Sticks and Stones

| April 1, 2011

Considering what is happening in Afghanistan I thought this is cartoon would put things into perspective. Also given that there are some interesting things coming out from the Rethink Afghanistan community.

Ok were to start.

Well, okay, but…these were UN workers at a time when 100K+ troops were in the country. Doesn’t seem like the presence helped them much.

Or this one.

That Florida pastor should be banished to Afghanstan for starting such a malificent ruckus, that people are killed as a result. If you read Islam’s history? You will realized it greatest spread came in the first 100years, by military conquest. Why poke a stick at a sleeping tigre?

But it is really just propaganda and never happened.

Those dudes SO look like they are posing in that picture. Look at that dude to the far left and the one behind him. Angry mob my ass. lol Looks like a well done fashion shoot for urban couture to me. Me thinks this is just some more propaga…nda to depict just how “wild and crazy” those Afghanis supposedly are, thus vindicating the presence of the “moral, virtuous, and humane” foreign occupation forces to preserve all that is just and good. Let’s forget about the indiscriminate killings that have been going down on their side. I’m just saying.

Not to forget the standard it is all our fault statements.

Carly the 1.5 million drone planes that US citizens have to pay with their tax dollars are bombing a villages and killing civilians. Death toll has risen to 31% this year. over 2 thousand just last year have died. Why isnt this hitting american media? How many babies are being born with deformities from chemical bombs being dropped. Maybe there protesting for other reasons as well. LOOK AT THE US and what there already doing. US government are the HITLER of today

But the rioters are not to blame.

Yep you heard that right, we are using chemical weapons in Afghanistan.

Did you forget the US killed millions of Iraqis in a war based on false evidence. Did you forget they submited torture. Did you forget that they started a civil war within the country thats killing over 32 thousand people. Stop blaming The opressed look at the dictators, how do you explain what they did?

Oh and if anyone can translate this one please let me know.

u have to understand even if u think all rlgs are fairy tales that Muslims honor the Quran more than any other Ppl value their holy scriptures, so I u dis it u dis the Ppl n that’s y they wana take some action n not just do lip s…ervice … A good analogy for the westerners is if someone cussed out the mist beloved thing to u n wanted to burn it ( cud be ur mom ., ur daughter ., etc)how wud u respond????

Short version: it’s okay to kill people if they talk smack about your mother.

Kriste

@malclave Bingo!

The quality of the grammar, spelling and logic leads me to the conclusion that Bisping wrote that comment.

Miss Ladybug

That Florida “preacher” is an ass and so are the members if his church. They bear some responsibility in those deaths. What did they THINK would happen when word got out that they claim to have burned a Koran?

DaveO

No, Miss Ladybug. Respectfully, no.

That preacher did not stick a gun to an Afghani’s head and tell him to behead the UN worker. The Afghanis are possessed of free choice. They chose to do evil in the sight of man, for the joy of it.

The Afghanis wanted to murder the UN workers, and the report of the burned Koran was an excuse. They would have attacked them regardless because the UN workers had money, resources, transportation – many things of value that you or I would raise an eyebrow at.

We been there. We know this. 100% of the people in the picture have never OPENED a Koran before in their lives. And never, ever will. Their imams are very quick on that discipline.

If the ordinary muslim began reading the Koran and the Hadith the way ordinary christians read the Bible and associated commentary, the religious leaders would lose their power at that very moment.

It’s why Muslims never had a Johannes Gutenburg. They couldn’t take the competition of a god.

Today, I made a legal left turn. We can expect to hear of riots in Nepal at any moment now.

Had the preacher burned a Bible, or our flag, a Torah, folks here might grumble, but it’s perfectly legal and not uncommon. He burned a Koran. Hardly rates beyond casually naughty on the evil scale.

Never, ever excuse evil.

Hukd on foniks workd for me.Dumb asses. Right on Dave O.

Miss Ladybug; do you remember the riots, killings, etc., after the false story of a Koran being flushed at Gitmo came out? These are what I called then “the perpetually offended”. Anyone that starts killing and rioting because someone burned your religious book was actually just looking for an excuse to do so in the first place. Funny thing is; you don’t see christians and jews rioting and killing people when someone does something to “offend” their religion. In fact, offending christians is considered being “edgy” in the leftist and arts communities.

There are many examples of tv stations, newspapers, and other media that refuse to offend muslims; why? Because they are afraid of them. The only thing they have to fear from christians and jews is if they are offended, they will send a strongly worded message.

Does that make the preacher’s actions ok? Not to me, but not because of the violence, but rather because it makes him look rather immature; same as those that put a crucifix in a jar of urine and call it “art”.

1AirCav69

I have a minister that lives across the street from me. He told me that some artist had put a crucifix in a glass of piss and called it art.

I will be off the net for a few days and travelling to the UN building in New York where I’m going to shoot some guards and behead a few people. It will be a good trip though, saving me a stamp I would normally use to make my yearly donation to UNICEF. I can just drop off the check after my peaceful protest.

See you all soon!

God is great!

NHSparky

Amen, Cav. I mean, all that destruction and rioting after the Billy Graham crusades, who can forget that?

And while I find it in poor taste to go out of my way to offend someone, it’s in equally poor taste (and shows a lack of balls) to kow-tow to everyone who lives in a perpetual state of being offended.

We have these people among us–both the hand-wringers and the perpetually offended. We call them liberals.

Bill R.

Whether Terry Jones actions were right or not is surely debatable. What those people who represent the so-called “religion of peace” did was reprehensible. Mr. Jones actions did not cause the murders of those people. Their ignorance and the imams at their Friday afternoon prayers caused their deaths. If they wanted a tit-for-tat, they could have just burned a bible. Why are we fighting for these ignorant turds again?

malclave

I agree that Jones is an ass, but there’s no law against that.

But if he bears responsibility for the killings, then so do every member of the media which reported this story, since they should have known that their actions could lead to violence… right?
