A Test for you….(It’s not the PTSD stupid)

| November 6, 2009

1) Major Malik Hasan is reported to have shouted “Allahu Akbar” just prior to opening fire. This phrase means:
A) God is great
B) I have PTSD, and I need help
C) The OpTempo is killing us, we need more dwell time
D) I love you Dr. Phil

2) This phrase is most associated with practioners of which religious faith?
A) The muslim faith
B) Mennonites
C) Presbyterians
D) Our Zionist overlords

3) Major Malik Hasan had been sent overseas to fight in our illegal and immoral wars in the Middle East on ___ occasions:
A) Zero, none, nada
B) 1, and it was extended by GWB for an additional 6 months
C) 2, he worked in the motor pool
D) Who can keep track at this point?

4) Major Malik Hasan reportedly compared _____’s to heroes who jump on grenades?
A) Suicide Bombers
B) Battalion S1 staffs on the 1st and the 15th of each month
C) Shoppers at the Mall of America
D) Left Wing bloggers

5) On the morning of the attack, Major Malik Hasan is reported to have passed out copies of which book:
A) The holy Koran
B) The latest Harry Potter Book
C) Born Fighting, a History of the Scots Irish by Jim Webb
D) Latest version of the Dungeon Masters Guide

6) The most important thing to take away from this tragedy is:
A) That regardless of any other issue, religion, race or creed, an unstable man did something horrific, and our hearts and prayers must be with the families of the fallen
B) Dr Phil and others got to spread the light on PTSD issues, and how returning vets are completely unstable
C) Veterans For Common Sense is bereft of any common sense
D) We need to clamp down on right wing military bloggers who got their hands on this guys ORB.

Everyone back up 2 steps and relax. I am not saying that any group or race or religion is exclusively responsible for terrorism, nor am I saying that all practioners of any religion are by default terrorists.

What I am saying though is that even as CNN for 5 hours refused to speculate on a religious motivation, they were discussing PTSD and the effect on returning veterans. Can we get beyond the PC nonsense and just call a spade a spade? This guy was a degenerate who did horrible things, and no group of people is responsible, not Muslims, and certainly not our brothers and sisters who suffer from PTSD. Why is it okay to ascribe this to one group with no evidence, and yet not okay to discuss the other when there is a plethora of evidence?

How come every answer is B?

A Heros Friend

grover….It is because ALL liberal arguements seem to start with “BBBBBBut thats not fair…”

I continue to be perplexed that for hours it was reported that there were two or three shooters, one of them dead. Then suddenly the story became only one shooter, who is wounded and not in any danger of dying. No one in the media seems to have asked even one question about the wild discrepancies. Is this becoming a country dedicated to NEVER asking a difficult or uncomfortable question?

TSO: I’m glad you made it a multiple choice quiz, however, I did not get advance notice that there would be a quiz today (on a Friday to boot!!) so I did not adequately study for the quiz. Can I be excused from taking it and do a make up quiz on Monday?

I about fell over laughing at that one.

I thought the answers were all D. Everyone needs to know the hitpoints of a Kobold, and how many D4 to roll for a fireball.

Snaggle,

Ever served in the military or been a police officer? Long standing truth to “The first report is always wrong”. Crazy violent situation with hundreds of people running everywhere and you want precision? Get over it. The story is straight now. If you’re looking deeper than that for the reason the info was skewed, your tinfoil hat is on too tight.

I for one, am glad he survived. Shitbags like Hasan are usually “courageous” enough to do things like this precisely because that won’t have to face the repercussions. Seeing his family humiliated, his career destroyed and having to face the anger and wrath of the wounded and the loved ones of the dead is the tough part, not shooting a bunch of unarmed people.

With any luck, the time frame from now until he has that needle jammed in his arm will be the lowest most humiliating point in his life.

Good fucking riddance.

The chances of this “person” getting the needle in the next 30 years is slim and none.

I know its been forever since the last execution at Leavenworth, so went and did some google….

Last Execution was in 1961 (4 years after it was approved by the president)

Bush approved a execution in 2008 but a stay was granted by a Federal Judge. The “person” he approved has been on death row for over 20 years.

Im glad hes alive too, get a chance to maybe get some answers out of him instead of speculation.

Army Sergeant

1SG B: Yeah, but I would like to know more details about those other two soldiers that the general said they had in custody. First story is always wrong, sure, but you’d think they’d at least know who they arrested. And why.

1SG B

Army Sergeant,

Why? Is it really pertinent to the issue or incident at hand? There were upwards of 700 people within a block of the crime scene as it was taking place. Mass chaos and you wonder why two other individuals were stopped and detained, and taken into temporary custody….not charged.

Go work any kind of mass cal incident and tell me if you can keep complete control and know what’s happening at all times or why certain responders decide to act at certain times to behavior they consider odd or questionable.

I’m willing to give ALL of the responders to this incident enough latitude to have perform their duties the way that they saw fit and not Monday morning quarterback them to death. You should do the same.

grover

Im with 1sg on this.

When there is a mass incident like this of course the details are going to get screwed up. I have some serious problems with how the treated the haji side of the story, especially FOX….

Its no different then combat, take 10 guys in the same fire fight you’ll get 10 different stories. Until they get a chance to let the adrenalin drop and take a breath.

I’m not saying the current story isn’t accurate. I’m just asking why there are no questions. I’m finding the lack of healthy curiosity in the media stifling and dangerous.

Now, now let’s think about this one for a minute. Which country is responsible for the majority of Islamic programs/mosques in the United States?
