That is not the Wes Clark that I Know
Hey Wes, watch out for that bus!
Wes Clark’s amazingly idiotic comments yesterday on Face the Nation about John McCain’s lack of “executive” experience has caused a deserved shit storm all over the internet.
This morning on “Morning Joe” Andrea Mitchell seemed to think that Clark’s comments were “really dumb”.
MITCHELL: Because every time you hear Barack Obama talk about John McCain and most recently Hillary Clinton on Friday in Unity, New Hampshire, echoing it, they say “we honor his service.” That is the predicate for of course taking a shot at him in some other very, you know, substantive way at least. But this is going after the very thing that Barack Obama and all of his people have been very careful not to touch. They have not criticized his military service because they think it will backfire, clearly, to do that, and maybe they even feel that way. So for Wes Clark as a surrogate to go after John McCain is really dumb, I think. It goes against everything the Obama campaign has been trying to do, and I think it’s going to have some ramifications. One thing I can tell ya is: it certainly means he’s not going to be on that short list for Vice-President.
Clark is certainly no stranger to gaffes and if you look closely, you can find a contradiction is almost every statement this opportunist ever makes.
“I live by a simple rule. If you wore the uniform, if you served your nation with honor, and especially if you fought and were wounded in battle, then you have earned the right to be treated with respect.”
“That’s why I am so outraged that the Republican Party has systematically attacked the wartime service and patriotism of veterans who are running for office as Democrats. It is despicable—the sign of a party more concerned about hanging onto power by any means possible than with giving veterans the respect they have earned.”
General Wesley Clark, October 2006
There is no doubt that what Clark said was pretty stupid; the question is why did he say it?
This was nothing more than another episode of Clark’s constant shameless self-promotion. Clark made it to 4-star and McCain didn’t was the point Clark wanted to make. When Schieffer mentioned that Obama doesn’t have any experience either, Clark offered the smile of superiority, practically screaming that he is more qualified than both candidates.
I predict Clark will find himself under the bus before 3:00 pm today.

COB6 Clark is under the bus with tire marks before noon P.S.T.Did you notice positive remarks about Petraeus?Thought speach was well done.Note Believe Mac must pick Romney to have any chance. He picks after Obama who I now think will pick Gebhardt or Clinton.Happy 4th.
SPEECH is correct.Happy 4th to all the patriots out there.R.W. USMCR
Obama said in his speech today;
“For those who have fought under the flag of this nation – for the young veterans I meet when I visit Walter Reed; for those like John McCain who have endured physical torment in service to our country -– no further proof of such sacrifice is necessary. And let me also add that no one should ever devalue that service, especially for the sake of a political campaign, and that goes for supporters on both sides.”
Now, if Barry would only stop devaluing the accomplishments of our troops and their mission in Iraq for the sake of his political campaign.
Wes Clark = Sh*tbird. Where are the quotes that Republicans have dissed military service. Get it right, you F-ing sh*tbird!! Red Nancy, Murtha, Land deal Reid, Biden ring any bells?
yep he’s now under that very crowded bus and not sorry.

Obama has never devalued the accomplishment of our troops and praised them and Petraeus specifically in his speech. His problem is with continuing(how many years?)ineffectiveness of their govt.
COB6 Wrote. So why did he skip the vote denouncing the “Betray us” ad from MoveOn? He cast two other votes that same day. Why? Because he’s a total tool fo the far left and did not have the courage to denounce anything from MoveON.
Anyone who supports Barry Hussein, supports all that he stands for. Abortion, (spell that killing innocent children in the womb), a castrated military, and a wimp State Policy. And on and on. God save this country with MoveOn.org running the show if congress AND the presidency become theirs. To say nothing of Obama stating that in tough times he will be on the side of the Moslems. Wes “the Pimp” Clark is a puss, just a minor annoyance to the US of A.

