I come from a very old military family on both sides and am technically a “daughter of the revolution”. I believe in what this country stands for and the potential it could have. And all the bs red tape is just that, red tape. Obviously we cannot make the system work from inside it, so we are going to have to start going around it.

And thank you, I have been working since I was a little child. I have lived more in my time than many ever do in their entire life and I am not some nieve child. That term has never really been applicable. I have not lived the sheltered life and I have seen a VERY ugly side of this country and the more I learn, the more disappointed I am. I don’t deny there would be chaos before during and after an uprising, but out of chaos comes order. And the direction this country is headed already is quite chaotic as well. It’s a matter of the lesser of two evils.

Doc Bailey

Yup. You’re a douche. You fly off the cuff about how its all SOOOO bad and evil and nasty. HA you know nothing. No one is invading your home to use a power drill on your joints. No one is setting your house on fire (with you in it).

Cuba is such a nice place right? why are people risking death to make the 90 mile trip in things that can barely be called boats? Why were there so many Vietnamese desperate to get out of Siagon in ’75. You’d think that the NVA was the sunny and Cher band from the popular media. Do you really have any idea what you’re asking for? Do you have any idea how unbelievably LUCKY you are you aren’t in Africa, or the Balkans, or hell the Kashmir. You have PEACE, and you are an utter fucking moron to take all that you have as an American Citizen and want to throw that away for some piss ant wanna be “revolution”.

STUDY HISTORY! The French and Bolshevik revolutions were horribly bad things. Seriously dude, you fly off at the handle, about how we don’t do research here? Most of the regulars here know whereof they speak.

Rozlin

You need to get past the american delusion. We are no longer a global superpower. I never said that this is the worst country there is, nor is it the best or even one of the best. There is alot wrong here and frankly, from seeing it all as intimately as I have, I am ashamed to call myself American. I am ashamed to call myself human even. war is ugly. but sometimes it’s a neccessary evil. Maybe this country can turn itself around in time. Honestly, I’ve rarely known peace to lead change. Why fix it if it isn’t broken? but it is broken, and the people are getting restless. I think you’re a moron for not wanting to protect your children, or your grandchildren. I think you’re a moron for blindly supporting the government (or BLINDLY supporting any authority, for that matter). I think you’re a moron for not seeing all those that are suffering and being tortured and oppressed. Here. Now. Not 40 years ago. Not 20 years ago. Right now. And I think you are a moron for being such a hateful and argumentative person for intentionally picking and choosing the most extreme opposites to illustrate your point, while side stepping topics. Now that’s a GOP classic… But generally I try to stay above petty name calling and other diversionary tactics… Look at it this way: Warren here is a veteran of the iraqi war, hence he has certain insights and dispositions. I am a veteran (or perhaps a victim) of the civilian war that wages here, giving me certain insights and dispositions. You may consider my terminology strong. I consider it accurate. Unfortunately the victims and casualties are still one sided because OUR side has yet to fight. I’m not one to sit and play the victim, I’d rather play the avenger, and believe me, I have quite a vendetta, mostly on behalf of the innocent children I have seen irrepairably damaged by this broken system. You may have caught a blip on FOX now and then. I lived it. And I am not willing… Read more »

Breaking Good news at 2 am west coast time: Anwar Al-Awlaki the American born Yemeni terrorist, killed by somebody, presumably Yemeni forces.

The Dead Man

I’ve read this sound and fury, but all it’s done is make me shake my head. I see the post saying she’s seen and done more than most, but I see no evidence in the writing. I’m particularly curious about the supposed ugly side to this country from Rozlin’s point of view. I get the feeling it would be a fascinating look into the vacuous parts of my political science professor’s teachings, or at least something similar.

OWB

Well, at least Roz makes an effort to engage in something approximating intelligent debate! We don’t quite get there, but I do appreciate the effort it takes to leave the name calling etc out of the conversation.

You are expressing many of the same frustrations most of us have. You simply blame the wrong boogie man!

We here served, for the most part honorably, to preserve your right to act stupid in public. The Constitution never required that we all agree on anything; it does require that we each get to express our opinions however misguided they may be.

There is no Constitutional guarantee of an audience for those expressions of opinion. The Constitution also does not guarantee that everyone will like the outcome of allowing folks to act stupid in public.

So, Roz, if you will just consider for a moment that we here are not your enemy perhaps we can find some common ground. Is it worth a try?

