DailyKos and the Magic 8-Ball
I saw this bit of prophesy over at the Kos Kids today. It struck me as more insightful than the usual cannabis-induced, immature rant that one usually finds over there.
A choice between a milquetoast successor to a disgraced imperial president and a man running on hope and a smile, an economy reeling from the shock of rising oil prices, stark choices on a growing budget deficit, a military in transition after years of adventurism abroad, and a new Democratic majority in Congress still dealing with the abuses of the previous administration. Devilstower says we’ve seen 2008 before — in 1976.
The early comparisons between McCain and Ford are silly but not as silly as those between Bush and Nixon. But that’s not what struck me.
This ass-clown is comparing Barack Obama to Jimmy Carter as if it’s a good thing.
I don’t disagree that Obama would be a very similar president but can any serious student of history possibly think that is a good thing?
Isn’t this like Republicans hoping that John McCain will be the next Herbert Hoover?

The post about McCain’s ad comparing Obama to the Anti-Christ was very entertaining. And by entertaining I mean stupid and depressing that Daily Kos is such a highly trafficked blog.
I don’t have to read history to know the mess Dimmy Carter made. I lived it, part of the time on odd or even numbered day sitting in a gas line to buy the limit of $10 worth of gas. I also remember the booming economy from 2001 through 2006 and then the stupid party put Peeeloshi and Reid in charge. Since then the economy been all downhill like a rolling snowball, picking up speed and the destruction getting bigger. America deserves a shakeup but not the disaster Hussein O will bring.
Well, ya know… I was, for a short time, hoping that Obama would be no worse than Carter. Carter brought us Reagan. I even posited that a vote for Obama would be better than voting for McCain. I would have stuck by my original analysis if so much of Obama’s links to anti-Americanism hadn’t come to light.
I’m feeling MUCH better now.
RE: The Anti-Christ. I’m not a Christian, but I do study and pay attention. There is an odd confluence of certain Christian and Shi’a doctrine here. Toss in the Maya and the next few years may well be entertaining.
