Westboro fags’ bright idea
Squidthoughts sends along a tip that the Westboro “Baptist” Church fags had a brilliant idea to raise money. They’ve decided to protest at Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral. I guess that’s the only route left for them since many Americans are using force and the threat of force to deter them from attending many funerals.
I don’t think much of Edwards’ husband, but i can’t help but think of the venom their children will forced to suffer at the hands of these bottom-feeding, inbred halfwits.

Hmmm. They must use a different version of the Bible than I do. I could have sworn I read something in mine about being compassionate and loving.

I cannot express my loathing for these people.
It’s not up to them who is in heaven or hell. The presumption to speak for God on matters of the heart that only He can see and judge is evil, plain and simple.
They are no better than reptiles, their primitive neural non-brains drawn only to heat and movement. There will be major media coverage and thus a lot of heat and movement at Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral.
I too am not a fan of her husband. However her battle with disease, the loss of a child, the burden of preparing her children for her death, and dying with some kind of dignity are apolitical in my opinion.
My concern is with her children. I agree with Jonn, and it’s what compelled me to send this to him. No matter how anyone thinks they’ve been prepared, they still suffer massive grief at the loss of their mother. And now they will have their last moments with her tainted by the sight of raving lunatics holding huge signs that Mommy is in Hell?? A delightful memory to have.
HELL NO! Somebody please shut these assholes up!

I’m just amazed at the obvious pop-culture reference to a metal band (Godsmack) and a ska/fusion band (Smash Mouth) that they used in that line, it couldn’t have been an accidental coincidence. I know a lot of modern churches have and do integrate pop culture in an attempt to keep their younger parishioners, but the extreme fundamentalists generally don’t.
These guys really are bottom feeders. Crazy yes, but crazy like a fox. They’ve turned the American legal system into a gravy train for themselves.
I know it’s not their normal thing, but it would be nice to see the PGR come stand vigil for this woman, to protect her children from this vileness…

People need to stop thinking and beleiving that they know what God thinks and feel about any of us. I am hoping that Westbro Church have a change of mind and heart and not protest or attend Mrs. Edwards furnal.
And when did God tell Westbro Church members that he hates Elizabetha Edwards, what day and time did GOD speak to Westbro church or any of it’s members and specifically said that he Hates Elizabeth Edwards. The Westbro church should not try and pretend that they represent God or what GOD hate don’t not abuse the first amendment right with this kind of misunderstanding and the Westbro Church needs to stop pretending that the members of Westbro Church know what GOD HATE or LOVE. “I don’t pretend to know or beleive what GOD or the Devil love or hate. If Elizabetha Edwards is in hell why don’t the Westbro Church and its members go and get her out? That’s what Jesus or Hercules would do, Jesus nor Hercules would protest someone furneral. Another thing how could Elizabetha Edwards prevented death from occuring, can the members of Westbro church prevent thier owns death when death comes to them? Since Westbro church and its members know so much about Hell can they tell me Evette R. Tippett of it’s specific location?
In case you’re planning to attempt to engage WBC in a biblical debate, let me save you some time. WBC may own a church, but it’s just their address. This isn’t a church in the usual sense; it’s a group of lawyers who have found a way to make money abusing the first amendment and not pay taxes on top of it. This has NOTHING to do with religion. It’s a scheme, and a scam. A particularly vicious and subtle one, at that.
My advice would be to not waste your time attempting to “convert” them.

Seeing as how a relationship with god is fundamentally a subjective experience, one can no more tell the WBC that they have or haven’t actually received information straight from god, than I can tell anyone there is no god. There’s simply no way to prove it either way.
These guys are great for the atheist grist mill. Funny though, it requires as much faith to be an atheist as does to be a believer.

#8 Jacobite–I noticed the band names too. I doubt it was intentional as I don’t think these luddites are capable of subtle wit, but possibly so. I made a trip through the Cuckoo’s Nest and learned that they make musical ‘parodies’ for blasphemers using popular songs. Also, “GodSmack” is their cheer/attaboy response to an event that they perceive as blasphemy. From their blog God’s Wrath Revealed: “Bitter-Biker at IED dead soldier funeral, Fresno, CA: ‘He gave nothing less than what Jesus gave.’ Yikes! Each dead military brute died for HIS sins ONLY. He offers no righteous blood to give salvation to even ONE person (himself). HE IS NOT RIGHTEOUS! Christ is righteous. SHUT UP, FOOLS!! GodSmack!” Literally, a smack upside the head from God. Death is apart of life and for anyone or any organzation to proclaim and even consider protesting Elizabeth Edwards furneral is a misunderstanding of what is really going on in this world. What book and what chapter in the King James Bible is Elizabeth Edwards name in?
I am not attempting to convert the Westbro Church I am just asking them not to attend Mrs. Edwards furneral in the form of a protest.
What ever version of the Bible or religious doctrine the Westbro church uses it’s doesn’t specifically say Elizabeth Edwards is going to hell or heaven. This seems to be the Westbro Church doctrine not God or the devil. And once again they should not attend Mrs. Edwards furneral.