Talking down to us as if we are toddlers isn’t going to win you any friends even if you don’t call us baby killers.

Youth has it’s privileges…Yipping about what they think they know. Ugh. Pray that she gets wiser when having to be personally responsible.

Frankly Opinionated

Rozlin:
To say that America is either bad or good, a person would be more credible if they offered a comparison, such as: “America is a much better country than Haiti.”. So how about when you come back here, you tell us which country is better than America, so we can make a comparison, and perhaps choose to leave America for this Utopian dream. Just slamming cops, the court system, Americans, is like saying that the score to the Dallas/Green Bay Football game is 14.
I doubt that anyone here would argue your side if you give credible facts. We may debate it, and I pray that we would, but so far you have offered no alternative.
And as OWB offered: Thank you for keeping it civil.

Old Trooper

Roz in #5: “I think you’re a moron for not wanting to protect your children, or your grandchildren. I think you’re a moron for blindly supporting the government (or BLINDLY supporting any authority, for that matter). I think you’re a moron for not seeing all those that are suffering and being tortured and oppressed. Here. Now.”

Ok, let’s go point by point here:

1) What kind of protection do you think I need for my children and grandchildren (I have both)?

2) Supporting any authority? So; are you an anarchist? If things change the way you flap your gums about wanting; who would be in charge of bringing that change and would you support that authority?

3) Who is being tortured and oppressed here and how is that being done? Have you seen real torture and oppression in your life (no, not that you read in a book or watched a movie about)?

Get back to me about all that.

Jason

Wait so his GFs mom step dad and the cops all went against him in court and he thinks that the world is the problem?

You might want to look in the mirror dude.

I guess if the world is all messed up and unjust it justifies any and all of your actions… isn’t that convenient?

NHSparky

There is alot wrong here and frankly, from seeing it all as intimately as I have, I am ashamed to call myself American.

Might I offer you a one-way ticket to Pyongyang, the slums of Calcutta, perhaps Mogadishu, or a really nice cardboard hut in Caracas?

Trust me, scooter–you haven’t seen shit.

UPNorth

Roz would answer, but she got detention for sleeping through American Government. And English too.
Very similar to a douche from Muskegon on the news last night. She managed to get herself arrested in NY, also. Then made an ass of herself on TV by screaming that she’d been arrested but it was “wrong” because she hadn’t been advised of her rights. Much like any other hippie “lawyer”, she knows nothing about the law. Her main point for being in NY? She wants jobs to be a birthright, and she wants money. She doesn’t want to work for either, she just wants them.
And roz, thanks for staying above it all by not engaging in name-calling, by using moron as a means of address./s
And, if you’re “ashamed to call myself human even”, there’s an easy solution to your problem, if you’ve got the nerve.

DaveO

Heh.

Ever so worldly and so wise, so long as there’s a wiki and a chat with the guys.

Before you go carrying out your vendetta ‘on behalf of the children’ (now where oh where have I heard that line before?) just think about this one small point:

Once you take up arms against our system, you can never return. Anwar al-Meatsackextracrispy is currently unavailable for comment.

Doc Bailey

Sorry I stand by my previous statement.

Roz you have NO idea what you are saying. I have seen both the good and bad in America. And you know what? the bad isn’t NEARLY as bad as most of the rest of the world. the EU has a built in racism which is leading to a lot of strife with the Muslims. Hell PARIS of all places, the “city of love” gets a yearly riot that nearly destroys it.

Socialism seems so nice doesn’t it? no risk, no danger, no reward, no reason to do a good job, no reason to care. In many ways Socialism is worse than outright despotism. All you end up is a gray haze where people don’t really give a shit about anything.

Moreover yes, capitolism CAN be horrific, but Despotism can be enlightened. It is not inherently good or bad, its how you do it. If you get paid more for doing a good job, then you’d be pretty freaking motivated to do a damn good job. Likewise if you are a shitty worker always come to work late and hung over you get. . . fired.

I again fail to see this ugly side of America. Even our supposed Racism is NOTHING compared to what you find elsewhere. Ask an Arab what they think about a Persian. Ask a Turk what they think about a Kurd, and ask an Assyrian how it feels to be under the boot of Arabs/Persians. you think Lynchings (which ended in the 19th century) are bad? good lord Ask the Jews what its like to be the scapegoat for every Empire that ever existed. sorry but you WOULD piss all that away, and you wough get naught but blood and sand