“I predict Clark will find himself under the bus before 3:00 pm today.”
I think your bus came early, didn’t it?
Frankie When you suggest Obama has ever said in tough times he’d be “on the side of the Muslims” is total bullshit.P.S. I assume you are not voting for McCain: for stem cell research, believes global warming serious problem, for comprehensive immigation reform, throws “W” under the bus every chance he gets, etc.etc

Every time Obama declares the Surge a failure, he devalues the accomplishments of our troops in Iraq. What our servicemen and women have accomplished over the past year is worthy of both our acknowledgement and praise, especially from the individuals who hope to serve as their CIC one day. Who wants to serve under some mealy-mouthed ingrate who insists on calling you a failure in spite of your success and the mountain of evidence to support it.
BTW, what is it with the incongruity of “Yes We Can” do everything and anything under the sun except succeed in Iraq?? All that tells me is that BO lacks the leadership skills and qualities required in a Commander in Chief. If he wants to parrot al Qaeda’s propaganda, he should put on a turban and join bin Laden in the Hindu Kush.
Obama acknowledges the surge has worked militarily but not politically. He,as most Americans, question why we went in and has it been worth the casualties. These are legitimate and not unpatriotic questions. At this point having suffered these losses everyone wants “victory” so these losses are not in vain. Please define victory so we can agree on that yardsick first. As for Mac if it wasn’t for the surge he’d still be flying coach between Phoenix and Flagstaff paying for his peanuts and you’d have an actual Conservative as your nominee.
rw – It should come as no surprise that the American people reward leaders who make the right calls during a crisis, so it goes to figure that Mac should benefit from the success of the policy that he advocated. As for Obama, I guess that he has been too busy campaigning to notice the advances in the political and reconciliation processes that have been made in Iraq since his last trip in 2006. He most certainly has been too preoccupied with more important matters – what they could possibly be for a candidate running for president during a time of war, I can’t imagine – to take the time to fly over there and find out for himself. However, as we all know, such a trip poses great political risks for Mr. Obama – if he goes over there and acknowledges the security and political gains that have been made in Iraq, and adjusts his policy and rhetoric accordingly, he will be forced to throw his anti-war base under the bus along with all the other roadkill that has made the mistake of getting in his path. If Barry could summon the humility and political courage necessary to put this country’s interests before his own, I would think a lot more of the man, despite his Marxist proclivities. However, I think it’s a bit much to expect this leopard to change his spots in this case. As for defining victory, or the fulfillment of our policy goals as they pertain to Iraq and our wider national security and economic interests, I believe that we have already accomplished several of our major goals – we have taken down Saddam’s Tikriti mafia and his philanthropy of terror, and we’ve dealt al Qaeda a strategic military and propaganda defeat in Iraq that has also harmed and discredited the Islamist Internationale worldwide. In doing so, we are also better positioned to defend our vital interests and allies in the Middle East while championing the forces of democracy and human rights in the region. I agree with you that it is legitimate to question… Read more »
Good post. From the top.A minority of Repub.voters gave nom. to Mac as the majority of Repubs. split Cons. vote between Romney,Huck, and Thompson.Advances in political and reconcilliation process have been minor at best. Before and after his election Obama will travel to Iraq and meet with political and military leaders. With Petraeus he’ll formulate a plan for an orderly and effective withdrwal of troops as mandated by the American electorate.Al-Maliki will get the message!Dem anti war base is so anti Bush they’ll vote for Obama regadless. After 8 years of Bush/Cheney/Rove any signs of humility would be an improvement.I think Barack is a pragmatist who’ll be center of an increased Dem. majority in Congress.I see no path to Mac victory. He must pick Romney to keep it close;win Michigan but lose Virg ,Iowa, Fla;Colo.N.M.tossup.Pick Christ he wins Fla. but loses Michigan, Colo.,Nev.Any other choice big win for Obama. He wins with any V
cont veep pick though Gebhardt brings Missou. and possibly Ohio.Clinton although an unlikely pick brings slam dunk victory.Have a great 4th Note CRIST NOT CHRIST though HE would help and Mac may lose some of those votes to Obama if not careful.
