Taurus Curve
CCL holder shoots at would-be carjackers on Chicago’s Northwest Side

By Jeramie Bizzle
CHICAGO (CBS) — A concealed carry license holder fired shots at a group who attempted to carjack him on the Northwest Side early Saturday morning.

Chicago police said around 3:30 a.m., a 34-year-old man was walking to his car in the 3700 block of North Spaulding Avenue when a black sedan pulled up, and three armed offenders exited and demanded the keys to his vehicle.

The man then pulled out his handgun and fired at the group, who returned to the sedan and left the scene, police said.

No injuries were reported, and no one is in custody.

Thanks for the link, Gun Bunny.

Well it’s a nice, soft night, so I think I’ll go and join me comrades and talk a little treason.

Taurus Curve……a solution in search of a problem.

Shit-Congo. If any DildoCrat run, gun control city deserves the description “Wild West City”, this place is it.

The best line ever from “The Quiet Man”, if not in all of movie-dom.
It could be argued that “your rules, not mine” comes a close second.

Ahhh… Taurus; long known for making pistols of questionable quality and possible performance. Maybe I’m looking back with rose-colored glasses, but the PT92 (Beretta 92 clone) seemed like a decent enough pistol. I’ve owned a number of their revolvers and trust them to run all day. The current G-series semiautos, though, have not exactly gotten the best reputation. In a pinch, if it was all I could afford, I might go for a G3 over, say, a Hi-Point, though.

For better or worse, Taurus’ super wacky guns like the Curve were released during the time when I wasn’t buying. Don’t get me wrong, I still own some guns that people consider questionable, but which I’ve had no issues with, especially my Kel-Tec P11 (25 years old now) and P32 (purchased 20 years ago, though I replaced the mainspring back in 2008–pocket carry isn’t conducive to rust resistance).

I might just buy the Spectrum we got in used last month. Taurus Spectrum .380 Auto Black/Stainless Pistol with Blue Grips | Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore (sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com). I think I offered $125 for it, with a $175 retail. Obviously, when customer come in for an appraisal, I can’t try to undercut the company or make a private offer, so I have to wait until we put them up for sale. It wouldn’t replace the Ruger LCP Max I currently pocket carry, but it would be a novelty

On a final note about Taurus, what’s with the I-95 corridor Florida-based gatomatic companies? First Kel-Tec in Cocoa Beach, then Sccy (I bought a CPX-2, never shot it, and gave it to my son) in Daytona, and now Taurus in Miami.

Wonder what the pressing business was the three (3) “offenders” suddenly remembered that caused them to leave? Choir practice? Volunteering at the soup kitchen? Voter registration detail? Oh…wait…having a potential victim being armed and fighting back is not in their “how to” book. Yeah it did sound familiar but I checked the time/date so you’re correct, Big Dog…after all…it is Chiraq.

Next round is on me, Mr. Flynn.

Why do I have a foreboding of a slew of fugly gunz upcoming for this week?

I hate to say, and I’d need to verify, but I ain’t buying any Bull**** guns for now, as I read (again, need to verify) the the head of Taurus down in Brazil, has said some fairly anti-gun, pro gun control statements.
And with “woke” being as virulent as it is, I ain’t supporting anyone that fights against my freedoms.
(can you say “Bud Light”? I knew you could)

Of course, Smith & Wesson and Ruger also made some rather poor choices in dumb-ass statements..

When a life-long S&W .41 Mag fanboy libertarian author pens an article “Smith and Wesson Must Die”, you know they done fornicated fido.

And of course, “Don’t be Zumbo.”
