Linda Hamilton accepts invite in Betty White’s place

| July 20, 2011

We reported the other day that Sgt. Ray Lewis asked Betty White to the Marine Corps Ball. Unfortunately, Ms. White declined because of a scheduling conflict – we in the military understand scheduling conflicts. But, anyway, Linda Hamilton, apparently done battling Terminator cyborgs for the time being has picked up the invitation for Ms. White;

“I know that I am no Betty White, but I would be really, really thrilled if you can’t find anyone else to go to the ball with you, I could go,” Hamilton pleads in the desperate invite.

“I’m only half as mature as she is, wink wink, but I am twice as funny, so I think that works out!”

Hamilton, 54, blows a kiss to the camera before begging Lewis to get in touch with her.

This whole ordeal with people asking celebs to dances/balls is getting a bit old.Makes it look like we are asking for handouts. But hey, in all fairness, if Linda Hamilton BEGGED me to take her.Of course I would.

…k’ enough with this gag, it ceased to be funny more then a week ago.

P.S. Linda, when you ask to be asked to the ball, it reeks of career desperation. You know only the kind that an aging movie actress, needing of attention, who’s best years are most likely behind, her can convey.

“There she is officer the one with the blue hair. Last time she saw forty, was eighteen forty, take her away!”- Al Bundy.

Cedo–it has to be funny to start with in order to cease being funny.

Now THIS, this is funny. I wish they had played a Submarine Ball back in the day:

Adirondack Patriot

Good luck with that SGT Lewis. Linda Hamilton is bipolar and bisexual.

Claymore

…next up, military planking and owling pics.

I have to agree with Christian and Cedo. Enough is enough already, maybe it was ‘cute’ first time around.

Laughing Wolf

She has had her issues, but having met her (she was next-door-neighbors with a movie cameraman I knew), he could do a LOT worse. Good sense of humor, not bad looking, like I said, could do a lot worse.

Arrow

Oh good grief! Now that is just weird. Get some pride about yourself woman.

It was ballsy when the Marine did it. Everyone else. . . not so much. Still I’d take Linda.

I do think its generally positive that Hollywood is getting involved with ACTUAL military folks. Too often all Soldiers and Marines are seen as caricatures of who they are in reality. That we are human, and that we are very real, not simply faceless minions.

Saw on the morning news today that a Marine posted a video asking Miley Cyrus.

The video asking Kunis was innovative.

The video asking Timberlake was cute, since he was already involved in the Kunis invite.

The video asking Betty White was Fonzie strapping on the water skis.

We are now officially into “Ted McGinley joins the cast” territory.

USMC Steve

It was nice of Linda Hamilton to do that though.
