Another IVAW loser

| August 1, 2011

We used to go hunting indivual IVAW members and kind of got off that after awhile when they changed their website, but StrikeFO went diving into the IVAW profiles and sent us this clown, Josh Carmona, who was apparently a Marine Corp journalist – another Iraq veteran Against the War who hasn’t been to Iraq or Afghanistan, but still opposes the war and gets to wear a T-shirt that makes people think he’s done something besides sit in Barstow, CA and complain about his recruiter;

Apparently, he was fat and happy in high school until a recruiter came along and screwed up his life by getting him some employment. Now that his time is up, because that recruiter screwed him up so bad, he’s getting his meals from a dumpster; “I fill a lot of my time drinking and digging through dumpsters for “midnight pizza”. I joined IVAW because I have tons of skill and charisma. I want to end bullshit wars and I can’t sit right with myself doing nothing but watching Return of the Jedi over and over and over again.”

I wonder what “lies” his recruiter told him…he isn’t clear about that, is he? I wonder how much of that time he spends watching movies he could have spent looking for gainful employment. What is it with military journalists? Matthis was one and there was a Navy journalist, Zack Baddorf, who testified at Winter Soldier Europe that he spent six months floating off of Iraq when his ship’s whole tour was six months from the time they left San Diego until they returned.

Every military member’s service is valuable, but when they use their service to garner sympathy, when their failures are their own fault, they need to be called out.

I get the impression that he can’t hold a job and establish a sense of normalcy in his life because he’s a Star Wars nerd (two Star Wars references in his bio) who watched the battle of Endor so many times that he got PTSD from seeing that one Ewok grieving over his friend who was killed by the Imperial Scout Walker. His problems certainly aren’t from his non-deployment to Iraq.

He may also not be getting a job if he keeps referring to himself as the “resident badass.” But I do wonder what is keeping this young Jedi from using the GI Bill he earned and going to school, which may help in getting him a… dare I say it… job. Damn the man!

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=543420230 this guy was in the service and then chose the uberliberal University of North Texas for college. I also attended this college but I was more the beer drinking redneck type. He fits in well there with all the panhandlers and homeless hippies on Fry Street.

Uh…..whats this douche got against return of the jedi? doesn’t he have enough problems without pissing off obi wan?

StrikeFO

I see Calm Magazine now has 3 “likes”… it only had 1 this morning… meaning two of you folks out there are padding his membership. Don’t give the kid a confidence boost. His “zine” still sucks.

StrikeFO

that damn recruiter ruined my life! That SOB put me in Barstow, CA for 4 years and now I get to go to college for free! What an a-hole!

NotSoOldMarine

That profile is practically satire.

Maybe he’s watching the remastered version instead of the original.

NSOM #9: Yeah it is! I too have “tons of skill and charisma”. I’m also easy on the eyes and smarter than everyone here. The Navy treated me poorly by allowing me to enlist without telling me there might be shooting involved.

I could go on, but you folks are on it.

However, Jonn, I deserve a pay raise AND my name above the title!

Zero: only if you post a pic of yourself exceeding the luminosity and grandeur of “Master Sergeant Soup Sandwich” and generate some serious webtraffic to TAH’s sponsors/partners.

Maybe, if he didn’t spend his time sucking on a bottle, he’d have money for food, or be able to find a job? Why would anyone who was trying to stay in business want to hire a dumpster diver and drunk?

Every time some dipshit claims that his recruiter “lied to him”, it requires an inquiry. That means a COMPANY COMMANDER is assigned as an investigative officer (IO) for it. That’s a commander who is “pulled out of the fight” in recruiting because someone didn’t read their contract, heard what they wanted to hear, or believed the lies of someone else. The reason that allegations of Recruiting Improprieties are serious is because it is a serious subject. In my 22 months in command, I was the IO for 18 RI investigations…in which 1 was substantiated. I had to call one recruiter in Afghanistan for one that was 3+ years old involving a Soldier wondering where his money for college was who enlisted AS A CAT IV.
