Trump: Congressional Budget Office admits that the tariffs reduced the deficit by $4 trillion dollars
President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to announce that the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has admitted that the tariffs have reduced the deficit by $4 trillion dollars. The CBO initially reported the negative effects that the Big Beautiful Bill would have. The CBO and others did not appear to want to acknowledge the good that would result from Trump’s economic policies.
From Newsmax:
“I am pleased to announce that the Radical Left Representatives working at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) have now admitted how incredible my Tariff strategy has been, saying that, ‘Trump’s Tariffs reduce the deficit by $4 Trillion Dollars,'” Trump wrote Friday on Truth Social. “When I began my tariff policy suggestions, they refused to acknowledge the potential success that would be derived.
“Deficits are down, taxes are down, energy is down, prices generally are down, the only things that are up are, take home pay, the stock market, and our country, which is the ‘hottest’ anywhere in the world. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The CBO has come under fire from Republicans over its recent assessments of Trump’s economic agenda.
A report released earlier this month at Democrats’ request claimed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed by Trump on July 4, disproportionately benefits higher earners while reducing income for low-wage Americans.

Yay!!!
USA! USA! USA!
Unpossible! The economic geniuses said; “NOE! All calamities!!! It will be the end of us and ruin!!!! Alas, Globalism”
Things I have learned this year (so far):
My wife and I were discussing the other day that we seem to see the economy improving everywhere except in the grocery stores and at the gas pumps. I’ll be glad when the good trickles down to those areas. I know that it takes time to fix 6 years of idiotic liberal policies.
Oil and produce is suffering a bit from tariffs from our two largest energy and food traders, Canada and Mexico. Tariffs are 10% and 25% respectively. These aren’t going away and being ignored by the media broadly. The US produces ample oil and food to supply the whole country but it is a question of getting it to the right spot at the right time.
Personally I’m unaffected by either, I ride a motorcycle to work and shop after work before I go home. I use about 5 gallons of fuel a month for work and shopping. That isn’t a typo, it’s about five gallons a month. Food is still high but no higher than it was last year and the year before from my perspective.
I then go to the commissary once a month to pick up the heavy groceries including meat for the freezer, bulk and dry goods. Last month I spent an unintended extra $900 when I went because I was dumb enough to go to the PX and saw they had a Canik SFX Rival-S in stock with local price match and no tax and that was all she wrote.
I drive a 2014 Silverado but have had the pleasure of working at home since Winter of 2021. As it stands now, I put about 500 miles a MONTH on my truck. I’ve changed the oil annually since 2022.
The wife and I both put about 5000 miles on our jeeps in the last 12 months. I fill up about once a month, she fills up about every 6 weeks. Yup, annual oil changes. My commute is maybe 16 miles roundtrip. Yuge difference from my last job that was around 70 roundtrip. Went from 4 tanks a month to one.
Gas is either 2.59 here or 2.99. 2.59 on Wed and 2.99 on Sunday. It will drop…spike…drop. Crazy how it works
Circle K does a special about once a month, 40 cents off for gas club members.
You’re lucky. Washington gas price for regular at COSTCO is $4.44 a gallon for regular today. Thanks to our past (D) governor, his (D) replacement and the majority (D) legislature.
Gotta love that Carbon not-a-tax on fuel that goes into pet projects that does *nothing* for “climate change.”
That’s why I left Washington last year.
West Side woes?
Down here in SE WA its $4.10 a gallon at Circle K. Haven’t been by one of the Costcos to see their prices yet.
Just be glad you aren’t in Commiefornia. I see that gas there is almost $5.00 a gallon for regular. In some blue cities it is pushing $6 or more.
When you sue all the gasoline refiners and they all start leaving the state out of self preservation, there are consequences.
They have Gavin Newsom and his idiotic minions to thank for that, his “war on oil” that’s about to shutter two refineries in that State and send its gasoline prices even higher! Oh, and let’s not forget that the people in California already pay the highest fuel taxes in the USA.
Especially point #4.
“Evil people will burn their nation to the ground so they can rule over the ashes.” Liberals have proven themselves to be that breed of evil, just look at EVERY crime and poverty-infested urban hellhole in the USA, ALL of them are in areas lorded over by D-rats for decades and anymore it’s my belief that they WANT it that way because that makes it easier for them to manipulate their masses.
He said “all we needed was a new president” but, wow, you can stretch that sentence out to apply to almost any element of government.
So does this mean I can get all my tax dollars back? That’s when I believe what any politician says about money…
We are at the dangerous part now. Suddenly we have a lot of money in our pockets that wasn’t there a minute ago. Do we do the responsible thing and pay down our debt? If it is up to congress they will just find something else to spend the money on, just like that E3 that buys the ten year old Camaro at 47% interest.
Instead we need to pay down all that debt, which is ridiculous amounts of money.
Pay to operate the country with no increased spending, send the money back to tax payers. I want that Camaro!
A true E3 would get the Camaro and a 39 year old stripper.
With five kids from five different baby daddies.
And a house trailer on a junkyard lot.
Soon to be 6 kids from 6 different baby daddies, all paid for by the same E3 that useta have a camaro he still owes money on. He, or now his stripper wife, drives a mini van that he hasn’t seen in weeks. Owes money on all 3.
“we need to pay down all that debt”
Whadda ya mean “we”?
Pay debt, bank rest.
“Government always finds a need for whatever money it gets.” – Ronald Reagan
Cool!

Just in, fingers crossed about first reports… Cracker Barrel “woke”-tards fold:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/cracker-barrel-announces-return-old-230123150.html
I heard about that on the radio coming home from work, *WHOOT!*.
Makes me happier than it really should. I just love seeing idiots learn hard lessons.
Hmmmm
I wonder if they will now re-remodel the stores previously remodeled.
What???????I was told by all the greatest economic minds, the same that said inflation was transitory in 2021 BTW, that would have total economic collapse and we’d be buying goods with wampum.
That’s nothing, you should hear what Jerome Powell said this morning.
Unrelated:
And she was arrested for it… William Wallace weeps, the Scots are reduced to arresting a teenage girl for defending herself from muzzie rapists..
Progressive dysfunction doing what the Axis couldn’t.
Suck it, Scotts!
And I know I’m days behind but Imma just drop this here….
I really, really want to hear from our resident leftist looney pigeon how and why this is a bad thing.
It’ll be something about Trump reducing the deficit by raising prices on average Americans while maximizing profits for his billionaire buddies. Add in a paragraph about how we’re all cultists defending a convicted felon/pedophile/rapist/grifter/Epstein associate.
Pretty much… prosperity is racist and homophobic, Trump is evil, etc. (something like that).
No different than the BushHitlerChimpyHalliburton bullshit the left spewed during the GW years.
So this is over ten years, assuming tariffs stay the same. The BBB raised deficits by $4.1T over ten years, assuming nothing changes. So that means over ten years the deficit will increase by $100B.
None of that really natters though. No spending and tax bill survives for ten years.
