Armed citizen in South Carolina kills attacker in self-defense, police say
One person is dead after a shooting Monday night in Hardeeville.

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. —
A suspect in an attempted carjacking is dead in South Carolina after an armed citizen shot him to protect himself and others, according to Hardeeville Police.Police said officers responded around 9:40 p.m. Monday to a report of someone holding a victim at gunpoint, and trying to get them out of a vehicle.
Witnesses saw the suspect run off on Whyte Hardee Boulevard. Moments later, responding officers heard gunshots in the area of 20750 Whyte Hardee Blvd.
Officers found two men, one of whom had suffered gunshot wounds.
Officers and rescue personnel attempted life-saving measures, and the victim was taken to the hospital and died.
Police now believe the man who died was “actively involved in attempted armed assaults on potential victims when he encountered an armed citizen who protected himself.”

Concealed carry holder shoots car burglar on Far South Side
CHICAGO — A concealed carry license holder shot a man who was trying to break into his car on the Far South Side overnight, according to Chicago police.
The would-be burglar initially called 911 around 1:02 a.m., claiming that two men shot him in a drive-by in the 13400 block of South Green Bay. He even described the men who shot him and their getaway car.
But another 911 call, this one from the concealed carry holder, soon followed. He told police that he saw two men breaking into his car, and he ultimately shot one of them in both legs.
The injured burglar, 21, was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in fair condition. CPD said he is now in custody for auto burglary.

Only problem with my Mossy Maverick was the stock was wayyy too long. Replaced it with a collapsible M-4 style stock. Recoil is a little more pronounced but still not bad for a 12 ga. Best $200 shotgun ever.
My Mossy Mav88 feeds everything but the short shells. But I’m too much of a wimp to feed the 3.5″ through it.
I was going to question how someone got a pic of my shotty rig – but I guess it’s a normal setup. And my sling is home-made.
Mr. Maverick happily fires 3″ magnums.
But my rotator cuff would not be happy at all with 3″ magnums.
