People and companies hired him for his influence peddling racket with his father’s connections to the government and other entities. Law firms hired him for the clients he could get them because Daddy was a senator, then VP, and then president. The only time this turd has been in a court room is as a party or criminal defendant. Would not the pardon wipe clean the slate for retaining the license? Assuming so, must be something else lurking in a stare court.

He can always fall back on his art career. His sold pieces have netted nearly $2M so far. I have heard that they may have depreciated a tiny bit though. Also speaking engagements would be great too. Like at 12 step programs.
In an affidavit filed in court, Hunter says he has only sold his paintings for an average of $54K. And he is now broke.
I guess if your business model is selling political influence and you have no more to peddle, you go broke.

Biden consented to disbarment because he was on the verge of being disbarred because of his felony gun purchase conviction for lying on the form 4473 about his not being a drug abuser. Daddy’s pardon could not excuse his disbarment proceedings.
On another note, he is being sued by his former criminal defense attorneys for over $50K in unpaid legal fees. Apparently the Murdaugh lawyer was hired for that case, as all Hunter’s defamation suits have been dismissed.
Hunter is going to write a book. He’s put together a focus group and is shopping titles:

If the pardons stand, and he gets hauled before Congress, I’ve read somewhere that the pardon tosses your chance of pleading the 5th, and you must answer any questions asked. Any truth to that?
My non-lawer brain says since there’s no longer an issue of self-incrimination, your rights under the 5th are dust in the wind and you are compelled to answer. Disclaimer: I have never been forced to give up my law license.

The pardon does preclude the 5th as to any federal crimes. As far as his licensing in any other state, if a lawyer is disbarred in one state, he will be disbarred in any other state where he is licensed.
Can someone be disbarred as a practicing barracks lawyer? Asking for a friend.
