Obama: Hey, I’m Bush

miss-me-yet-bush

William McGurn in the pages of the Wall Street Journal writes this morning that President Obama is finally admitting that President Bush was right about a lot of stuff related to the war against terrorists. But like Arthur Fonzerelli he can’t quite get the words out that Obama has been wrong;

“I think that the most important thing for the public to understand,” he told Ms. Couric, “is we’re not handling any of these cases any different than the Bush administration handled them all through 9/11.” Mr. Obama went on to add that “190 folks”—folks presumably just like the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks—had been tried and convicted in civilian court during Mr. Bush’s tenure.

Leave aside, for just a moment, the substance. Far more arresting is that Mr. Obama now defends himself by invoking a man he has spent the past year blaming for al Qaeda’s growth. You know—all those Niebuhrian speeches about how America had gone “off course,” “shown arrogance and been dismissive,” and “made decisions based on fear rather than foresight,” thus handing al Qaeda a valuable recruiting tool.

Funny how that works, huh? All of that talk about “critical thinking” and dissent being patriotic doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Hell when it’s all put into practice. “Critical thinking” means putting your thumb in your ass and looking pleased with yourself.

By the way, that DeMotivator at the top of this post is mysteriously sitting on a billboard in Minnesota.

Might want to add this in there as well:

Apparently now dissent = helping Al Qaeda. From the same folks that fought that tooth and nail for 8 years.

Wow. Have you read some of the comments in the NPR link? Geez those people are DERANGED. I really think there is a DNA link to the political side you stand on. They’re rabid dogs foaming idiocy everywhere……

OldTrooper

Well, if you care to read som of the comments over at the NPR link, they are still calling Bush an idiot, etc. I expected to see such comments over there, since the people who read and listen to NPR are the same drooling moonbats that voted for and still love Obama.

What’ really funny about the article, over there, is they are bound and determined to find out who put it up and who paid for it, as though it is their job to know who would do such a thing. Maybe they need to know so they can have that person’s name put at the top of the state enemies list? They’re frcken pathetic to the 10th degree over there.

OT,
It is that vast rightwing, big business sponsored, racist cabal of conspirators against the agenda of good and fluffy things O and the left is for. Nobody in their right mind would think that Bush was a better president than O… O is the chosen one…
Obama, Obama, Obama, Obama, Obama…

(I got bit by a Obamazombie last night.)

Rush had a caller today who stated that it’s also in another State. Missouri, I think? I can’t remember. But apparently they are popping up in a few places now, but people still aren’t sure who is paying to put them up. I think it’s great. heh

There is a huge point here that everyone is missing.

According to Obama, President Bush tried 190 suspected terrorists in civilian court.

But Obama and his lackeys have been telling us that for eight years, Bush ignored the rule of law, trampled on the Constitution, and tortured everyone who had an Islamic name.

Is the media going to pick up on the fact that Obama is now giving credit to Bush for acting legally and constitutionally?

((crickets))

dutch508

I thought they were saying 300 suspected terrorists tried in civilian court.

Or was that yesterday’s numbers?

Spook86

190 tried + 110 created or saved = 325,000 created or saved +/- a handful

Sure would look good on I-70 around Colby.

HEY! SPOOK 86:
Are you a liberal? You seem to understand their math pretty good. I have an Obamabot liberal sister and she explained all that to me. She can see it clearly though and cannot understand why I just don’t get it. Makes me wonder about you? How you know these things anyway?

The assertion by President Obama to Ms. Couric, as cited in the excerpted Wall Street Journal article above, that his administration is not handling the terror cases any differently than President Bush’s administration handled them all through 9/11 and that 190 terror suspects were tried and convicted in civilian courts under President Bush, seems to fly in the face of the criticism and opposition voiced by Jim Hanson and the Warrior Legacy Foundation regarding President Obama’s “law enforcement approach” to terrorism, which Mr. Hanson strongly criticized on Fox News just recently and which was also the subject of a paper recently put out by the Warrior Legacy Institute (which I tried to find online again, but was unable to locate it).

But here is the YouTube video of Mr. Hanson compaining about the very thing that Mr. Obama says they aren’t doing (which was also the subject of a recent TAH post):

CWO SAMEK RET,
You forgot to peg Rev. Wright with a marxist liberation theology moniker…. I’ll try to find the video link where the satanic rev. openly admitted to being a marxist.

Gives kudos to a political system that has generated more corpses than any prior. I could projectile vomit.

JAG, it’s ok for Rev. Wright to get a woody for Marxism. You see, once we’re governed by the Marxists, he’ll be one of the ones in charge, so he’s down with it. As long as they get to decide who gets shipped to the camps and who gets stood against the nearest wall, all is good.
