This Can’t be Good News
Did Russia just blow up?
BREAKING NEWS: Georgia cabinet minster says Georgian troops are in control of capital of South Ossetia, four Russian warplanes shot down; Russian military officials claiming 10 “peacekeepers” killed, 30 wounded in fighting.
This is not good for a couple of reasons.
First, the Georgian military claims to have occupied the area. Furthermore they claim to have shot down a couple of Russian combat aircraft. Civilians have been killed and both sides are blaming the other.
Georgia wants to join NATO and expects some help from the west. Putin can not and will not let this stand.
Stay tuned.

I’m sure the MSM will find a way to blame it on Bush or Global Warming. (probably both)
Ray, Ray:
Now why would the Mudstream Media attempt to blame this on the President? You know that they always support him both as Prez and as the C-in-C. They wouldn’t show him in a bad light, would they? They are non-partisan, and would never attempt to influence anyone in either direction, would they?
Ray, you should have more faith in the Mudstream media, and appreciate their patriotism. They are America’s voice, (at least they claim that), and they always speak for the majority of Americans. Let up on them, please.

Welcome to the new Soviet expansionism.
Russia is pissed:
“……Georgia, which borders the Black Sea between Turkey and Russia, was ruled by Moscow for most of the two centuries preceding the breakup of the Soviet Union. The country has angered Russia by seeking NATO membership — a bid Moscow regards as part of a Western effort to weaken its influence in the region.”

Notice how Putin still has his bloody hands all over this, even though he’s supposed to be relinquishing power to his (hand picked) successor, Victor Zubkov?
