Jon Soltz: enslave the brown people

| March 11, 2010

Just like everything else that VoteVets supports that doesn’t have anything to do with the military, Jon Soltz, veteran of three months in Kuwait hearing the Iraq War in the distance, has decided that *surprise* another Democrat vote-buy supported by the MoveOn crowd is related to the military. Immigration.

Let’s read to his plan to enslave the brown people from south of our border to do our bidding in the war against terror;

We don’t know exactly how many potential troops we’re robbing our military of, as it fights dangerous enemies around the world, by continuing an immigration policy that leads far too many undocumented immigrants to stay in the shadows. What we do know, however, is that the current system keeps many of them from the benefits military service offers in terms of education, a living wage, health care, and pensions, which many would find generous enough to consider service. According to Senator Dick Durbin, tens of thousands of undocumented immigrants could become recruits.

By opening up the path to citizenship, and adding tens of thousands of new service members, those currently in our Armed Forces can get some much-needed relief. A young man from Oklahoma who is away from his wife and kids because of his fifth tour in Afghanistan might get rotated out and given a much needed rest on the home-front, if we allow immigrants to come out the shadows and serve.

OK, so maybe he didn’t say “enslave” the brown people, but just like the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell debate, we’re expected to believe that by passing all of this legislation, gays and illegals are just lined up around the corner of every recruiting station in the country waiting for the opportunity to join the military. I don’t see it.

I make all these points, first and foremost, because I love our military, and care about the people serving right now.

Then why don’t you carry your incompetent ass over to the Middle East and put in a few months for someone right now, Jon?

I don’t have anything against immigrants serving – I remember the story in the early months of the Iraq War when a platoon of Salvadorans were ambushed by al Qaeda. Armed only with machetes, the Salvadorans charged into the withering gunfire and hacked their attackers to tiny pieces. That’s the kind of people I want on my side.

But Soltz misses the point, in his usual manner. These illegals broke the law to get into this country – do we really want felons forgiven and serving alongside people who obey the law? And doesn’t their willingness to break our laws, and the laws of their own countries, by the way, kind of cast a pall over ALL immigrants, even the ones who obeyed the laws and came here legally?

Of course, Soltz muddles the whole argument by quoting patriotic legal immigrants to justify forgiveness for the illegals.

In fact, one immigrant in the military once said, “I’m a Cuban refugee who came to this country when I was 10 years old and flunked the sixth grade because I couldn’t speak English.” That immigrant was Army Brigadier General Bernardo Negrete, who was a special operations officer with four tours of duty….

Yeah, Soltz, you dumbass, we’re not discussing racism here, we discussing law breakers, and your quote completely misses the target. My wife is a legal Spanish-accented immigrant, and she hates the way she’s treated like a criminal because of the actions of others – how she has to prove her innocence every time she applies for a job or credit.

If you really care about the troops in uniform currently serving, you’d be against immigration reform as currently supported by Democrats in Congress.

Glad to see Soltz is happy with the pay scale in the military now, but of course as a CPT he would be. He included the liberal catchphrase ‘living wage’.

He also managed to ignore the illegal word and instead prefers to classify them as ‘living in the shadows’.

Hey Jon, I served with tons of guys who were in this country legally but not yet full fledged citizens. People from Armenia, Trinidad/Tobago, and folks with dual citizenship like Canada and even Israel.

All we are saying is if you are coming to this country sign the guest book like all of the preceding generations of immigrants or hasn’t he ever heard of Ellis Island. Sure does make it easier when folks are researching their roots to have that record.

My grand parents arrived in this country from Germany, fleeing the changes they saw coming from the Nazi’s and he served in the SeaBees during WWII. They wouldn’t let him serve in Europe.

His whole argument is spurious. Without an increase in total number of troops, they could line up at the recruiting office and still coulnd’t serve, even if the laws were changed to allow them to.

I got it! this is how you get more people in the military to vote for Democrats.
I bet they are already thinking about how military poles will change.
I wish he would have addressed the language barrier. I do not want to be out in combat trying to request support from an ESL (English as a second language) TOC operator. Cutting through people accents are bad enough as it is; that is a comment about a lot of different accents not any one specifically.
Also, let’s look at the growing drug war problem. Some people already believe that elements of the Mexican army and some free lance mercenaries have sold their services to the drug cartels to aid in getting drug shipments over the boarder without getting captured.
So, what would stop a cartel recruit from jumping the boarder, joining the Army or Marines, completing training and then going AWOL? Let’s not even think about what would happen if these guys start going AWOL with duty weapons. Note, I have been in the field an know of people leaving field problems by way of POV without authorization. It would not be that hard to take your 240 or 249 with you.
This guy just ignores any kind of security risks.
are bad enough as it is.

I have had too many friends who have come here legally. They have to fill out tons of paperwork, prove they can do something here, go through physical examinations just to get here.

It pisses me off when I hear stories like one of my wife’s friend. He has been married to an Italian woman for over 10 years. She went back to Italy because her father was dying while he stayed in the US and worked. Her father’s cancer went into remission and when she tried coming back they wouldn’t let her. Eventually he ended up moving to Italy because it was just easier.

Man oh man, Soltz is such a pathetic hack. As a veteran I’m embarrassed for him. He is a good soldier alright, a good soldier for the Democrats. Soltz, how can you wear the uniform only for the purpose of being a partisan stooge?

And, how he talks about military service like it’s some welfare program….

Funny, whenever I go to the Home Depot I sure don’t see the illegals standing in any shadows. I have to fight them off my truck with a bat.

After four years of people whining that poor blacks and Mexicans were fighting the rich white man’s wars, he wants us to reform immigration so that more poor Mexicans can enlist in the military? In the immortal words of Hank Hill, “That boy ain’t right.”

The American people are being dissolved by immigration. Almost all from the third world. Immigration near moratorium now! Its a health, wage suppression, policing, and national security issue. Yet the progressive causcus is cooing over it. This is simply treason.

Stolz isn’t the only one pushing this by any means. Rachel Klienfeld over at the Trueman national security project mentioned this. Bill Clinton also mentioned not that long ago, answering a question about what happened to the right wing conspiracy. Their thesis is that the right’s base is “dying”, which is not true. When you subtract immigration, the only place where the native born are birthing at replacement levels are red state/counties across the country.

What the hell do you think happened to California? I saw a article awhile back about the California Tea partiers being “Reagan’s California” or what was left of it. Wrong that is America(n) California. What in less then fifteen years, the poplulation explodes and 3/4ths of the state goes from being competitive to solid blue. Its the Demographics. Now even Texas! YES Texas! Is supposedly going that way too. What’d you say the border? Nah move along, nothing to see here.

There is no need to recruit foreigners in mass to fight our battles for us. The US has generally done a good job of not creating foreign legion type entities. Though we stood up foreign militaries for they’re own domestic defence.
