Shameless Ego Inflation
Well since this is the weekend and I have not done one of these in awhile this post is going to be all about me.
The first thing that I am excited about is that I won my first Soldier of the Month Board after my third try. I will be getting a COA along with a closer parking spot for a month. Also it gives me a excuse to post a picture of me in my Class A’s.
Oh one thing I wanted to thank this site on was because we look at fake vets I found that AR-670-1 questions where one of my better topics in the board. Speaking of AR-670-1 what badge group does a Combat Action Badge fall into if the Infantry Badges is group one and the Medical Badges are in group two?
Also I am going to use this post as a excuse as a reason to put up a newer picture of my son.
That is him doing a web chat with the Grandparents. He has gotten a lot bigger and stronger since we got to Alaska. He is going to be turning three this December. Were does the time go.

Echo all the above. My remembrances of “atta boy” letters and awards meant that the that was the good part of the day, and that the Chief wanted to talk to me about some “ah shit” tasking he needed done. 🙂

So am I correct in thinking that since there is no cib or cab on that uniform, that you’ve never been anywhere?
No, But I have been to Iraq for 14 months. While you cannot see my combat patch or combat stripes on my right arm, my ICM ribbon can be seen on the middle right row. Also here are some photos of my time in Iraq.
But I have been put it for a combat badge, but I do not know if it has been approved or not. I have been following this since August 29th 2008, when my MRAP was hit with a smaller IED/UXO when another vechile set it off. This is the time that the gunner’s cage really did it’s job in protecting the gunner. I have been told that I would be getting a CAB or CMB. It has been submitted four times and I still cannot get a defined yes or no. I mean it took four months after I left my old duty station for me to get my AAM approved.
But the reason that I bring up the CAB is that there is someone who wears a CAB and a CMB at the same time. I was not sure if that was the right way.
CIB/EIB/CAB are Group 1, CMB/EFMB is Group 2. As an Infantryman I have my own opinion about the CAB, but there are many Soldiers who have rightfully earned one and deserve the honor of being awarded it. I’ve seen Infantry guys awarded the CIB who did nothing to earn one, though, and have heard many stories of similar instances about the CAB.
If you ask me, either the CMB should be made a Group 1 badge (leaving 4 groups) or the CAB should have been made Group 2. Many Medics were less than happy when the CAB was first adopted. On the other hand, it does give Medics a chance to earn another little trinket for their uniform.
Another idea from a lowly NCO: make the combat badges all Group 1 and the EIB/EFMB Group 2. Give those of us with both combat and expert badges a chance to show off. Hell, make an Expert Soldiering Badge too while we are at it. I don’t think the Army has enough badges yet. 🙂
Good Grief Sporkster, where is the Medal of Honor with second award, the Bronze star, the pathfinders badge, Spec Forces tab, Ranger Tab, jump wings. With the uniform shown, people will think that you aren’t creative. I mean, why wear only what you’ve earned. Haven’t you read this site for long enough to know that what ya really gotta do is Jazz up that AG-44 suit, dude. Make yourself stand out.
I do not have any of that, but did I tell you about how I get this bad boy?
