Qatari Emiri Air Force facility to be hosted on a US Air Force base

| October 10, 2025

The Pentagon agreed to host a Qatari Emiri Air Force facility on a U.S. Air Force Base in Idaho. Qatar played a role with securing the Gaza peace deal. The facility will be for Qatari F-15 aircraft and their pilots. The Qatari Emiri Air Force facility will be located at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. Secretary of War Hegseth said that this would facilitate joint training between the US and Qatar.

From Fox News:

“Today, we’re announcing a letter of acceptance in building a Qatari Emiri Air Force facility at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho,” Hegseth said.

The new base will host Qatari F-15 fighter jets and pilots, enabling joint training operations with U.S. forces. The location will “enhance our combined training, increase lethality, interoperability,” Hegseth said.

He added that the project reflects the depth of the U.S.-Qatari defense partnership and thanked Qatar for its involvement in recent diplomatic efforts.

“You have been a core part of what has unfolded in Gaza, a historic moment,” Hegseth said. “We’re grateful for the strong partnership that we have, the way you support our troops at Al Udeid, Your Excellency, the line of communication we’ve had together.”

Al Thani echoed the same message, calling the Gaza peace deal a “historic achievement” that demonstrates “what can be accomplished when our nations work together.”

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that Israel and Hamas had agreed to a cease-fire, crediting Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for their roles in mediating the deal.

By Friday, Israel and Hamas had agreed to the first phase of the peace plan, which calls for the release of all hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli troops from most of Gaza.

“No one other than President Trump could have achieved the peace–what we believe will be a lasting peace–in Gaza,” Hegseth said Friday.

Lotsa sheep in that area.

Meh. There is ample precedent.

Germany had a large flight training activity at Holloman AFB in NM from 1 May 1996 – 1 April 2019 (German Air Force Training Facility). Singapore, the UK, and Italy also apparently have military flight training activities and/or programs located at US installations today. There may be other foreign military training activities hosted by the US as well; I’m not going to do an exhaustive search. Plus, the US has trained a load of friendly military personnel at various CONUS defense facilities and courses over the last few decades.

Bottom line: nothing new here except the nation involved this time happens to be Qatar.

Well said. I believe there are several foreign nation facilities at Mountain Home.

I think the Brits have one at Edwards.

It’s no different than our setup at Al Udeid in Qatar (and dozens of other nations), except the ones in the US seem to be specifically for training rather than operational/expeditionary reasons.

Yup, had an Iraqi pilot dump one outside of Douglas.

Sheppard AFB (Wichita Falls, Texas) hosts the Euro-NATO flight training program, so there’s that as well.

Luftwaffe Raketenschule for ADA was at Ft. Bliss for years, for all I knew went to Ft. Sill when the duckhunters did. Luftwaffe was doing Wild Weasel training at Holloman, attached pic is a beer mug from their 1998 Oktoberfest.

Qatari’s are not a close enough ally for this level of trust. This is because of so many brined given to Trump by the Qatari’s.

So is this security commitment we just provided the Qatari’s…

They are getting what they paid Trump for.

And before you start bitching about my comment, just Google “has Qatar bribed Trump?”

Your sources have likely not been covering the number of bribes Qatar has paid Trump.

SFC D

You’re still in the country? Your leadership has fled.

No. He is still here….

Apparently, his girlfriend is in custody.

Bondi insists she actually exists, but none of us would know her, she goes to a different school. In Canada.

Do you dumb fuck really not understand that antifa is not an organization? It doesn’t have leaders. It is literally anyone that opposes fascism.

Even the administration knows you all are idiots. They think you are stupid enough to believe antifa has a “founder” and that they have his girlfriend.

You all buy the dumbest shit these fucking morons tell you.

I bet you are waiting for your checks for the 900% reduction in prescription costs.

And believe that immigrants take 107% of all jobs.

They say this shit and you dumb fucks still insist they are not lying to you.

The ironically named “antifa” is an organization, cellular in nature. It has leaders ( or cadre if one is being traditional), it is communist in theory, anarchist not at all, and fascist in behavior.

And thus no one is surprised you are part of that anti american train wreck.

The only thing it opposes is America as a free country. It is a box-stock communist insurgency. An antique evil in civilized times.

And you chose poorly, Comrade.

“Do you dumb fuck really not understand that antifa is not an organization? It doesn’t have leaders. It is literally anyone that opposes fascism.“

Yes, the definition of the word “antifa” is exactly as you say. I award you one point. However…

The group using the name “Antifa” is organized, well-planned, financed, and is obviously in possession of a communications network. In plain English, an “Organization”. Uniformed, a common banner they march under, a shared ideology they unite under. What’s that you say? They’re just an ideology? Every organization that ever existed operates under an ideology. Every business, every religion, every civic group, you name it. So play your silly word games, everyone with eyes sees right through you.

Enjoy your Saturday. Got riot plans?

Long post. Hope it was worth typing all of that to get those “5 dimes” from your PLA handlers, Commissar Wumao.

Hopefully they won’t deduct one or more of those dimes for incorrect grammar (noun-adjective agreement).

So who would be a close enough ally? Saudi Arabia? Jordan? Syria? Russia? China?

If you don’t answer the question you are a coward.

If they are able to reduce the need for reliance on religion as a means of controlling their populace, and by being dependent upon us for logistics and training that would give them a reason to stop supporting the theocratic regimes in their region.
This might reduce some of the need for our physical presence in that region, which is the birth place of three major religions, and the trading crossroads for the last 3 thousand years. The middle east even before the petro financed countries became players have always been a contested area.
I am not thrilled with the presence of forgien nationals on US soil, but as noted elsewhere it has a well established precedent.
Is the fact that this administration is doing real things in pursuit of peace, but not getting nominated for the nobel prize, but the former drone strike in chief got one within weeks of being sworn in with absolutely no achievements in office.
