Operation ‘Days of Repentance’: All Israeli Aircraft Return Safely After Targeting Iran’s Missile Sites, Air Defenses

Joel B. Pollak
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Saturday morning local time that all of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft that had participated in retaliatory attacks on Iran had returned safely after targeting missile and air defense sites.

The attack was in response to Iran’s large ballistic missile attacks on Israel — first in April, and then on October 1.

The IDF dubbed the operation “Days of Repentance,” referring to the recent Jewish high holidays, and Iran’s attacks.

As Breitbart News reported, citing Israeli sources, the attack took place across the entire breadth of Iran, including sites in the north, south, east, and west, demonstrating Israel’s ability to reach deep into Iranian territory.

In a statement, the IDF said:

A short while ago, the IDF completed precise and targeted strikes against military targets in a number of areas in Iran. Our planes have safely returned home.

The strike was conducted in response to the attacks by the Iranian regime against the State of Israel and its citizens in recent months. The retaliatory strike has been completed and the mission was fulfilled.

Based on intelligence, IAF aircraft struck missile manufacturing facilities used to produce the missiles that Iran fired at the State of Israel over the last year. These missiles posed a direct and immediate threat to the citizens of the State of Israel. Simultaneously, the IDF struck surface-to-air missile arrays and additional Iranian aerial capabilities, that were intended to restrict Israel’s aerial freedom of operation in Iran.

The strike was conducted in response to the attacks by the Iranian regime against the State of Israel and its citizens in recent months. The retaliatory strike has been completed and the mission was fulfilled.

The Iranian military tried to minimize the damage:

To the esteemed people of Iran, it is hereby reported that, despite previous warnings from the authorities of the Islamic Republic to the criminal and unlawful Zionist regime to refrain from any adventurous actions, this illegitimate regime, in a provocative act, targeted military centers in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam early this morning. This aggressive action was successfully intercepted and countered by the integrated air defense systems of the country, resulting in limited damage to some locations. The extent of this incident is currently under investigation.

In this context, the public is invited to maintain solidarity and calm, and it is requested that news related to these events be followed through national media, avoiding attention to the rumors spread by enemy media.

Breitbart

Conspicuously absent from the target list are Iran’s oil production and nuclear sites, but at least a message the Mad Mullahs can understand was sent. The IDF owns the sky.

IF Operation Days of Repentance was FAFO level 7, the Iranians should be asking ‘what are levels 8, 9, 10?’
And what if there is a plan, Operation Spinal Tap, FAFO level 11?

I pretty much fuck around all day, every day…and I can safely say that I know everything.
And you’re on the same site with me.

Definitely seems a bit underwhelming… Though the fact that IDF hit all across the country, and Iran couldn’t knock down even a single aircraft doesn’t say much for their military.. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy they all made it back).

As you pointed out, no really significant sites were hit (oil or nuke), so I seriously doubt the mullahs will learn a damn thing from the strike, and will be back to their poo flinging before long.

Odie

Maybe Israel should broadcast a pic of the mad mullahs homes with a pic of target crosshairs superimposed with the question and emoji figure of “Which one is next 🤔”.

Fyrfighter

I kinda understand them holding back, given the current regime here, but I’m hopeful that the moment DJT is sworn in again, they take decisive action to send Iran back to the stone age..

Graybeard

Hopefully with our forces providing some level of support and/or direct force.

Nah. Just send pics clearly taken from a tactical spot way up.

The rest is self-evident.

The reason most likely for not hitting the oil is that Herr biden most likely has stocks in the iran oil industry and Herr biden is a closet friend of iran IMHO..

Fyrfighter

“closet” friend? Must be a damn walk-in closet…

jeff LPH 3 63-66

The walk in closet is for the whole DemoRatic party oil stock holders to fit into….

They can’t afford an oil shock right before the election.

Also you will note they toned it way down instead of the normal; “the filthy Jews will die in Allah’s nuclear fire”. Three weeks from now it is game on. Hilarious that that are that scared of Trump, he must be doing something right.

You know that if they had hit the oil facilities, and prices rose, the moonbats would be screeching “foreign election interference”..

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Herr Biden Jr. likes closets.
They are perfect ‘ safe spaces ‘ to enjoy crack in.

“Days of Repentance”
I am glad I didn’t have coffee in my mouth when I read that. I love the Israeli sense of humor there.

BlueCordDad

Nice oil refineries ya got there…be a shame if something happened to ‘em…FAFO🇮🇱

5JC

Now that they are essentially defenseless….

Fyrfighter

Apparently they were all along.. at least against an adversary like the IDF..

5JC

Still have to do a proper SEAD mission.

Fyrfighter

True.. apparently IDF is much better at that than Iran is at ADA. Thank God..

Ahhhh …. FAFO. St. McFuckerson is being summoned …..

Get Some! IDF! Now…go get some more! That being said, I expect that this whole fustercluck will continue until someone opens up some canned sunshine. All bets are off then.

That F35 bird did its thing over very contested airspace.

Israel, providing proof of concept for the US military industrial complex since 1948.

Also Iran claimed to have destroyed “squadrons” of F35s during their last missile and drone lob, so much for that.

The Iranian Armed Forces can destroy large areas of credibility overnight.

Just not anyone else’s credibility.

Word has it, that all the carpet weavers in Iran are working 24/7 to bolster the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force

Making make spare parts for those F14s, inshallah.

It appears to the real target of the raid was infrastructure to produce missiles. This is a twofer, works for both Israel and Ukraine.

Whenever Iran says “minimal damage” you can be sure it will be at least 5 years before they sweep up all the debris, and another 5 years before they get enough workers to start rebuilding.
