VFF calls for apology from Blumenthal

| May 19, 2010

On Fox News this morning, Pete Hegseth, our friend and Executive Director of Vets For Freedom demanded an apology from Connecticut Attorney General Blumenthal to his opponents and to all Vietnam Veterans;

Claymore sends us a link to Democratic Underground (in my opinion, Claymore spends more time there than I would consider healthy) in which many DUmmies are more than willing to throw Blumenthal from the train. I guess that’s reflective of the Democrats’ worries about losing Congress in November.

I guess that’s what it takes to make Democrats aware of their candidates beyond the (D) next to their names.

On the other hand, TSO sent a link yesterday to Jim Starowiscz’ post blaming Blumenthal’s duplicity on the Nixon White House somehow.

Meanwhile, speaking of morons with megaphones, Gordon DUff ignores the biggest story in the country right now to call the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan so they can seal the border. Not a mention of Blumenthal in Veterans Today “Top 10 Veterans Story in Today’s News“.

What passes for news at AP? The fact that Blumenthal ONCE stated the character of his service correctly.

The Connecticut VFW commander rightly blasted Blumenthal;

Richard DiFederico, the commander of Connecticut’s Veterans of Foreign Wars, said he won’t forgive the comments either, whether they were intentional or not.

“It diminishes the service of all who served and sacrificed, most especially those whose names are inscribed on the Vietnam Wall,” he said. “Mr. Blumenthal was considered one of the best friends a veteran could have in Connecticut. It is a true shame that he let a false claim of Vietnam service change that.”

An unconfirmed rumor is spreading that Jesse MacBeth and Ward Reilly are inviting Blumenthal to join the Iraq Veterans Against the War since he has the same amount of time in Iraq as most of the membership and he’s pretty good at lying with a straight face..

How dare you make fun of IVAW! You are nothing but a war mongering, genocidal, imperialist, racist, xenophobe, baby seal murdering, rapist, baby killer!

IVAW has been fighting against the wars for years and years and have spent un-told amounts of money and they have done more than you ever have. I mean seriously, look at everything they’ve gotten done! Many lying, non-vets of Iraq or Afghanistan have been able to live off the donations of good people. They’ve been able drive off almost all of those murdering, rapist, real Iraq Vets who are against the war to make room for the progressive, forward thinking, International Socialist Organization members.

How dare you! Your time is coming!

REVOLUTION!

SOLIDARITY with RAPIST!

Ahem…my lurking at DU is purely academic. I’m like Jane Goodall watching the monkeys throw poo at each other, except I look better in a kilt and the monkeys over there all smell like pachouli.

Revelations that Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, a person whose office succeeds on the meaning of words, in fact a person who has clerked for noted jurists and appeared before the US Supreme Court, mislead veterans and veterans advocates from across the nation by embellishing his veterans credentials through what must be construed as deliberate lies about serving in Viet Nam with the US Marine Corps are painful and the epitome of hypocrisy in my opinion.

Richard Blumenthal is well known for his catch phrases in firing digs at the then- Commander in Chief President George W. Bush. He has carefully crafted a public image that relies on perception , not reality of his works on behalf of veterans to include the non-existent, yet widely -touted specially trained veterans claims team in his office.

Blumenthal’s unrestrained and unmitigated gall has debased the service and sacrifice of an entire generation of American heroes who left their blood, limbs and often their tortured minds in the jungles of Vietnam. That is unacceptable from someone who holds others to their word in a court of law, and waxes ad infinitum about accountability while claiming immunity. Press releases are not results, they are just words.

I am proud to support the candidacy of Rob Simmons for US Senate . Rob is a veteran of proven integrity, impeccable credentials and someone who has actively advocated and legislated veterans issues for decades. Blumenthal is all bluster while Rob Simmons is the real deal.

amazing stuff here

Veterans For Freedom??? Is that organization still around?

I wonder who gets more hits IVAW or VFF? I bet it’s really close.

That is exactly what the nazis did in ww2: sending all the war-hardened and de-sentisized veterans to countries where the population might revolt, to work out their frustration and hate over a spoilt life, not on the authorities that send them but on the population that had become total strangers to them after the realities of ww2. the sight of Iraq-or Iran-vets in the streets of America is bound to scare maximum.
