WaPo; Obama says shutdown would be ‘inexcusable’

| April 7, 2011

This is what the Washington Post runs as a headline;

As if he has nothing to do with impending shutdown;

“It would be inexcusable, given the relatively narrow differences when it comes to numbers between the two parties, that we can’t get this done,” Obama said. “There’s no reason why we should have a government shutdown unless we’ve made a decision that politics is more important.”

Well, of course Democrats have decided that politics is most important – they’re trying to hold on to their base. We can all agree that government spending is out of control, so the largest, most prolonged cuts make the most sense. So why are the Democrats, including the President, married to the smallest, least ineffectual cuts?

The House has passed a budget, the Senate and the President are standing in the way of the first budget in three years. So who is really being “inexcusable” here?

its not just numbers. if it were a numbers game the GOP wouldn’t stick to its guns like it is. Its about the size and scope of government and that half the programs that he refuses to cut are bunked anyways. You can say “Bush left a mess” all you want, but at the end of the day you can not deny that OBAMA has spent more in two years than almost EVERY president has before him. From George Washington to W he has borrowed more money then all of them, COMBINED. If he allows the GOP to get their way, or even close to their way, then EVERYTHING he has ever don in the oval office goes up in smoke and he knows it. So for personal reasons I think, he’ll fight tooth an nail to the bitter end.

One more example of the fact that if Obama’s lips are moving he is lying to us. There are significant differences in the cuts the republicans want and the cuts that the dems will go along with. And it has been established that most of the “cuts” the dems proposed are accounting parlor tricks that don’t actually save anything at all. They are just slick accounting tricks.

And this budget thing sets squarely on the spindly narrow shoulders of Obama and his dems. The last budget we had was the last one passed in Bush’s tenure back in 2007. I clearly remember Pelosi and Reid standing at a conference and clearly saying they were not going to work on a budget once.

The only person who can shut down government operations is OBAMA. And he is the one playing politics by refusing to sign off on a one week extension. He wants to force the shutdown, thinking it will benefit the dems. Another example of why he is one dumb son of a bitch who is out of touch with reality.
